Vista Animal Hospital

I recently switched to Vista Animal Hospital and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The facility is clean, welcoming and the staff was incredibly caring and knowledgeable. My dog, Charlie, has always been anxious about vet visits-he whimpers and shakes the moment we walk through the door, hides during his exams and can’t get out the door fast enough when it’s over. At Vista, the difference was clear from the start. We were taken to a comfortable exam room that had a cozy dog bed, water bowl, and calming music. Nicole, our vet tech, was fantastic, offering Charlie treats to help him relax. When Dr Raines came in, she made sure to sit on the floor to get on his level and was incredibly patient making him feel safe. They spoiled him with peanut butter and squeeze cheese, and by the end, Charlie was calm enough for Dr Raines to complete her exam and administer his vaccines-all while still getting plenty of love and affection. The care, patience, and attention to detail made such a huge difference for Charlie, turning what used to be a stressful situation into a positive one. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vista to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

Vista Animal Hospital, all of their vets and their techs have been a godsend with my male whippet and his cancer journey. Starting in Dec 2021, from the very start, it has been a team effort to get the original tumor out and him healed up. This cancer is a tough one. In May 2024, when we noticed a new bump, Bonnie Abbott scheduled surgery the very next day to remove the recurrance. Our primary veterinarian since 1981 referred us to Bonnie and Vista Animal Hospital as he was mostly retired. I trusted his opinion and am so very happy we followed his advice. They understand whippets (sighthounds have different medical needs than other breeds), which is very important to us having 2. Every person we have met at the clinic is compassionate and loving. My dogs think the staff are some of their best friends. Whether you see them in person, contact them via phone or via emails, they are very responsive and professional. Their facility is clean, bright and welcoming. We love the low couches in the exam rooms, so I sit on them with my dogs. I am very happy with Vista Animal Hospital and so fortunate they to have them close by.

We started taking our 2 cats to Vista Animal Hospital in 2020 when we moved to Vista Ridge. Initially, we saw Dr Abbott and were happy with her (much less happy with her staff). Last Saturday, we had an appointment for an annual check-up for one of our cats. The "cat room" clearly hadn't been cleaned between patients - the entire room smelled like urine. There was wet urine and dried feces on the table blanket and scale foam. It was disgusting. Additionally, we had made this appointment because *their system* had texted us that it was time. Once there, the vet tech said no shots were due and asked why we were there. On Monday, I filled out the form on their website explaining what had happened on Saturday and asking if it is their policy to not clean the room between patients or if staff is doing the minimum possible work since Dr Abbott isn't there to police them. Neither answer is acceptable, and, as it turns out, no one could be bothered to contact me to discuss. So we are officially leaving this practice. There are sooo many vet offices around here. With so much competition, it would behoove Dr Abbott to better coach her staff and respond to customer concerns.

I can't say enough good things about Vista Animal Hospital, their facility, and the amazing team! Our experience here has been exceptional from day one. The facility is clean, well-organized, and welcoming. The staff is incredibly caring and knowledgeable. WE LOVE THE STAFF. They treat our 2 pets like their own, and it's evident that they genuinely love animals. The veterinarians take the time to thoroughly explain everything, and they always provide multiple options for treatment, allowing us to make informed decisions for our pet's health. We've never had to wait long for an appointment, and they always follow up to check on our pet's progress after a visit. Overall, Vista Animal Hospital goes above and beyond in every aspect. We trust them completely with our pet's well-being and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of exceptional veterinary care. Thank you Dr Abbot and her whole team for taking such wonderful care of our Timber! He has fully recovered from surgery and living his best life! We are eternally grateful - thank you! Dr Abbot was our third opinion for soft tissue mass on our dog’s paw. Previous vet recommended amputation of his leg. Dr Abbot was able to remove a toe and save his leg. She truly extended his quality of life! Dr Abbot was transparent with her treatment plan from start to finish. She is knowledgeable, very talented, and most importantly - compassionate! We felt truly cared for every visit. Timber’s a large fluffy dog (required a lot of helping hands) …every team member, every cast change was so friendly which made it a lot of fun for us! Facility is beautiful, clean. Convenient location, easy parking.

weird vibes. told me my cat needed a dental and was in a lot of pain just to not call me back or send me an estimate for said procedure. been trying to contact them for weeks to get a copy of my cats rabies vaccine sent to my new vet. no call back. i’ve left multiple messages. my cat is normally very very good and confident at the vet but here she was shy and scared. which I immediately thought was weird. the vet also did a “through and through” for her rabies vaccine meaning she got poked twice for no reason. don’t recommend!!
