We had never been to this veterinarian before, but our elderly guinea pig had become immobile and needed to be put to sleep. I was happy to find there was a vet in Santa Clarita that provided this service for guinea pigs, so we didn’t have to go to a further away and more expensive “exotic pet” vet. When I called the office, both of the women I spoke to were very helpful. One explained the different options they offered (if you want a paw print and/or ashes back or not) and the second scheduled us with the doctor even though he was already fully booked. When we went to the office, everyone we interacted with was very compassionate. The process was explained and my son and I stayed in an exam room with our little guy and said goodbye. After a while, the doctor came in and examined him. He then gave him a sedative injection and we stayed with him until he fell asleep. A second shot to actually end his life would take place after we left. It was, of course, a sad occasion to visit the vet, but we’re thankful for the good experience and the sympathy we received.

Welcome to VIP Veterinary Services

VIP Veterinary Services, located at 26111 Bouquet Canyon Rd Suite #D-5, Santa Clarita, CA 91350, USA, operates as a distinguished "Pet Hospital" that prides itself on providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care for a wide range of animals, including traditional pets like dogs and cats, and importantly, exotic species such as guinea pigs. They are accessible by phone at (661) 222-7387 or via mobile at +1 661-222-7387.

Environment and Philosophy

The environment at VIP Veterinary Services is characterized by profound compassion and a strong commitment to making challenging veterinary experiences as supportive as possible. This is particularly evident in their approach to end-of-life care, as highlighted by a customer's experience with their elderly guinea pig. The staff and veterinarians are consistently praised for being "very compassionate," "helpful," and understanding, creating an atmosphere where pet owners feel "comfortable and heard" during deeply emotional times. This empathy extends to ensuring that pets, regardless of their species, receive a dignified and peaceful transition.

A key aspect of their philosophy is accessibility, not just in terms of location but also in their willingness to accommodate urgent needs and provide specialized care. The customer who needed to put their guinea pig to sleep was "happy to find there was a vet in Santa Clarita that provided this service for guinea pigs, so we didn’t have to go to a further away and more expensive 'exotic pet' vet." This underscores VIP Veterinary Services' dedication to serving a broader pet community, including those with less common animals, and doing so without excessively high costs.

Furthermore, the clinic demonstrates flexibility and dedication, as evidenced by staff scheduling an appointment even when the doctor was "already fully booked." This commitment to fitting in pets in need speaks volumes about their patient-first approach. The facility itself is designed to facilitate a calm process, allowing families to spend private time with their pets during difficult goodbyes.

Comprehensive Services and Offerings

As a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," VIP Veterinary Services offers a robust suite of medical and surgical services for both common and exotic pets. Their offerings include:

  • General Wellness and Preventive Care: This includes routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, and nutritional counseling for dogs, cats, and various exotic pets. Regular wellness visits are crucial for maintaining long-term health and detecting issues early.
  • Exotic Pet Medicine: A significant specialization is their ability to provide care for exotic pets, such as guinea pigs, as specifically noted in the customer review. This is a critical service, as finding veterinarians skilled in exotic animal medicine can often be challenging and expensive. They likely offer specialized diagnostics and treatments tailored to the unique physiological needs of these species.
  • Advanced Surgical Procedures: The clinic is equipped to perform various surgeries. A notable example is the successful ACL surgery for a Yorkie, performed by Dr. Cisneros. This indicates expertise in complex orthopedic procedures, alongside common soft tissue surgeries like spaying and neutering.
  • Diagnostic Services: While not explicitly detailed, a comprehensive pet hospital like VIP Veterinary Services would typically offer in-house laboratory testing (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams) and advanced imaging (X-rays, and potentially ultrasound) to aid in accurate diagnosis.
  • Dental Care: Essential for overall pet health, they likely provide dental examinations, cleanings, and extractions for both common and exotic pets.
  • Pain Management: As evidenced by the post-operative care for the Yorkie's ACL surgery, and the humane euthanasia process, the clinic prioritizes pain management and comfort for all their patients.
  • Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation: Following complex surgeries like ACL repair, the mention of the dog being "happy to return back for physical therapy" indicates that they either offer in-house rehabilitation services or coordinate closely with external specialists, emphasizing a holistic approach to recovery.
  • Compassionate End-of-Life Care: They provide humane euthanasia services, carried out with immense sensitivity and respect for both the pet and the grieving family. They offer different options for aftercare, including paw prints and ash return, allowing pet owners to choose what best suits their needs for memorialization. The process is explained thoroughly, ensuring families are prepared and have private time for farewells.
  • Pharmacy Services: An in-house pharmacy would typically be available for convenient access to prescribed medications, allowing pet owners to obtain necessary treatments directly after their consultations.
Key Features and Distinctions

