Clean and organized. The front desk manager Alicia was very welcoming and friendly, and our dog was seen by Vet Tech Alexa and Dr. Collins, both who were wonderful! Dr. Collins explained the process and provided great education and explanations. He's very friendly and has great bedside manner. Although our dog was nervous and anxious, Dr. Collins did a great job letting her feel comfortable prior to the exam and vaccinations. Thank you team!

Welcome to Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital
Welcome to Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, located at 2001 15th Ave W Suite B, Seattle, WA 98119, USA. For local pet owners seeking a 'Pet Hospital' in their vicinity, Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital aims to provide a range of veterinary services. Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at this clinic appear to be varied, with some praising the welcoming staff and thorough explanations, while others have raised concerns regarding the consultation process and perceived sales pressure.
One positive review highlights a clean and organized environment at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital. The customer specifically mentioned the front desk manager, Alicia, as being "very welcoming and friendly." Their dog was seen by Vet Tech Alexa and Dr. Collins, both of whom received positive feedback. Dr. Collins is commended for explaining the process clearly and providing "great education and explanations." He is also described as "very friendly" with "great bedside manner," which helped to ease their dog's nervousness during the exam and vaccinations. This positive account suggests that some pet owners have found the staff at Vetco Total Care to be professional, communicative, and caring.
However, another customer shared a significantly less positive experience when they brought their kitten in for an ear issue. This review raises several concerns about the clinic's approach. The customer reported being approached by a staff member immediately upon entering, who initiated a conversation about finances before the kitten was even checked in. The majority of the appointment reportedly focused on promoting the veterinarian's background at a well-known animal establishment and pressuring the owner to purchase service packages. The reviewer explicitly stated feeling "very pressured to spend money" throughout the appointment and even commented to an assistant that the experience was "very overwhelming."
A key concern raised in this negative review is the cost and structure of the service packages, which were described as expensive and potentially including unnecessary services for each pet or appointment. Furthermore, the customer reported that the veterinarian did not thoroughly examine the kitten's ear using any instruments, instead offering a superficial assessment ("it should be OK" based on an external look). This lack of thoroughness is described as "odd and unprofessional." Subsequently, after seeking care at another veterinary clinic, the kitten was diagnosed with a "very serious ear issue" requiring surgery, leading the reviewer to question the initial assessment at Vetco Total Care.
The customer who had the negative experience explicitly stated that they do "not recommend this veterinarian" primarily because of the perceived prioritization of the veterinarian's reputation and financial discussions over addressing the actual medical concern. The reviewer, a lifelong pet owner with extensive experience caring for various animals, found the experience particularly disappointing, especially given the subsequent diagnosis at another clinic. They also noted that their decision to try Vetco Total Care was based on its proximity and occasional visits to a nearby Petco.
Finally, the negative review mentioned a significant limitation: Vetco Total Care reportedly does not have a fully operational surgical staff on board, meaning that surgical services would be referred out anyway. This is an important piece of information for pet owners seeking comprehensive care, as it suggests that for certain procedures, they would need to seek services elsewhere.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it appears that the environment at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital is described as clean and organized by one customer, which are positive attributes for a veterinary clinic. However, the other review does not provide details about the physical environment but focuses heavily on the interaction with staff and the perceived business practices.
In terms of services, the positive review mentions routine checkups and vaccinations, indicating that these basic preventative care services are offered. The negative review implies that the clinic offers various service packages, though the specifics of these packages are not detailed. The lack of on-site surgical staff, as mentioned in the negative review, suggests a limitation in the scope of services provided directly at this location.
Features of Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital, based on the reviews, include a welcoming and friendly front desk manager (Alicia) and a veterinarian (Dr. Collins) described as friendly with good bedside manner and who provides clear explanations. However, a significant potential drawback, according to another review, is a perceived pressure to purchase expensive service packages and a lack of thoroughness in examinations, potentially leading to misdiagnosis or delayed treatment. The reliance on referrals for surgical procedures is another feature to consider.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Therefore, local users would need to contact Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital directly to inquire about any current specials, discounts, or wellness plans they may offer.
In conclusion, Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital in Seattle, WA, offers routine veterinary services and has received positive feedback regarding the friendliness and communication skills of some of its staff. However, potential clients should be aware of concerns raised by at least one customer regarding perceived sales pressure, the cost and structure of service packages, the thoroughness of examinations, and the fact that surgical procedures are not performed on-site. It is advisable for pet owners to consider these points and perhaps inquire further about the clinic's examination procedures and service package details before making a decision about their pet's care. Nov 08, 2024 · Theresa CrawI brought my kitten here in December with an ear issue. A very overwhelming lady approached me as I walked in the door, starting a conversation about finances out of nowhere, before I was even checked in. Most of the appointment was spent glamorizing the veterinarian who (apparently) used to work at a well know animal establishment/zoo in the area, and determining determining which package of services that I was going to purchase for my kitten that day. I felt very pressured to spend money, a lot of pressure all throughout the appointment. At one point, I told the assistant “This is a very overwhelming appointment”. All the packages are expensive and included things that might not be necessary for each pet or appointment. As for the main concern about her ear, the vet did not even look inside her ear with any kind of instrument or tool. He looked from the outside and said “it should be OK”. Odd and unprofessional all the way through the exam. Now that we are established at another vet clinic, unfortunately, it’s a very serious ear issue for my kitten that requires surgery. I do not recommend this veterinarian simply because they were more concerned about amplifying the reputation of the vet on staff and about the finances regarding which package to purchase before addressing the concern (or anything other questions, which I had some) I had about my kitten’s ear. Terrible experience, especially having the information I have now about my kitten’s ear. I am a pet lady my whole life, I’ve had cats since I was a child myself. This is not my first cat, not my first pet. I also have a dog and a fish tank that’s full of fish and shrimp. The only reason I tried this veterinarian is because they are close to my house and I shop at Petco occasionally. Last thing, they do not have a fully operational surgical staff on board, so services would have been referred out either way.
Feb 14, 2025 · Chelsea FortierI had an incredibly time at the Petco in Interbay. I was incredibly distressed prior to the appointment, unsure if they would be able to meet my needs and price range, and they went above and beyond to give me access to everything my cat needs at an affordable price. They also had incredibly patient and kind staff that allowed us to feel at home and cared for. We will 100% be back and joining their rewards program! Their deals were insane as well as they had an elaborate display of animals to introduce to my cat to - we had so much fun!!
Feb 22, 2025 · Mollie KroneStaff and Vet were extremely friendly and professional. Dr. Collins was knowledgeable, and put me at ease with my concerns. My dog was instantly very friendly with staff and Dr. Collins - a good sign.
Feb 22, 2025 · Lauren HawesGreat vet. He was very patient and had s great understanding of dog behaviors. Our pet was so comfortable after a few minutes with the vet that she was leaning on him and getting lots of pets and affection. Knowledge and attentiveness to our sweet dog was greatly appreciated by us and our lovely pet!
