Staff is great, having to wait over an hour for something like a medication is beyond. Ridiculous. My dog is suffering, she has some active swelling and was attacked by Coyote n yet it doesn’t seem to be a priority. It’s Christmas, and having autism, and special needs, makes it very difficult to afford anything. They weren’t even willing to give any type of discount greater than 5%. Once learning I had financial difficulties they stopped caring for her.. no stitches, no meds, nothing they brought her back and had me sit and wait until I paid the exam fees then gave us her prescriptions. As the operator of a charity that feeds people daily for free, it’s absolutely heartbreaking that an establishment would not offer any type of support for a pup who makes lives better. - Heartbreaking Merry Christmas

Dec 25, 2024 · MASA Project ArizonaDr. Lou is amazing! I brought my cat in and he provided outstanding care. She had an obstruction and I prepared myself for the worst. I previously had a dog die after a Purina busy bone (says on the bag non-rawhide, easily digestible) punctured his esophagus when they attempted to surgically remove it (different vet office). I was terrified when I entered this facility. The staff were quick and compassionate. They even send you a picture of your pet if you do need over night hospitalization which was so comforting. They are also very upfront about cost and give you options. Can’t thank this place enough for saving Skyler (I call her Shower Kitty). Dr Lou is a special soul who maintains a calm demeanor that made the experience less awful. UPDATE: I wish I could give them more than five stars, I really do. On the Ring app a person posted that there was a kitten in the parking lot at her apartment complex that possibly could be injured. She was unable to help the cat so I drove over and the cat had obviously been hit by a car because one of its legs was going the wrong direction. I am a foster with the Arizona Humane Society so I gave them a call and they said to take the kitten to any emergency vet and that they would treat the kitten and keep it until they could pick it up. When I arrived at the apartment complex and assessed the cat, it was still breathing, but in bad shape. I immediately got the kitten in my car off of the hot concrete (10 others were standing outside doing nothing). When I arrived at VetMED they immediately took the kitten back for treatment, but unfortunately, the injuries were too severe. Sad ending, but another example of VetMED being a great facility. All the staff are not just kind, but they are knowledgeable and efficient. Thanks again!
Oct 23, 2024 · R GAnytime I have an emergency with one of my dogs this is the only place i’ll go to. They go to great lengths and have amazing communication. One of my pups had to stay a few nights there and they called me multiple times a day giving me constant updates. My dogs have never been afraid while I was there which shows the love and care they gave them.
Oct 25, 2024 · summer klugmanWe showed up with our sick little 17-yr-old dog and we were crying and terrified for his life. Crystal took care of us (and him) and was the most incredible, understanding, empathetic human being we could have hoped for. I truly wish more people were like her out in the world. Thank you Crystal!
Jan 08, 2025 · Ryan LanteigneI'm thrilled to share my amazing experience with VetMED Emergency and Specialty Care. Dr. Mutascio and the entire team went above and beyond in providing exceptional care for my beloved pup, Phoenix. Not only did they take care of her once, but they were there for her when she needed bilateral TPLO surgery, not once, but twice. From the moment we walked through their doors, the team at VetMED displayed an unparalleled level of care and compassion. They treated Phoenix as if she were their own, ensuring her comfort and well-being throughout the entire process. Their dedication and expertise were evident in the wonderful outcome of Phoenix's first surgery, and I have no doubt that the second surgery will yield equally impressive results. TPLO surgery is no easy feat for any pup to endure, but the staff at VetMED made the entire experience seamless. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication gave me peace of mind, knowing that Phoenix was in the best hands possible. They not only provided exceptional medical care, but they also took the time to answer all of my questions and provide support every step of the way. I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Mutascio and the entire team at VetMED for their unwavering dedication and expertise. They have truly made a positive impact on Phoenix's life, and I cannot thank them enough. If you're looking for a veterinary clinic that goes above and beyond, I wholeheartedly recommend VetMED Emergency and Specialty Care. They are a team of true professionals who genuinely care about the well-being of your furry family members.
