My kitten was a regular patient at this office. Last night an terrible accident happened and I had to take her to an emergency clinic, they told me to follow up with my vet if my kitten wasn’t urinating so I called the minute they opened to get her an emergency appointment, instead of kindness the lady on the phone told me they will not deal with this situation and they just don’t have the staff to see my kitten; again not a new patient. We had to take my kitten back to the emergency vet and because of us the expense and the drive we had to sadly put our kitten down. We are all devastated but instead of being able to trust that our vet would be there we ended up with losing a 3 month old kitten.

Welcome to VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital
Welcome to the introduction of VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital, a local Pet Hospital situated at 8029 York Rd, North Royalton, OH 44133, USA. As part of the well-regarded VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network, VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital aims to provide a wide range of veterinary services for your beloved animal companions. Operating under the platform category of a Pet Hospital, this facility likely offers various medical services and potentially sells related goods to support the health and care of your pets.
Based on the available customer reviews, impressions of the environment and service at VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital appear somewhat mixed. One review expresses deep disappointment and grief over the perceived lack of availability for an emergency follow-up appointment for their regular patient, a kitten. This resulted in the kitten needing to return to an emergency clinic and ultimately being euthanized, leading the reviewer to state a loss of trust. On the other hand, another review offers a positive perspective, specifically praising Dr. Friedman for being caring and compassionate towards both pets and their owners, and for her diligence in finding solutions. This reviewer also commends the veterinary technicians for their wonderful, loving, and gentle care of their cat. These contrasting experiences suggest that while some aspects of the hospital, particularly the care provided by certain individuals like Dr. Friedman and the technicians, are appreciated, there might be inconsistencies in accessibility or emergency handling.
As a Pet Hospital within the VCA network, VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital likely offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services. These typically include routine wellness examinations and vaccinations to help maintain your pet's health and prevent diseases. Diagnostic services, such as laboratory testing and imaging (though not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, these are common in animal hospitals), would likely be available to help diagnose medical conditions. Medical treatments for various illnesses and injuries would also be a core service. While one review highlighted a difficulty in obtaining an emergency follow-up, it is common for VCA hospitals to offer some level of urgent or emergency care, although the capacity for handling all types of emergencies might vary. Surgical services, ranging from routine procedures to more complex surgeries, and dental care are also services often provided by full-service animal hospitals like those within the VCA network. To get a complete understanding of all the services offered at this specific location, contacting them directly is advisable.
The features of VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital likely include being part of the VCA network, which often provides access to a broad network of specialists and resources. The positive review specifically highlights the caring and compassionate nature of Dr. Friedman and the gentle care provided by the technicians, suggesting that a focus on patient comfort and owner communication is a feature for some. However, the negative review points to a potential limitation in staffing or the hospital's policy regarding emergency follow-ups for established patients, which could be seen as a point of consideration for potential clients. Therefore, while the hospital may boast experienced veterinary professionals and a commitment to patient well-being in many cases, accessibility during urgent situations might be a variable factor.
The provided customer reviews offer contrasting viewpoints that are important to consider. The positive review emphasizes the personal connection and quality of care received from Dr. Friedman and the technicians, indicating a strength in their patient interactions and attentiveness. The negative review, however, raises a significant concern about the hospital's ability to handle urgent follow-ups even for regular patients, which is a critical aspect of veterinary care. This suggests that while many aspects of the care provided might be excellent, potential clients should be aware of the reported limitations in emergency accessibility.
Regarding promotional information, as part of the VCA network, VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital may participate in various VCA-wide promotions or offer local specials. These could include discounts on initial exams, vaccination packages, or wellness plans that bundle preventative care services. VCA often promotes the benefits of regular check-ups and preventative care. To learn about any specific promotions currently offered at the VCA York Royalton location, it is recommended to contact them directly or visit the VCA website. They might also offer resources on pet health and wellness. Given that no specific promotions were mentioned in the reviews, the best way to obtain this information is through direct inquiry.
In conclusion, VCA York Royalton Animal Hospital in North Royalton, Ohio, functions as a Pet Hospital offering a range of veterinary services, supported by the VCA network. Customer feedback indicates positive experiences with the caring and compassionate approach of some staff members, particularly Dr. Friedman and the technicians. However, a significant concern was raised regarding the availability for urgent follow-up care for a regular patient. For local users considering this Pet Hospital, it would be beneficial to contact them at (440) 582-0600 to discuss their services, emergency protocols, and any current promotions, while keeping in mind the contrasting experiences reflected in the available reviews.

Feb 11, 2025 · Marilyn WeitzelMy family has been taking our pets her for years. A year or so I brought one of my cats in for his chin being swollen. I couldn't get him in anywhere close to home and was panicking. Drove the 45minutes from our current home to take him to be seen. They were so kind to my Old buddy. They gave him so much love and told him how good he was doing. They helped his swollen chin and he was back to normal within a few days. Niko my Husband and I appreciate York Rd Animal Hospital.
Nov 14, 2023 · Alexandra CiammaichellaThe veterinarians are very helpful and knowledgeable. Omaira at the front desk is very helpful also and gave us suggestions to help our cat 🐈⬛ who has cancer. She gave us some tips that we will try at home with Sharpie. She also messaged the vet for us since we were just in picking up meds for the kitty! Very good service! ❤️ Thank you, Omaira! I must add that Dr. Nicole Kovacic is the best! So helpful and knowledgeable! She calls back every time and listens! She gives great suggestions and advice! It’s amazing how much she helps the animals and has true compassion and love for them. You can tell how much she cares. ❤️ thank you for helping our kitty!
Apr 25, 2023 · Joanne KrickovichThe entire staff was great even after I had to reschedule my little guy’s first appointment. He can be a shy cat in new situations but they made him feel right at home!
