So thankful for Dr. Torlone and Kellee. I met them years ago with my very sassy, geriatric chihuahua mix with a plethora of issues…somehow, they won even her over. In recent weeks, my young dog has had some very scary seizures and they’ve been amazing in helping find a treatment for him that doesn’t jump straight to meds that have a ton of horrible side effects. Even more, Kellee has been an angel for being so accessible to me any time my dog has something weird happening or I made a mistake with medications. She’s answered both texts and calls over the weekend and early morning…and I don’t think I’d have made it through these past couple of sleep-deprived weeks without her help. THANK YOU!

Welcome to Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine
Welcome to Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, a dedicated Pet Hospital in the heart of Bengaluru committed to providing a holistic and integrative approach to the health and well-being of your cherished animal companions. We understand that your pets are family, and we strive to offer them the most comprehensive and compassionate care by blending the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) with modern veterinary knowledge.
At Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, we specialize in two powerful modalities within TCVM: acupuncture and herbal medicine. These therapies have been used for centuries to address a wide range of health issues in animals, promoting natural healing and overall vitality. Our philosophy centers on treating the whole animal – considering their physical condition, emotional state, and environmental factors – to identify the root cause of ailments and support their innate ability to heal.

Our Services: Tailored to Your Pet's Unique Needs
Veterinary Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine offers a range of services tailored to address the individual health concerns of your pets:
Veterinary Acupuncture: This ancient technique involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body. These acupuncture points are located along meridians, or energy pathways, and stimulating them can help to restore balance and promote the body's natural healing mechanisms. Acupuncture can be used to treat a variety of conditions in pets, including:
- Pain Management: Effective for chronic pain such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, back pain, and post-surgical pain. It stimulates the release of endorphins and reduces inflammation.
- Musculoskeletal Issues: Helps with muscle stiffness, lameness, nerve injuries, and degenerative joint disease.
- Neurological Disorders: May aid in the management of seizures, intervertebral disc disease, and nerve paralysis.
- Gastrointestinal Problems: Can alleviate symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and inflammatory bowel disease.
- Respiratory Conditions: May provide relief for asthma, allergies, and other respiratory issues.
- Skin Conditions: Can help manage allergic dermatitis, lick granulomas, and other skin problems by improving circulation and reducing inflammation.
- Behavioral Issues: In some cases, acupuncture can help reduce anxiety and stress in pets.
- Supportive Care for Cancer Patients: Acupuncture can be used to manage pain and improve the quality of life for pets undergoing cancer treatment.
Our certified veterinary acupuncturists have undergone extensive training to accurately diagnose and treat your pet's specific condition using this gentle yet powerful therapy. The needles used are very fine, and most pets tolerate the treatments well, often becoming relaxed or even sleepy during the session.
Veterinary Herbal Medicine: Herbal medicine utilizes the therapeutic properties of plants to treat various ailments and support overall health. Our approach to herbal medicine involves a thorough assessment of your pet's condition according to TCVM principles to select the most appropriate herbal formulas. These formulas may consist of single herbs or a combination of several herbs working synergistically to address the underlying imbalances in the body. Herbal medicine can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, often in conjunction with acupuncture or conventional veterinary treatments, including:
- Chronic Diseases: Management of long-term conditions such as kidney disease, liver disease, and heart disease.
- Digestive Disorders: Addressing issues like indigestion, nausea, and appetite problems.
- Immune Support: Strengthening the body's natural defenses against illness.
- Inflammatory Conditions: Reducing inflammation associated with arthritis, allergies, and other inflammatory diseases.
- Endocrine Disorders: Supporting the balance of hormones in conditions like Cushing's disease or hypothyroidism.
- Behavioral Issues: Certain herbs can have calming effects and help manage anxiety or hyperactivity.
- Geriatric Care: Supporting the health and comfort of senior pets.
We use high-quality, safe, and effective herbal formulations, carefully selected to meet the specific needs of your pet. Our veterinarians are knowledgeable in both Western and Eastern herbal medicine and can provide guidance on the appropriate use and dosage of these natural remedies.

Oct 16, 2024 · Rachel PopeWe love the care they have provided to our beloved dogs, Cookie and Willie. Cookie, our 13 year-old Bichon Frise, is treated with such gentleness and love. Willie, who passed away two years ago, was also blessed to be in their hands. Stephany and Kelly went above and beyond, treating him with Chinese medicine and acupuncture in an effort to help manage his seizures. Thanks to their care, he went over five months without a single seizure—something we never thought possible. That time was a gift, and it meant the world to us.
Apr 04, 2025 · Cesar A. LecarosI am so thrilled to be a new member of this practice , it is so down to earth . The way vet med used to be before it became corporate . It’s the first time since I left Virginia that I have found a vet the reminds me of my beloved vet back home . I wish I had known of the practice sooner . I have had pretty bad experience with vets in Connecticut since moving here with my Labrador Luke the vet offices make me so anxious in general after dealing with his leg fracture , allergies, paying hundreds for years to find out what’s going on with his ears and never getting answers and just waiting in a corporate waiting room over a hour after appointment to be given the run around but they where so fast to swipe a card . My anxiety is gone and I look forward to any future appointments needed .
Sep 24, 2024 · Paige EspositoGetting treatment the last 3 months for my 14 year old, advanced heart disease chihuahua has been nothing short of awesome. The transformation and genuine improvement that I've seen after getting consistent treatments has been really wonderful to experience. Angus had started having syncope episodes a few months prior to starting acupuncture sessions with Dr. Torlone. The episodes were happening about every 6 weeks, and even though he was managing fairly well with medications/supplements/diet/regular veterinary care alone, I wanted to add consistent acupuncture to his treatment plan. I am very happy that Angus was able to become a patient, because he has gone over 10 weeks now without collapsing which is already a noticeable change to what we've come to anticipate as a new normal. While Angus is already an easy-going chihuahua, he seems to have a really good time coming to Dr. Torlone's comfortable treatment space, and is so sleepy and relaxed after each visit. Dr. Torlone has done a wonderful job tailoring each visit to what Angus can tolerate, and he has improved with each session. I am so grateful to have such a great veterinary team involved with Angus's continued care. Thank you!
Mar 13, 2021 · Natasha HopkinsDr. Torlone and Kellee are both so wonderful and I’m so happy to have found them. Marley gets so excited to come and he is in the best health he has ever been since diagnosed with cancer. He barely coughs anymore since starting acupuncture and Chinese medicine with Dr. Torlone! Thank you so much for all the treats and toys he gets during every visit! Marley can’t wait to go back in a few weeks.
