I traveled from Houston to see Dr. Lewis at Veterinary Surgical Solutions, and it was absolutely worth it. The care my dog received was exceptional—Dr. Lewis and the staff were kind, patient, and incredibly thorough. They answered all my questions and made a stressful time feel so much easier. The entire team treated my dog like family, and the surgery went perfectly. I’m so grateful for their compassion and expertise! Prices are also fair compared to other places in town!

It took me three years to write this review for Veterinary Surgical Solutions, but I'm finally sharing our experience in 2025. Looking back, I couldn't be more grateful for finding this practice. Three years ago in 2021, my Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog, Milo, underwent a left radial wedge resection and ulna osteotomy surgery performed by Dr. Lewis. While some details have faded with time, the exceptional care we received remains crystal clear. The surgery was an absolute success - Milo is now 8 years old and moves with the energy and agility of a 2-year-old pup. Dr. Lewis and his team provided outstanding communication throughout the entire process, from pre-surgery consultation through the final follow-up appointment. Their expertise, combined with their compassionate approach, made a stressful situation much easier to handle. Their high-quality surgical care came at reasonable prices, making specialized veterinary care more accessible. For any pet owners seeking surgical care for their dogs, I highly recommend VSS without hesitation. While I may not remember every detail from three years ago, I do know this: Dr. Lewis and his team treated Milo like their own, providing exceptional care that has allowed him to thrive. We will always be grateful for their expertise and dedication to our dog's well-being.

Wonderful place and staff! Doctor Lewis, Leanne, and the girls in the front are killer! They are extremely knowledgeable and professional and made me feel confident that my pup was loved in their care. We had 2 tplos and cancer tumors done here and the work was superb. The wounds were closed waaay better than other clinics and my dog got A+ therapy sessions with it. Pricing is very good compared to MANY places that overcharge. I hope not to come back but if I do this is the place to take your pet!

I cannot express how grateful I am for the care our dog received from VSS. Dr. Lewis and his staff are so knowledgeable and kind. They are thorough and took a great deal of time explaining the procedure and post operative care They perform their surgeries at a price that brings treatment into the realm of reality for average pet owners, enabling them to help their pets without having to sell their souls. Pet owners can feel very confident in the treatment provided by VSS. They are the best. ❤️

On March 29th our miniature schnauzer, Bandit (8yrs) was hit by a car and suffered fractures to his left radius and ulna bones and his left tibia. Our local ER vet place was able to stabilize his legs but suggested surgery due to the likelihood of his bones not healing properly and possibly amputating legs. It was a shock to hear but we were glad our dog didn’t not die from such accident. Over the next following days my wife and I spent some time calling different vet surgery places and we were devastated by the cost of surgery(we were quoted by 3 different places over $6,500). I kept looking and stumbled upon VSS- I filled out the paperwork and within a day I got a call from a tech, she went over the treatment and cost.. they gave us a range, min $3,700 max $4,300. Thank god we found them!! The staff were extremely nice! Even though we would have to drive 2.5 hours it was worth it! Bandit got the surgery and although it was a tough 6-8 weeks of recovery and check ups every week after surgery the results are amazing! The surgery and check ups were definitely a little different- day of surgery we dropped off Bandit 7:30am at the surgery place and got called later in the day to pick up Bandit, the price we paid it included all medications for Bandit. Dr. Lewis called us and gave us information about the surgery along with answering few questions and after that it was check ups every week for 4 weeks(some check ups we did pay for some stuff but nothing crazy!!!). During Bandits check ups the techs would take Bandit inside their tech/surgery area to be assessed by Dr. Lewis and then they would bring Bandit out with the vets instructions/recommendations. We would’ve loved to been able to see and shake Dr. Lewis hand and thank him in person but he was busy, which we understand, he is busy performing surgeries and calling pet parents with updates and many other things.
