Welcome to VT NH Veterinary Clinic
VT NH Veterinary Clinic, located at 38 East-West Rd, East Dummerston, VT 05346, USA, operates as a comprehensive veterinary care facility within the "Pet Hospital" category. Serving the community in East Dummerston and the surrounding regions of Vermont and New Hampshire, this clinic aims to provide a wide array of medical services for companion animals. For direct communication, they can be reached via phone at (802) 254-5422 or +1 802-254-5422.
The environment of VT NH Veterinary Clinic, as is typical for a full-service "Pet Hospital," is designed to accommodate various aspects of animal care, from routine check-ups to advanced medical procedures. The physical layout would likely include examination rooms, a surgical suite, a diagnostic imaging area, a laboratory, and potentially boarding or recovery areas. The atmosphere within the clinic is crucial for both the comfort of the pets and the peace of mind of their owners. One review praises the staff for being "very caring and compassionate to both me and my dog," suggesting an environment where empathy and attentiveness are prioritized. This indicates a focus on making pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visit and providing supportive communication to their owners, especially during stressful times.
The services offered by VT NH Veterinary Clinic span a broad range, typical of a comprehensive "Pet Hospital." These services would include general wellness and preventive care, which are foundational to maintaining a pet's long-term health. This encompasses routine physical examinations, which are essential for early detection of health issues, and a full range of vaccinations tailored to the specific needs of each pet based on their lifestyle and risk factors. Parasite control, including prevention and treatment for fleas, ticks, and internal parasites like heartworm, would also be a standard offering.
Beyond preventive care, the clinic provides diagnostic services, which are critical for identifying and understanding various medical conditions. One reviewer specifically mentions their dog receiving "successful life saving surgery" after a "quick to diagnose his problem," implying efficient diagnostic capabilities, possibly including in-house laboratory testing for blood, urine, and fecal analysis, as well as imaging services like X-rays. The mention of an X-ray in another review confirms their diagnostic imaging capabilities. Surgical procedures, as evidenced by the life-saving surgery performed, are a key part of their offerings, ranging from routine soft tissue surgeries (such as spaying and neutering) to more complex or emergency interventions.
The clinic likely also offers dental care, including cleanings, extractions, and other oral health procedures, as dental hygiene is a crucial component of overall pet health. Pain management, nutritional counseling, and potentially specialized services like behavioral consultations or referrals to specialists for complex cases would also be expected from a full-service animal hospital. Given the nature of veterinary practice, emergency and urgent care services are also likely available, either during regular hours or with a referral system for after-hours emergencies.
Several key features of VT NH Veterinary Clinic emerge from the customer reviews, highlighting both strengths and areas of concern. On the positive side, the clinic is praised for its "expert, excellent care" and the capability to perform "successful life saving surgery." This demonstrates a high level of medical proficiency and the ability to handle critical cases effectively. The staff are consistently described as "very caring and compassionate," a crucial feature that enhances the overall client experience and provides comfort during challenging times. The willingness to "listen and care" for pets and owners, as highlighted in some feedback for similar empathetic practices, is vital for building trust and ensuring that pet owners feel heard and understood.
However, another review presents a significantly negative experience, pointing to serious concerns regarding "questionable practices and financial concerns" and "terrible business management." This reviewer tragically recounts bringing a "very much alive and happy pet in for an appointment to address some concerns regarding her health," only for the pet to die after receiving sedation for a diagnostic X-ray. The subsequent charge of "over 800 dollars for care which led to a deceased pet" highlights a profound financial and emotional distress. The reviewer further states that the "business manager was rude and unsympathetic," and they were ultimately "notified by email and a letter that I was no longer a client of their practice." This experience points to potential issues with communication, transparency in billing, and client relations, particularly in highly sensitive and adverse outcomes. While individual staff members and practitioners are acknowledged as "kind and professional," the overall business management and handling of unfortunate incidents appear to be a significant point of contention for some clients.