VIP Veterinary Services stands out for several compelling reasons:

  • Exotic Pet Specialization: Their ability to provide care for exotic pets, such as guinea pigs, is a significant differentiator, filling a niche need in the Santa Clarita area. This saves exotic pet owners from having to travel long distances for specialized care.
  • Exceptional Compassion and Empathy: The overwhelming theme in customer reviews is the profound kindness and understanding of the staff, particularly during highly emotional situations like euthanasia. This empathetic approach provides immense comfort to grieving families.
  • Highly Skilled Surgeons (e.g., Dr. Cisneros): The successful ACL surgery performed by Dr. Cisneros highlights the presence of skilled veterinarians capable of handling complex surgical cases, ensuring excellent outcomes for pets.
  • Focus on Patient Comfort and Recovery: From providing sedatives for a peaceful euthanasia process to facilitating physical therapy after surgery, the clinic demonstrates a deep commitment to the comfort and well-being of their patients throughout their medical journey.
  • Effective Communication and Support: Staff are praised for being "very helpful" and explaining "different options," making clients feel heard and supported, even when dealing with difficult decisions. The proactive scheduling for urgent cases also speaks to their responsiveness.
  • Reasonable Pricing (for specialized care): While not explicitly stated as a "low-cost" clinic, the fact that a client avoided a "more expensive 'exotic pet' vet" suggests that their pricing for specialized services is considered reasonable and accessible.
Promotional Information and Accessibility

VIP Veterinary Services promotes itself primarily through its reputation for compassionate care, specialized services (especially for exotics), and effective treatment outcomes. While specific promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information, the clinic's commitment to accommodating urgent cases and providing specialized care for diverse species acts as a significant draw for local pet owners.

The positive word-of-mouth, especially from those who have experienced critical or end-of-life care, serves as a powerful testament to their quality of service.

The emphasis on making the euthanasia process as gentle and peaceful as possible, including allowing families ample time and offering paw prints, serves as a compassionate promotional point for those navigating such difficult decisions. Their dedication to ensuring pets are "very well taken care of" during hospital stays and recovery (as seen with the ACL surgery) further builds trust and encourages referrals.

In summary, VIP Veterinary Services distinguishes itself as a highly compassionate and capable "Pet Hospital" in Santa Clarita, CA, offering comprehensive veterinary care for all pets, with a notable expertise in exotic animal medicine. I was recommended Dr. Cisneros for my yorkie’s ACL surgery. He is the best. my baby had to stay there for 3 days after surgery and you could tell he was very well taken care of. He was even happy to return back for physical therapy. The surgery went well and it has been 2 weeks since surgery and his progress is wonderful. He walks very good. Thanks to Dr Cisneros and his team!!!

Dr. Cisneros is not just a veterinarian; he's an exceptional human being who radiates genuine compassion and profound knowledge. From our very first visit 13 years ago, he has consistently treated us more like family than clients. Our beloved dog, Oby, has thrived under his care, and even in challenging moments, Dr. Cisneros's understanding and expertise have been invaluable. For over a decade, we've been wholeheartedly recommending Dr. Cisneros to our friends, a testament to the unwavering trust and confidence we have in him. If you're seeking a vet who treats your furry family member with the utmost care and professionalism, look no further. Thank you, Dr. Cisneros, for the incredible dedication you've shown to Oby and our family. We are eternally grateful. Familia Bernini & Velozo

I had such a terrible experience with this vet clinic. Was my first and the last time I took my pet there. First impression, so dirty there and non organize. I came there with my senior/16 y.o. cat because he has problem with his joints. During our appointment with Dr. Gisneros, I asked to give me prescription for medication that will reduce inflammation and pain, and my cat will not suffer. He said that the best to do monthly SQ injections of medication called Solensor so widely used. I refused because of so many side effects of this drug and my cat is too old to do any experiments, and I would like to try different less complicated treatment. Doctor did not like my idea, probably, because will not have customer that will pay every month. He told its need to be draw blood in order to prescribe medication (so strange he did not ask to do any labs or X-Rays to start treatment with more dangerous drug). But, he did not know we had laboratory test results that were done not a long time ago in different vet clinic. Anyway, he refused to give me prescription saying that he is busy. In addition, I was charged for this visit. Please, think before you follow nonsense recommendations even though its veterinarian saying and make sure bring your loved pet by yourself if they are doing such injections that you know exactly it was done.
