From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth, professionalism, and an evident passion for animal care. The clinic is spotless, well-equipped, and has a calm atmosphere that immediately puts anxious pets and parents at ease. MJ our nurse and Dr Kevin were highly personable and skilled, taking time to explain all options, clearly outlining a game plan and treatment. Cost is always a concerning factor in emergency care and they fully explain and have you consent to all treatments and costs. The team’s attention to detail, kindness, and genuine love for animals make it clear that they put your pet's well-being at the heart of everything they do. I HIGHLY recommend VetCheck Pet Urgent Care to any pet owner in the Bloomington area. They are truly a top-notch clinic with compassionate staff that you can trust with your pet’s health!!

We have been there twice now. They are efficient, caring, and thorough. It's good to have emergency vet in town, they are relatively expensive though, both times bill was over 500. Second time was over 1600 but to be fair we did get a full blood work and that was over a thousand at our reg Vet. One of the workers adopted a dog that came in with gun shot wounds and couldn't afford the surgeries. That was such a caring move, I was deeply moved by that act of compassion. Thank you for being here!

The hospital is very nice, staff is friendly and caring. My wife had a very pleasant visit for an urgent examination for our dog, although a little expensive, we were relieved after a thorough exam. Until we found out the expiration date on the prescribed medication is from last year. On the basis of good will, we asked for clarification and asked for a refund of the $20 medication out of the $1106.47 total bill, and was told no and they insisted that the expiration date was a misprint and the pills are fine. We asked nicely for proofs of updated expiration date and was told we have to visit them again and just see they pour some new pills from a bottle with OK expiration date. Since I currently work out of state and have our only car with me, it will be an extra hassle for my wife to travel to the other side of town just for their mistake. We proposed that the simplest way was for us to dispose the pill and get a refund, so we can get prescription from our nearest vet or online. However, the phone got cold hung up twice by two different receptionist. At this point, we have no good will towards this emergency care, at least to its reception and how they respond to our legitimate concerns. By leaving this review, we may be denied to use their service again, but I feel we need to make Bloomington pet owners to be aware of their practice. We were also prescribed 28 pills of 125 mg amoxiclav for over $160, luckily I was able to search online and found similar prescription for about 1/100 of the price before we also pay for that. I still respect the individuals who handle our emergency visit yesterday and willing to believe it might be a sincere mistake, so I redacted any personal information on the review photo. I was, however, deeply disappointed at how they handle the mistake.

Where do I even start with this place? I had a very old cat named Beans, I say this to preface my review by saying I knew death was soon for him. Several months ago now, he rapidly began declining on a Sunday. Which meant I had to take him to a vet that was open on the weekend. He was in very rough condition, and really had no more than a few hours left. Yet I still decided to bring him to VetCheck because I thought I would be sparing him from anymore pain. Immediately when I got there, they took him from me and did a 30 second-1min "rapid checkup" and determined he was in fact dying and needed to be euthanized. They immediately gave me the pricing for the euthanasia. Forgive me for not remembering the exact prices, it's taken me months to feel ready to write this review because the whole experience was very traumatizing. The cheapest option was somewhere around $300 and would have required me to take his body. After allowing me a few minutes with Beans and to decide between the options, someone came back in and told me that I needed to make a decision immediately because my cat was suffering. I chose the option to have him euthanized and scattered at their butterfly garden which was around $465. I truly believe that they rushed me because if they didn't he would have died without the medication, meaning I would not be paying them. I believe they rushed me to make a decision because they wanted my money. The whole process went fast and the vet administering the medication sounded monotone and as if he was reading from a script when he announced he would check for a pulse and then saw that there was not one, meaning that my cat had passed. It all felt very sanitized, very rushed, and very, very insensitive. I was in tears and inconsolable. To make matters even worse when I went to pay, my bill somehow came out to $650 to euthanize my dying cat on a Sunday. That "rapid checkup" that took one minute at most cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $95-100. How emergency vets have the audacity to charge this much money for pet owners in impossible situations is heinous. How good and honest veterinarians can seek employment at these places is unbelievable to me. If I could give them zero stars I would. I miss Beans so much and I wish he would have died in the comfort of my home than at a place like this. I regret taking my cat here in his last moments. Please never go to this place if you can help it.

Vetcheck really helped us out when we were waiting a month for our regular vet to schedule us in. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I can tell that the people working there care for animals and customers. The business model requires them to charge higher than our vet, but they were able to schedule our dog in at any time. Convenience costs, I guess!?

Went to another clinic that wouldn’t take us because they were full. Called here and they said to bring him in and they’d register him. Came in without an appointment and they took me in. So nice and answered all my questions and concerns. They were all great and talked sweet to my pup

We needed a vet to get our bubba taken care of and we were able to get in same day. Prices are a little steep but for the quickness and kindness it's worth it!!!!

Very kind and sincere staff there that helped us last night. Yes, they are expensive, but the staff has no control over that, so it would be unfair to put that on them. What I can put on them is a compliment for their quickness, accuracy and patience with a friend of mine when we thought her pet may have ingested Advil. The Dr. came out and sat down with us and explained what she was doing and why 2-3 times, just to keep us from sitting there worrying. So grateful to be able to spend 20 minutes driving to an urgent care facility rather than 1-2 hours in snow and ice. Thanks to the 2/17/25 evening staff (the gentleman behind the front desk, our Doctor and our tech) for their dedication and kindnesses, we appreciate you.
