I had a 4 month old kitten I took to the vet. Here’s my experience. I hope this message finds you well vetco. I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the wonderful staff members I encountered during my recent visit. They were incredibly kind and attentive, making my experience much more comfortable during a stressful time for my kitten. However, I do have some concerns that I hope you will consider. I was taken aback by the location where the shots were administered, as it was in the back of the dog food aisle at PetSmart. Seeing other animals and their owners so close to my kitten while she was receiving her shots was quite alarming for me. I understand that this setup may be convenient, but it felt a bit vulnerable for my pet. Additionally, I was surprised by the costs associated with the services. I paid $250 for rabies shots and flea medicine, and while I value the care provided, I believe it would be beneficial for customers to have clearer information regarding pricing before committing to services. Transparency about costs is important, as it helps pet owners make informed decisions without feeling taken advantage of due to our love for our pets. Furthermore, after spending $250, I was informed that worms are considered normal, and I should seek assistance from a real veterinarian. I realize now that I should have gone to a traditional vet for additional shots and care. I would have been happy to pay more if I had been speaking with actual veterinarians rather than those who felt more like just “poke artists”. Neither of the girls are long term on the job either, both were recently new. Overall, while I appreciated the amazing service and kindness from your team, I believe that enhancing the privacy and safety of the treatment area, providing clearer pricing information, and ensuring that clients receive proper veterinary care would greatly improve the experience for pet owners like myself.Thank you for considering my feedback, and I look forward to seeing how you continue to improve your services.

Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic
Welcome to Vetco Vaccination Clinic, conveniently located inside the PetSmart at 3150 Erie Blvd E Unit 500, De Witt, NY 13214, USA. As a pet hospital specializing in providing accessible and efficient pet vaccinations, Vetco aims to make essential preventative care easier for pet owners. You can reach us at (315) 449-0084 or +1 315-449-0084 to inquire about our vaccination services and schedule an appointment for your furry companions.
Based on recent customer reviews, the experience at Vetco Vaccination Clinic appears to be a mix of positive interactions with the staff and some concerns regarding the clinic's environment and the scope of services offered. One recurring positive aspect is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff members. Customers have described them as incredibly kind and noted their good handling of pets during the vaccination process. The efficiency of the service has also been mentioned, with one visit taking approximately less than an hour, including scheduling follow-ups and receiving aftercare recommendations.
A significant feature of Vetco Vaccination Clinic is its convenient location inside a PetSmart store. This allows pet owners to combine their pet's vaccination appointment with shopping for pet supplies, which has been noted as a beneficial aspect by some customers. The ease of access and the ability to multitask during a visit can be appealing to busy pet owners looking for efficient solutions for their pet care needs.
However, one customer raised notable concerns about the environment where the vaccinations are administered. They were "taken aback" by the setup in the back of the dog food aisle at PetSmart. The proximity to other animals and their owners during their kitten's vaccination was alarming to them, raising concerns about the safety and comfort of their pet in such a public and potentially crowded space. While acknowledging the convenience of the location, this customer felt the setup was "a bit vulnerable" for their pet, suggesting a lack of privacy and a potentially stressful environment for animals receiving medical procedures.
Another key concern raised by a customer relates to the costs associated with the services and the transparency of pricing. They reported paying $250 for rabies shots and flea medicine and expressed a desire for clearer information regarding pricing before committing to services. This feedback underscores the importance of transparency in costs to help pet owners make informed decisions and avoid feeling surprised by the total expense. The customer believed that providing clearer pricing information upfront would greatly improve the overall experience.
Furthermore, the scope of care provided at Vetco Vaccination Clinic seems to be primarily focused on vaccinations. One customer, after spending $250, was informed that their kitten's worms were considered "normal" and that they should seek assistance from a "real veterinarian" for further care. This experience led the customer to realize that a traditional veterinary clinic might be necessary for additional shots and more comprehensive care. They also expressed a preference for being attended to by actual veterinarians rather than staff who they felt were more akin to "poke artists," and noted that the staff members they interacted with were relatively new to their roles.
Based on the available reviews, the features of Vetco Vaccination Clinic include:
- Convenient Location: Situated inside a PetSmart store, offering ease of access and the ability to shop for pet supplies during the same visit.
- Friendly and Attentive Staff: Customers have consistently praised the kindness and good handling of pets by the staff members.
- Efficient Process: Vaccination appointments appear to be relatively quick, with scheduling of follow-ups done promptly.
- Aftercare Recommendations: Staff provide guidance on how to care for pets following their vaccinations.
However, potential limitations or areas for consideration include:
- Public Treatment Area: Vaccinations are administered in a potentially exposed area within the retail environment, which may raise concerns about privacy, safety, and stress levels for some pets.
- Pricing Transparency: Customers have suggested a need for clearer and upfront information regarding the costs of services.
- Limited Scope of Care: The clinic appears to focus primarily on vaccinations and may not provide comprehensive veterinary care for all health issues. Customers with concerns beyond vaccinations may be directed to a full-service veterinarian.
- Staff Experience: At least one customer noted that the staff members they interacted with were recently new to their positions.
As Vetco Vaccination Clinic is primarily focused on vaccinations, the services likely include a range of core and essential preventative measures such as:
- Core Vaccinations for Dogs: Such as rabies, DHPP (distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, parainfluenza).
- Core Vaccinations for Cats: Such as rabies, FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia).
- Other Recommended Vaccinations: Depending on the pet's age, lifestyle, and local risks (e.g., Lyme, leptospirosis for dogs; FeLV for cats).
- Flea and Tick Prevention: Offering and administering flea and tick medication (as mentioned in one review).
- Potentially other preventative medications: Such as heartworm prevention, although this was not specifically mentioned in the reviews.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Vaccination clinics may occasionally offer package deals for a series of vaccinations or discounts during certain times. To learn about any current promotions or special offers at Vetco Vaccination Clinic in the De Witt PetSmart, it is recommended to contact them directly at (315) 449-0084 or +1 315-449-0084. You may also be able to inquire about pricing for specific vaccinations and flea/tick prevention over the phone.
In conclusion, Vetco Vaccination Clinic in De Witt, NY, offers a convenient option for pet owners seeking to vaccinate their animals, thanks to its location within PetSmart and its friendly and efficient staff. However, potential users should be aware of the public setting where vaccinations are administered and the potentially limited scope of services beyond preventative care. Transparency regarding pricing is an area where some customers have suggested improvement. For pet owners primarily seeking routine vaccinations and flea/tick prevention in a convenient location, Vetco may be a suitable option. However, for more comprehensive veterinary care or concerns beyond basic preventative measures, a traditional veterinary hospital may be more appropriate. We encourage you to contact Vetco Vaccination Clinic directly for more information about their specific services and pricing to make an informed decision about your pet's care.

Oct 17, 2024 · LevinThe staff were friendly and handled my cats very well. The process was a little less than an hour long. I was scheduled for my follow ups and was given recommendations on how to care for my pets after their vaccinations. Plus the fact that’s it’s inside the Petco is even better, got some much needed supplies while I was there. All in all a fantastic location.
Feb 02, 2024 · trinity TrinidadI recently brought my cat here for his annual vaccinations. Although we were twenty minutes late because my cat resisted going into the carrier, they still accepted us (it wasn’t very crowded on a Tuesday). Everyone was so helpful including the check-in lady and the vet. They answered all of my questions. It was a quick visit and cost me only slightly over a hundred bucks.
Dec 03, 2023 · Sinem AytaçI had the most pleasant experience with these people that came in from Rochester, both the attendees and the veterinarian doctor. They were very good with my one-year-old cats and I look forward to going back.
