I used the Vetco @ Petco at 93rd & Riverside. They were great! I was a little early & they took me as soon as they could. The Vet & her helpers were sweet to my routy 5 mo. old pup. I talked about his diet w/ the vet & I learned dogs should NOT eat grapes, onions or garlic because it's bad for their liver & apples & carrots are great snacks. All his vaccines ended up being about $150. He was pretty low key for a couple of days with a little fever but I was told that was normal. All well now. We picked up some toys & jacket. Good day & very quick. 馃惗鉂わ笍 馃惗 鉂わ笍馃惗

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic

This introduction focuses on the Vetco Vaccination Clinic located at 9645 Riverside Pkwy Suite A, Tulsa, OK 74137, USA. Operating within the platform category of Pet Hospital, specifically as a vaccination clinic often found within Petco retail locations (as indicated by one reviewer mentioning the Vetco at Petco at 93rd & Riverside, suggesting a potential association or similar model at this location), Vetco aims to provide accessible vaccination services for pets in the Tulsa community. It's important to note that while operating under the broader umbrella of pet health services, vaccination clinics often have a more focused scope compared to full-service animal hospitals. This introduction will explore the potential environment, services, features, and any insights into promotional information based on the limited customer reviews available.

Given that Vetco Vaccination Clinics often operate within retail environments like Petco, the environment may differ from a traditional stand-alone veterinary hospital. Typically, these clinics have a designated area within the retail store, equipped for administering vaccinations and performing basic health screenings related to vaccination. The space is likely to be functional and clean, prioritizing efficiency and accessibility for pet owners seeking convenient vaccination services. While it might not have the extensive facilities of a full-service hospital (such as surgical suites or extensive diagnostic equipment), it would be equipped with the necessary supplies for administering injections, handling pets safely, and providing basic veterinary consultation related to vaccinations.

The primary service offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinics, as the name suggests, is vaccinations for pets. Based on the customer reviews, the services likely include:

  • Core Vaccinations: These are essential vaccines recommended for most pets to protect against common and potentially serious diseases. For dogs, this typically includes rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and adenovirus. For cats, it usually includes rabies, feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia. The availability of both 1-year and 3-year rabies vaccines is mentioned in a review.
  • Other Recommended Vaccinations: Depending on the pet's lifestyle and risk factors, other vaccines may be offered, such as those for kennel cough (Bordetella), leptospirosis, or canine influenza in dogs, and feline leukemia virus (FeLV) in cats.
  • Basic Health Screenings Related to Vaccination: Before administering vaccines, a basic health check is usually performed to ensure the pet is healthy enough to receive them. This might include a brief physical examination and taking the pet's temperature.
  • Information and Education: The veterinarians at Vetco likely provide information to pet owners about the importance of vaccinations, potential side effects, and general pet health advice related to diet and care, as mentioned in one review where the vet discussed appropriate snacks for dogs.
  • Potential for Other Preventative Services: While the focus is on vaccinations, some Vetco locations might offer other preventative services such as microchipping or basic parasite prevention (flea and heartworm). One review mentions purchasing toys and a jacket, suggesting a possible retail component at the location.
  • Several features can be identified based on the customer reviews and the typical model of a vaccination clinic:

    • Convenient Location within a Retail Setting: Being located within a Petco offers convenience for pet owners who can combine shopping for pet supplies with getting their pet vaccinated. The mention of the location at 93rd & Riverside also being within a Petco supports this model.
    • Potentially Lower Costs for Vaccinations: One reviewer mentioned that all their puppy's vaccines cost around $150, which might be perceived as reasonable for a series of puppy vaccinations, suggesting a potential cost advantage compared to a full-service hospital.
    • Generally Quick Service: One reviewer described their experience as "very quick," which is often a benefit of vaccination clinics that focus on a more streamlined process for routine preventative care.
    • Veterinarian on Staff: The presence of a veterinarian who can answer questions about diet and general pet health is a valuable feature, ensuring that pet owners receive professional advice during their visit.

However, the reviews also highlight some potential drawbacks or important considerations:

    • Strict Adherence to Paperwork Requirements: One reviewer experienced significant issues due to not having prior vaccination records readily available, even for a 3-year rabies vaccine request. This suggests a potentially rigid policy regarding documentation.
    • Potential for Miscommunication or Not Receiving the Desired Service: The same reviewer reported receiving a 1-year rabies vaccination despite requesting and being told they would receive a 3-year one after providing online documentation. This indicates a potential issue with communication or ensuring the client's request is accurately fulfilled. Pet owners should be diligent in confirming the specifics of the services received and the documentation provided.
    • Possible Mild Side Effects Post-Vaccination: One reviewer noted their puppy being "low key" with a slight fever for a couple of days after vaccination, which they were told was normal. Pet owners should be aware of potential mild and temporary side effects that can occur after vaccination.

Regarding promotional information, the provided text does not contain any specific promotions or discounts offered by Vetco Vaccination Clinic at the Riverside Pkwy location. Vaccination clinics, especially those operating within retail stores, may occasionally offer package deals for a series of vaccinations or discounts during certain times. To inquire about any current promotions or special offers, local users are advised to contact the Vetco Vaccination Clinic directly at (918) 296-3312 or +1 918-296-3312 or inquire at the Petco location where it is situated.

In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic at 9645 Riverside Pkwy in Tulsa, OK, offers a convenient option for pet owners seeking vaccination services, potentially at a reasonable cost and with generally quick service, operating within a retail environment. The presence of a veterinarian allows for basic health-related questions to be addressed. However, based on customer reviews, it is crucial for pet owners to be prepared with all necessary vaccination records and to clearly communicate and confirm the specific services they require to avoid potential issues with paperwork or receiving unintended services. For local users in Tulsa, OK, Vetco Vaccination Clinic might be a suitable option for routine vaccinations, but it's advisable to be diligent with documentation and communication. For more comprehensive veterinary care or if your pet has underlying health issues, a full-service animal hospital might be more appropriate. Contacting the clinic directly can provide the most up-to-date information on their services, hours, and any current promotions.

I went back in December to their vaccination clinic and asked for the 3 year rabies shot. I got alot of kickback from the ladies doing the shots because i didnt have my paperwork on hand. They didnt even want to give me the 1 year without paperwork (weird). I finally pulled it up online and everything was good to go for the 3 year they said. I was happy they were content things were now good. Well when i got the paperwork it said good for a year. Thats why they were content because they still got their way. Be careful and make sure to be insistent with them on what you want. If not you will get screwed over like I did.
