I found Poppy on the street a couple of months ago starving, caked in mud attached to her skin, barely able to open her eyes, and very sick. The photo with her next to the green bowl was the state she was in after I gave her a second bath after pulling her off the streets. I was very new to raising cats as I only had my orange cat, Pip, for a month and did not even have a vet picked out yet. I decided to go to a chain vet in Evansville as the reviews seemed good enough. Upon bringing her to the vet, they asked, "What do you even want us to do with her?" I looked at the receptionist in disbelief. Maybe fix her??? I wanted to take her to a different vet, but decided that since I was here already I might as well see what they can do. They did not find a chip and glanced at her saying that she was 1 year old. They ended up giving her some meds that did not completely fix the long list of issues she was having. It seems that chain vet prioritizes and only really cares about dogs. I decided to go to a different vet and was recommended to the Warrick Vet Clinic by my girlfriend. It was a day and night change coming to a clinic that is not only knowledgeable about cats but you can tell genuinely care for them. Poppy was not 1 year old. As they could tell by her teeth, she is between 3-4 years old. She was suffering from a resp. infection, double ear infection, double eye infection, and severe issues with her teeth that would need to be addressed asap. She was given meds for everything and it did not take long for everything to clear up with no issues. For her teeth, they recommend a stage 1 teeth cleaning with X-rays to get her teeth in better shape and the x-rays to see the extent of the damage. The stage 1 cleaning really did help her teeth and helped her eat better. She was still pawing at her mouth when she ate and I could tell the x-rays were not going to look great. The second photo of her in the carrier is after the first cleaning as she felt much better once she was awake. The X-rays showed the majority of her teeth either closing in on stage 3 gingivitis or were chatter teeth. There were some teeth that, when they touched the tooth her jaw would reflex in pain even though she was completely knocked out. They were also leaning towards a diagnosis of stomatitis as well. They very clearly laid out her options and what they recommended and everything was explained in detail as to why and the costs associated with it. We moved forward with a stage 2 dental cleaning and teeth extractions. They really wanted to get a deeper clean on her teeth/gums and extract the problem teeth. In total, I believe they pulled 25 of her teeth, leaving just the four large canines. After the surgery, I believe I got back an entirely different cat! No longer was she hiding in pain under my bed. She was out and about and I found out she is a very vicious mouse hunter who can actually rip apart her mouse toys with just four teeth! She was even chasing her brother around my apartment just a day after the surgery. Her coat was making a major comeback, as you can see the difference in her coat when I first got her compared to her coat in the third photo that was taken after the surgery. About a month or so later, some of the issues with her teeth reappeared, and I scheduled an appointment to get her looked at. Dr. John looked at her teeth and gums, and they were able to confirm stomatitis sores in her mouth, where she was promptly given injections to help treat it. It took less than a day for her to go back to her normal self and the sores disappeared a few days following. I am very thankful I have found a vet I can trust and I know she is getting the very best treatment she deserves. I would like to thank the staff at the Warrick Vet Clinic for the care they have provided for my Poppy. I brought a cat to them on her last life and left with a completely different cat who now spends her free time sunbathing, mouse hunting, and cuddling her brother Pip.

They are quick and efficient. The techs treat my dog so sweet. They truly care about my sweet fur baby. The Vets answer all my questions and take their time as well. When I had to put down my other boy they were so kind and they all talked to him as well during the event, letting him know how much he was loved. The staff sent a card afterward. They assisted with all arrangements for the cremation for me and handled everything with such care and compassion.
