Had an appointment today at 12 with vet Krystal Atwood and her sweet vet tech. Did an amazing job with my scared kitty and gave me great information without any pressure to select the options that were too pricey or not affordable right in the moment. They treated my kitty so well and were so patient and kind to her. Thanks for your kindness and knowledge!!

Welcome to Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital

Welcome to Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, your local Pet Hospital in Clinton, Utah, situated at 1978 N 2000 W D. As a Pet Hospital, Vetco Total Care aims to provide a range of veterinary services for your animal companions. Based on the available customer feedback, experiences at this clinic appear to vary, particularly concerning pricing.

One customer shared a positive experience, highlighting a 12 pm appointment with veterinarian Krystal Atwood and her veterinary technician. They praised the team for their excellent handling of a scared cat, their provision of informative advice without pressuring the owner into expensive options, and their patient and kind treatment of the animal. This review suggests a caring and knowledgeable team focused on the well-being of the pet and considerate of the owner's financial situation.

In contrast, another customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the pricing at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, describing it as "very overpriced" and the care as "hands off." This individual reported a quote of $1000 for their dog's teeth cleaning. Subsequently, they sought care at another veterinary facility, Pro Pet Care in Roy, where they received a comprehensive dental cleaning surgery, including four extractions, blood work, and two medications, for $417. This stark price difference led them to switch vets and express much greater satisfaction with the affordability and presumably the level of care received elsewhere.

Considering these contrasting viewpoints, local users should weigh both the positive feedback regarding compassionate and informative care from certain staff members and the negative feedback concerning the high cost of services.

Very overpriced and hands off care. Changed Vets, much happier and way more affordable. I was priced $1000 for my dog’s teeth cleaning, had it done earlier today at Pro Pet Care in Roy. $417 after 4 extractions, blood work, 2 medications, and intensive dental cleaning surgery. Makes way more sense.

Had a great experience today taking my shiba inu in for blood work and a nail trim. Karina, Mikayla and Jadie did an excellent job with him even though he's really difficult when it comes to nail trims. The whole staff has always been excellent to work with.

Two stars because the Vet Tech was the only one actually worth seeing. Zero stars for every other aspect! I took my dog in for an ear infection. His normal vet was almost three weeks out. I was 15 minutes late but called first to make sure they could still fit me in, so I was ready for an in and out appointment. Short and sweet was perfect for me. I checked in and we went to an exam room. The vet tech came in shortly after. We went though the standard Q &A and I was told that they would most likely give a dose of Claro but wanted to do a cleaning and ear swab/run labs to confirm that there wasn’t something else going on. I asked if we could go with the medication without the labs for the sake of time and an additional $200.00. If it didn’t work then I would follow up after a week, no problem. Everything seemed fine. The tech sent me the estimate for the exam and meds. I signed it and then she told me that my dog needed to be taken from our private exam room to the “back” for the vet to take a look at him. It seemed odd that the tech could examine my pup’s ear in the EXAM ROOM but the vet couldn’t. I said sure and after she took him away I began to wonder if there was actually a Vet on staff. It was a HUGE RED FLAG when the Vet then walks out from the “employees only” door, white coat and all with the tech following behind him. However, my dog wasn’t with them. They walk in the room and I asked where my pup was. The vet told me he was with another associate and that he was fine in an extremely dismissive and condescending manner. It was apparent that he didn’t like that I was concerned about why my dog had to go back there to see him but yet, he was now in the room seeing me without my dog??? My next question was, will we be able to skip the testing and just give my pup the Claro, like I discussed with the tech? He seemed irritated and snapped back with yes, but we have to tell you the prices first. I informed him that the vet tech had already taken care of that and the estimate was signed and approved beforehand. He mumbled okay as he had already started to walk out of the exam room. After a couple of minutes I hear through the closed back room door and my exam room door, my pup LOUDLY whining/ howling like he does when he is hurt. The receptionist was already walking towards the back room door bc the noises were so concerning. I asked if that was my dog and tried to get to him but was told “oh, he’s fine, he’s good. Obviously, he wasn’t! I still wasn’t allowed to get to him. They brought him out and said “he just didn’t like when we put the ointment in his ear. There is no reason that a 1 mg tube of ointment couldn’t have been administered in the exam room, nor should it have caused my dog to have had such a significant amount of pain as heard by him crying out. Needless to say, I will not be returning. If you do end up using VETCO for the conscience then make sure you don’t let your fur babies out of your site for anything less than X-rays or sedation.

This was my first time there but it was highly recommended by my Service dog group and I was growing very unhappy with my previous Veterinary place. They were all so nice! And took the time to explain to me about everything from the tests, the reasons her skin condition could be happening, and overall seemed to have a much better understanding and knowledge about this practice. They also didn’t try to get as much money out of me as possible and were just focused on making sure my sweet girl was taken care of to the fullest.
