We brought in our Samoyed for the first time late last night due to a leg injury and he was in pain walking (most likely from chasing his arch nemesis the cat). We were worried he dislocated his hip with the amount of pain he was showing. The staff were amazing! We didn’t even sit down in the waiting room -the front desk ushered us into an exam room and the clinical staff immediately started X-rays and evaluations . Everyone was super friendly and caring. The vet on duty met with us and was informative on his test results and follow up care. Thankfully, it was just a sprain and he was prescribed meds for a few days. I usually do not write reviews but I was very impressed with the staff and their level of care. Happy holidays and thank you.

We were so impressed with every aspect of Veterinary Emergency Clinic during our first visit today! Our 4-year-old Corgi, Misty, had an irritated eye that got increasingly worse with home remedies, so our regular vet (East Orange Animal Hospital) recommended that we take her here since it was Saturday and eye problems can have serious repercussions if not addressed early. I called VEC to make sure they weren’t too busy and they were very pleasant on the phone. Check-in went smoothly when we arrived and they told us how many patients were waiting to be seen and approximately what our wait time would be. The waiting area was clean, as was the room where we were seen. The vet tech and veterinarian were very friendly, not rushed or stressed, and did a great job of reading her chart first, asking helpful questions, making sure we understood what the plan was, treating Misty sweetly, and even brought out an estimated bill (high end to low end, since treatment depended on what they found) before doing any testing or treatment. Speaking of which, the bill itself was surprisingly similar to a regular vet visit! We were worried about paying Pet ER pricing, but VEC is vet-owned and they’re clearly in it for the good of the animals (not just to make tons of money by upcharging.) We were seen within two hours (as estimated) and the scan was shown to us (photo below) with an explanation of what they saw, what Rx was needed and we left with drugs. Highly, highly recommend VEC to anyone considering them and we’re grateful to know that this is an option when our vet is unavailable.

I am so grateful for this practice because they saved my dog's life after she was bitten by a snake. They are compassionate, professional, and competent. I really appreciate the care they gave both my pet and our family. Yes, it is expensive but I would pay anything to save my pet as she is a member of the family. Thank you!!!

We brought our dog in because he had two seizures less than an hour apart. When we got there we were brought to a room right away and saw a tech very quickly. The staff was super nice and patient with us. Dr. Hamilton was wonderful in explaining concerns and what she recommended. We were extremely nervous to leave him overnight at a vet office other than our regular vet and they reassured us he would be okay. I got an update on him close to midnight that he was doing well which was comforting. Thank you so much for taking care of our bowser buddy ❤️

We visited twice in evening hours with our elderly dog (15 1/2 years old) First, for a UTI. It was treated and resolved within a couple days. The second time was for a life threatening gastric issue - GDV. Our dog was treated with great care and compassion by the whole staff. Thank you for helping us comfort her when she started to journey to the rainbow bridge.