The discrepancy between these reviews suggests that while the medical expertise and compassionate care provided by some individual practitioners and staff members are highly valued, the administrative and financial management aspects of the clinic, especially in crisis situations, may not consistently meet all client expectations. The feature of being "quick to diagnose" and providing "life saving surgery" is a testament to their medical capabilities, but the negative experience highlights the importance of consistent professional and empathetic business practices, particularly when dealing with tragic outcomes and financial implications.
Regarding promotional information, the provided details do not include any specific promotional offers, discounts, or loyalty programs from VT NH Veterinary Clinic. Veterinary hospitals commonly engage in various forms of promotion to attract and retain clients, such as new client discounts, seasonal wellness packages, or community events. However, without explicit information, it is not possible to detail any active promotions. Prospective clients are encouraged to contact the clinic directly at (802) 254-5422 to inquire about their services, pricing, and any current promotional activities that might be available.
In conclusion, VT NH Veterinary Clinic in East Dummerston, VT, functions as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital" offering a broad spectrum of veterinary services, including life-saving surgeries and essential diagnostic procedures. It is praised by some clients for its expert medical care and the compassionate approach of its staff. However, other client feedback indicates significant concerns regarding business management, financial practices, and responsiveness in challenging circumstances, particularly following adverse outcomes. This suggests a mixed client experience, where medical quality may be high, but administrative and empathetic handling of difficult situations might vary. Pet owners considering this clinic should weigh both the positive accounts of medical expertise and compassion, alongside the critical feedback concerning business and client relations, to make an informed decision for their pet's care.

Dec 20, 2024 · Karen McNamaraDo Not Take Your Pet Here!!! I would give them half a star if I could. While individual staff members and practitioners are kind and professional, their ability to manage questionable practices and financial concerns is appalling. I recently brought my very much alive and happy pet in for an appointment to address some concerns regarding her health. After given sedation to perform a diagnostic x-ray, she died. I was charged over 800 dollars for care which led to a deceased pet. The business manager was rude and unsympathetic - and I was ultimately notified by email and a letter that I was no longer a client of their practice. I had brought beloved pets there for many, many years. Terrible business management!
Apr 27, 2025 · Cheryl AlexanderWith even how upset I am about how I was treated after a decade of being with this clinic I need to make sure you know Dr. MacNamara is the best veterinarian I have had in 30 years of being an animal owner. She saved my dog camrens life when he was younger he is now 15. However I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars having my animals cared for here. I am told today I can’t schedule my dog an appointment for SURGERY unless I give them a deposit over the phone? What?? They won’t let me make an appointment because I canceled an unnecessary vanity surgery before the holidays bc as a single mom I just had to wait and it was in NO way hurting my dog?. I thought they really cared so now my 15 year old dog who is pooping blood (yes I told them that) needs to wait while I try and find a new veterinarian. I’m sad for my boy he was comfortable with them and all. I always have paid my bill at time of service just sad.
Jan 11, 2025 · diana deeDr Warner and the entire staff truly embody what it means to be care providers. Our dog of 11 years had reached the end of his journey, it seemed the entire staff was there to help. Going as far as pushing our appointment back and working late until our daughter was able to arrive and say goodbye. Thank VT NH staff.
Nov 04, 2022 · Duston BlanchetteHorse care - Dr Jessie is nice but that only goes so far if you need quality care for your horses. I gave them so much grace but they continued to make so MANY MISTAKES! Old vets who started this clinic are long retired and gone (Dr Johnson is about to retire and though he can come across as rude he was a good vet) The young, new vets and the office staff are horrendous, unprofessional, very rude. The office staff know NOTHING about horses! Be very careful trusting the office staff in particular. Countless mistakes from giving us the wrong medication prescription to telling us incorrect information about routine care questions. I would be afraid of an equine emergency with these clowns. RUN AWAY FROM THEM!
