Beloved Furball, my 17-year-old heart and soul dog, was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in October 2024. From that moment, I was determined to give him the best care and quality of life possible, and I truly couldn’t have done it without Dr. Freeman and her incredible team at VCSS clinic. From our very first visit on November 5th, I was touched by the knowledge, patience, and genuine love that everyone at the clinic showed. Losing Furball has been the hardest experience of my life, but I know in my heart that he received the absolute best care every step of the way. On February 26th, the most difficult day, Dr. Freeman and her team handled everything with such empathy and professionalism. They made sure Furball’s final moments were peaceful, painless, and filled with love. From the gentle blood check to the thorough explanations, Dr. Freeman helped me make the most informed and compassionate decision. The entire process was handled with so much care—giving us enough time to say our goodbyes, ensuring Furball was completely comfortable, and allowing me to be by his side until the very end. What touched me the most was how Dr. Freeman was not only a vet but a true friend in that moment—she listened to my story with Furball, teared up with me, and comforted me until the clinic closed. Her entire team was there for every detail, making this incredibly painful time just a little easier to bear. Beyond that day, I want to highlight the outstanding service and dedication I received throughout the four months I brought Furball here. Dr. Freeman was always so responsive, promptly answering my many emails and concerns with patience and expertise. Her knowledge and compassion gave me the strength to navigate Furball’s final chapter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place for him to receive care. I am forever grateful for the love and dignity they provided to Furball in his final moments and aftercare. In all, VCSS clinic helped me win precious four months of quality time with Furball , allowing us to cherish every moment together. The time this clinic gave me with my baby who had terminal large cell lymphoma was invaluable. They went above and beyond from the very start and turned a terrifying, sudden diagnosis into something we could handle on our own terms. Dr. Kang and Dr. Freeman took the time to reassure me and talk me through some of the hardest times of her diagnosis, particularly when she came out of remission and during times when I stressed over the financial aspect of it. I am truly blessed for being given the chance by this clinic to give Heidi as peaceful and comfortable of and end of life as we did. I received the time I needed to come to terms with losing someone so important to me, and never once doubted she was in amazing hands. It brought me so much joy to see how the staff interacted with my baby as well, knowing that she was loved in every step of her cancer journey made it all the more significant. Thank you for everything that you do, for how hard you work and for the effort you put in for each of your patients despite working in what I’m sure is such a difficult field. Dr. Wooldridge, Danielle, and the ladies at the front desk are fantastic at what they do. Dr. Wooldridge and Danielle took such great care of our sweet Cocoa. I appreciate the care and all the follow-ups with Cocoa. We feel that she is in the best hands with what we are dealing with. Thank you for allowing me to set up in the waiting room while I waited for Cocoa. When your pet is sick, I highly recommend this team of doctors and staff.

This past summer, our regular vet found a small tumor in the mouth of our sweet senior golden retriever and referred us to VCSS. It turned out that it was oral melanoma. All the doctors (Kang, Freeman, and Wooldridge) and the entire staff were always so kind and patient with all of our questions, but importantly, they were also straightforward and direct in delivering information and managing our expectations. With the expert guidance of the VCSS doctors, we feel good about the treatment options we chose for our beloved boy; they provided stellar care. Dr. Freeman and Dr. Turner were so helpful and compassionate when my beloved Golden was going through chemo treatments. While I don’t wish for anyone to need an oncology referral for their pet, if they do, VCSS will be my top recommendation.
