VEG was awesome when my cat accidentally swallowed a piece of his toy and we had to induce vomiting. When we called, I spoke to a doctor right away and we made a game plan for how to handle it. Staff made it so we could check in on the way over which meant they were ready for us when we arrived. The staff was kind, communicative, and had a great sense of humor about our cat’s poor choices - I’m so glad we had such a quality emergency vet option nearby! Welcome to Veterinary Emergency Group

Welcome to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), a dedicated pet hospital located at 165 Needham St in Newton, Massachusetts, specializing in providing immediate and comprehensive emergency veterinary care for your beloved animal companions. Unlike traditional veterinary practices, VEG is specifically designed and equipped to handle urgent and critical situations that require prompt medical attention. When your pet faces an accident, sudden illness, or any other health crisis outside of regular veterinary hours, VEG in Newton stands ready to provide expert care with a unique approach that prioritizes both your pet's well-being and your peace of mind.

Based on the enthusiastic feedback from pet owners who have experienced emergency situations, Veterinary Emergency Group in Needham (Newton) distinguishes itself through several key features. One of the most notable aspects highlighted in the reviews is the immediate access to veterinary advice. When faced with a pet emergency, being able to speak directly to a doctor over the phone can be crucial in determining the next steps. This immediate communication allows for a quick assessment of the situation and the development of an initial plan of action, as exemplified by the cat swallowing a toy incident.

The efficiency and preparedness of the staff at VEG are also consistently praised. The ability to check in while en route to the hospital demonstrates a streamlined process designed to minimize waiting times and ensure that the veterinary team is ready to attend to your pet's needs upon arrival. This proactive approach can be particularly comforting during stressful emergency situations, providing a sense of urgency and care.

Beyond the efficient and immediate care, the reviews underscore the compassionate and communicative nature of the VEG staff. Pet owners appreciate the kindness and understanding shown by the team, even in stressful circumstances. The staff's willingness to communicate clearly about the situation and even display a sense of humor (when appropriate, as in the case of the toy-swallowing cat) can help to ease the anxiety of pet owners during an emergency. This human touch is vital in creating a supportive environment for both the pet and their family.

A truly distinctive feature of Veterinary Emergency Group, as highlighted in a glowing review, is the practice of allowing pet owners to stay with their animals throughout the treatment process, even in the back treatment area with the veterinary team. This open and transparent approach is a significant departure from the traditional model where owners typically wait in a separate area. Being able to remain with your pet during examination and treatment can provide comfort to both the animal and the owner, fostering a sense of calm and reassurance during a potentially frightening experience. This unique environment, described as "calm and Relaxing," aims to minimize anxiety for both pet and owner.

The commitment to this different model of veterinary emergency care suggests that VEG prioritizes reducing stress and fostering a stronger connection between the pet, the owner, and the veterinary team. By allowing owners to be present, VEG aims to create a more collaborative and supportive environment, potentially leading to a more positive outcome for the pet. This philosophy reflects a deep understanding of the emotional bond between pets and their owners, especially during times of crisis.

While the provided reviews do not mention specific promotional offers, the emphasis on high-quality emergency care and a unique, comforting environment suggests that VEG focuses on providing exceptional value through its services and approach. Emergency veterinary care often involves specialized equipment, a highly trained staff available around the clock, and immediate critical interventions. The positive feedback regarding the quality of care suggests that VEG delivers on this front. If you are in the unfortunate position that you need to take your pet to the emergency, look no further than VEG!!! I have visited the one in Needham, MA Twice now and have absolutely been blown away with the care and professionalism of the team. The absolute love, compassion, feeling of calm and Relaxing Environment they have is Amazing for both Pet and Owner. Not only do you get to stay with your baby (pet) The whole time you’re actually with the team in the back with the other pets being treated. It definitely is a different way in the veterinary world, but I definitely hope it’s the new way.

There is a reason why there are so many raving reviews about this place because they are seriously so excellent. I was having an emergency with my bunny late at night and as you know, most places will not take exotic pets so I was absolutely panicking. When another emergency vet told me to go to veg in newton I drove straight there and called them about what was happening with my bunny. Vet tech was literally waiting outside for me to show up and they took my bunny right to look at him. The care and reassurance that they had given me was immaculate and I am so glad that I went here. My bunny is doing absolutely amazing now. Dr. Mello was incredibly thorough and also the vet tech that works there with the dreads (I did not catch her name I’m so sorry) and the tech Danielle were also so kind and informative. We hope not to have emergencies like this, but I’m so glad to know that there is a place that is so kind and caring and amazing in case anything ever happens again. I seriously would never go anywhere else in an emergency with my pets. Thank you guys so much for caring so much.

Veg in newton has taken care of Utah on 2 different occasions and has treated her like family-shout out to Dr. M and Dr. K for their continued support and love of my favorite and only furry being-highly recommend and would give 6 stars if that were possible. Thanks to the docs at VEG and their lovely staff Utah is thriving :)

I thank Dr Joffe, Dr. Risch (may have misspelled these) and all the other team Members who were so wonderful with Zoey my cat and me. They quickly helped treat her and guide me to making final plans about her. Nick 😺
