Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital

I have been going to Petco for my cat’s care since he was 1. He has gotten teeth cleaning, shots, checkups and chip there since the had Thrive. Now it is VETCO. My cat is 8 years now so I took him last week for a comprehensive check up, to get his ears checked and to be checked for matting in his back. I have to give him gabapentin since his an aggressive cat which is not fun to give him. They sent me back him stating he needs a stronger dose and to double up and they gave me trazodone to give him and told me they will check again the following week. I set the appointment for today thinking all the notes from that day’s examination will be documented. So today after trying different attempts to get the medication into my cat I was successful. We get to the vet’s appointment and I was told he need so they exam can be completed. When they were finished the doctor came out and told him that he was able to draw blood. I asked about the matting and ears. He stated he was not told about it and left. I was really upset since I that they would have notes in their system. It’s stressful on my cat to go to these appointments and have to take theses meds. I’m very disappointed in Petco and am seriously thinking about not continuing business them. I understand that you all contract vets however I would think staff would be able to keep up with the information.

I had an appointment scheduled for Monday AM, while in my appointment and waiting for the doctor, I am told I have to come back tomorrow because the doctor isn’t in today. I go back the next day and the doctor only talked to me and gave my dogs vaccines. Because of the inconvenience on Monday, the front desk lady charged me for the vaccines and one exam fee. BUT my dogs NEVER got an exam so why should I have to pay $90 when the service wasn’t even received!

So I went to take my dog for nail clipping because she doesn’t do good in a grooming area and at this place the last time I did, Dr. Schilling did a really good job and she said everything was fine. They did the nail clipping and then a check up, but now Dr. Schilling is not working there There is Dr. Lee and he was not really supportive and helpful. I didn’t feel from them all the love and care and compassion for animals and he told me that she the dog seems pretty nervous. Yes that’s correct and he doesn’t wanna what he called it “manhandling” her which I’m not sure what is that mean in his mind so we should just medicate her which is fine I don’t want anybody to get hurt, but I don’t know. I just didn’t feel that compassion and care and the connection from this team and even the medical assistant came in and then said that well maybe you can take her into a different vet and I was like oh you just wanna get rid of me now and the dog. This team just didn’t have a right approach as it was in the past and not happy about this.

This is a great vet. They provide excellent service and give great tips about pet care. I would highly recommend them for your fur baby's needs!

So much money spent and they can’t event update my pets records. Took my dog to the Petco grooming and no point in going to Vetco if they don’t even share records or update them to your account.

I came in with my 9 year old cat Magick, he was having some issues with food. The team here are so nice. Upfront with costs, tests and procedures. Very informative and kind. They even reminded me of his rabies shot due, and made sure he was in good shape. My cat seemed to like them so this will be his new vet.
