I was originally not going to write about my experience however, it seems to affect me and my puppy more and more as time goes by. We visited this location on Sat. Feb 3rd, 2024. My boyfriend and I and our two dogs (a 3yo chocolate lab & 2.5mo chihuahua mix puppy). Our original purpose for the visit was to pick up more food for the puppy and to let the puppy socialize with other humans and dogs. We were minimally letting him walk on his own in his harness and leash. He had tried to play with a few of the puppies we came in contact with and loved visiting all the other humans who stopped to greet us. A few staff had stopped and positively conversated with us about him, his size, breed, etc. We were then rudely interrupted and confronted by the location vet asking what vaccinations our puppy has had. Before I could answer we were told to immediately pick him up and to not let him walk around. We did just that and walked right out the door and will not be returning to that location or recommending it. In the meantime I did check with our vet and asked about this experience, they were not worried about him contracting anything nor seemed concerned for him visiting pet stores without ALL vaccinations. Fast forward to now, he is 4 months and absolutely terrified and reactive to other dogs while also being hesitant to unknown humans. I was scared to bring him any public area due to this so he was not in contact with other dogs since this interaction. I wish we would have been informed and educated in a respectful conversation so we would have learned how to be able to socialize safely!!

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic
For local pet owners in Woodbury, Minnesota, seeking a "Pet Hospital" primarily for vaccinations, Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located within the Valley Creek Plaza at 7040 Valley Creek Plaza, presents itself as a potential option. However, based on recent customer reviews, it's crucial for prospective clients to be aware of certain reported experiences regarding their protocols and service delivery.
The provided reviews offer limited insight into the physical environment of Vetco Vaccination Clinic. As a vaccination-focused clinic often operating within a larger retail space (though this is not explicitly stated), the environment might be more functional and less akin to a traditional veterinary hospital with extensive examination rooms and waiting areas. One review mentions a lack of a clear line, signage, or direction, which could suggest a more informal or less structured setting compared to a full-service veterinary clinic.
The primary service offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinic, as the name suggests, is vaccinations for pets. One reviewer mentioned visiting the location to pick up pet food and to socialize their puppy, indicating that the clinic might also offer basic retail products. However, the core interaction described in the negative reviews revolves around the vaccination process and the protocols enforced by the clinic's veterinarian and staff. One customer's experience highlights a strict stance on unvaccinated puppies interacting within the store, leading to an abrupt and negative encounter. Another review suggests that the clinic's model involves the pet owners taking a more active role in the process, including physically managing their pets for weighing and potentially during the vaccination itself, with the staff primarily focused on administering the vaccines.
Several features can be inferred from the customer reviews, though they are not necessarily positive. One apparent feature is a potentially stringent protocol regarding unvaccinated animals on the premises, as highlighted by the immediate directive to pick up a young puppy who had not yet completed its full vaccination series. While the intention behind such a rule might be to protect the health of other animals, the manner in which it was communicated in the reported experience was perceived as rude and lacking in educational value for a new pet owner. Another potential feature is a more hands-off approach from the staff beyond the administration of vaccines, with an expectation that pet owners will manage their animals during the process. The lack of clear direction or a structured system, as mentioned in one review, could also be considered a characteristic of the clinic's operational style.
The first detailed review raises significant concerns regarding the clinic's approach to educating new pet owners and their communication style. The abrupt confrontation regarding the puppy's vaccination status and the lack of an attempt to explain the reasoning or offer guidance on safe socialization practices left a negative and lasting impact on the owner, reportedly contributing to the puppy developing fear and reactivity towards other dogs and unfamiliar people. This lack of a respectful and informative conversation is a critical point of concern for potential clients, especially those new to pet ownership who rely on veterinary professionals for guidance.
The second negative review corroborates a potentially less supportive experience during the vaccination process itself, suggesting that pet owners should be prepared to physically manage their dogs, including potentially muzzling or lifting them for weighing. This hands-on expectation might not be suitable for all pet owners, particularly those with large or less cooperative animals. The reported lack of organization, such as no clear line or signage, could also contribute to a stressful and confusing experience for pet owners visiting the clinic.
Currently, there is no information provided in the reviews regarding any promotional offers or specific pricing for vaccinations at Vetco Vaccination Clinic. Individuals seeking low-cost vaccination options might consider this clinic, but it would be prudent to inquire about the clinic's procedures and communication style beforehand to ensure it aligns with their expectations and their pet's needs. The lack of positive feedback regarding the overall service experience, beyond the basic provision of vaccinations, is a significant factor to consider.
In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in Woodbury, Minnesota, primarily offers pet vaccinations. However, the limited customer reviews available highlight potential concerns regarding the clinic's communication style, particularly with new pet owners, and a potentially hands-off approach where pet owners are expected to manage their animals during the vaccination process. The enforcement of strict protocols regarding unvaccinated animals on the premises, while potentially aimed at safety, was perceived negatively in one reported instance due to the manner of communication and lack of educational guidance. Local users considering Vetco Vaccination Clinic for their pet's vaccination needs should weigh these reported experiences and may wish to seek further information about the clinic's procedures and customer service approach before visiting.
To inquire about their services, pricing, and protocols, interested local pet owners can contact Vetco Vaccination Clinic at (651) 739-9122 or +1 651-739-9122. Mar 28, 2024 · Tina HoffmanSave yourself and your pets the agony of this experience. You will be wrestling your dogs, you will be muzzling if needed, you will be lifting to weigh them. They are there the give the vaccines and you are there to do everything else. This location has no real line, no signs, no direction. It’s just the worse experience I’ve ever had.
