Dr King and staff were so incredible!! Everyone was kind and welcoming to Ollie, making sure he felt comfortable as it was his first at the practice. Plus, Dr King went over everything and answered any questions we had about his treatment. 10/10!!

Village Veterinary Practice - Western Springs - Is a great place to bring your pets! Having worked at many animal hospitals as a relief veterinary technician, this location is one of my favorites. Dr. King is kind, caring and has a great sense of humor. She truly takes the time to listen to what pet parents are experiencing at home with their beloved fur children and comes up with a plan that fits best for the pet, pet parent and staff. She always follows fear free protocols in the best interest of the animals and the staff. She is very nice to her support staff and always willing to help when needed. Dr. Green is friendly, thoughtful and personable. He is very thorough when it comes to his physical exams and takes the time to assess his patients come up with the best plan of action to keep them healthy. He too follows fear free protocols and is always there if the staff needs and extra set of hands. He is always there to listen to the staff and takes their ideas, thoughts, and recommendations seriously. Overall, I really enjoy Village Veterinary Practice - Western Springs! Their entire staff from client service representatives, veterinary assistants, certified veterinary technicians, veterinarians and beyond are extremely helpful, kind and welcoming to their clients and to each other. My time spent at this location was like a breath of fresh air and I look forward to working there again. I appreciate that they truly follow fear free protocols and for that reason I would bring my pets here and I recommend clients to as well! -Melissa Marusarz, LVT

What an awful experience. I hope to save anyone time and heartbreak- please read my fact-only review. As all pet owners, we established care with a vet, in this case this clinic, and unfortunately our young pup had elevated liver function. As advised we got an ultrasound, and followed our vet team’s instructions. Since the ultrasound wasn’t able to advise us of our pup’s issues, we were told to proceed with additional labs either with them or an internal medicine vet. We decided to go with our trusted vet, and asked for an estimate. Our estimate was $700, a hefty price, but we decided it was best to get to bottom of her condition. I dropped off our pup and filled out a form which releases the clinic of liability and was told they would call me when she was done. I called the force after 2.5 hours, as that was how long o was told the procedure would last. The front desk told me that she would be another 30-45 minutes. We arrived 45 minutes after I called them and the front desk agent, Ariel took us to a too , and then a minute later said it was unnecessary, that she would accept payment and hand us our dog. My partner paid, after the amount due was said, no breakdown mind you and no time to review any itemization of the bill…. I looked up our estimate and realized it was $152 more than we were advised it would be. I asked for a printed copy and went through the bill and asked to speak to someone about the charges. The same person (not sure if she’s a nurse) who took our pup for her labs came out and advised us that they had to give her a medication orally, rather than intravenously, and I asked her why we weren’t advised, she proceeded to say they customarily don’t tell the owner of the procedure changes and I reminded her that I had called and told her that if anything else came up to call us, that we were a call away. She said that the estimate states that costs can increase up to 15%, but it clearly doesn’t say that. She huffed and puffed and said she needed to speak to the Dr. aim this case it’s Dr. Green who’s returning in December. While this person went to speak to the Dr. I rolled at my partner and told him if they didn’t adjust the pricing, and they didn’t advise us that f the new method of providing her the cortisol, they can’t just stick us with the bill, as they could have ultimately let us look at it and warned us. Right before army. So not only were we left with a line item that was 64% more expensive, as the range of cost for the cortisol was $28-$31 and now it was $189, but we were never given an after visit summary, we were never advised when we could expect results. Rather, this woman walked back and told us that the Dr had worked on our pup’s case a lot; interpreting the ultrasound, mind you a board certified ultrasound specialist veterinarian interprets them and Dr. Green had sent us an email. All things we would expect our primary vet would do. And that he was disappointed that I would try a charge back. I told the woman, in front of the front desk, Ariel, that I said I would have to reach out to the credit card company if an adjustment was not made. I told her that the updated prices and procedure was never communicated and that’s what I couldn’t understand. She didn’t apologize, rather she was unable to look me in the eyes and give me a proper explanation and or apology. Rather she told me that we were not a good fit. So, that I should wait for her chart. As they take a long time, and didn’t have any other patients in their office, and my pup had to eat, as she hadn’t eaten in 14 hours, I told them I would come back. Mark my words that if they don’t properly review and explain her results, I will have to reach out to the Board that certified and conducts audits of veterinary clinics, as their lack of communication and proper business practices and accident is unacceptable. So on top of my family’s stress regarding our pup’s condition, we had to endure a terrible situation with a less than professional veterinary clinic.

I have brought Pancake here numerous times and it was been a wonderful experience every single time. I wouldn’t have such a happy and healthy bulldog without the excellent care of the staff from Village Veterinary Practice. We will be lifers!

Reception, tech, and vet were all pleasant and thorough. Felt like I was going to a long-time family vet we have been seeing for years. Thank you for taking care of our boy!
