We turned to VCA West LA for our dog Murphy’s oral melanoma diagnosis and radiation therapy. We were able to get our first oncology appointment within a week of calling, and begin radiation a couple weeks later. Both Dr. Gabrielle Carter and Dr. Brittney Stanton were incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and attentive. Each week, they adjusted his care plan based on even small changes to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. After completing radiation, we brought Murphy to the emergency room three times—once for vestibular symptoms, and twice more during a sudden decline. Each time, we were seen quickly as a walk-in, and the vets explained every option thoroughly, without rushing us. They did everything they could for him as an outpatient (our choice), and thanks to their support, Murphy was able to pass at home with us. The hospital is clean, organized, and staffed by people who clearly care. It’s expensive, but we never felt pressured. After Murphy passed, we received a handwritten card signed by the entire care team. That gesture meant everything.

I'm really happy that I finally found a good vet clinic. Today, we rushed to the VCA ER with my friend's dog. They helped us really quickly, provided amazing treatment, prescribed medication, and it all took only 40 minutes. History: My friend's dog Richard was bitten by a spider, but unfortunately, the area on his paw where he was bitten didn't heal and got worse after a month. I had previously rushed to the vet ER near my home, and they kept the dog for almost 12 hours. Then, they called me and said they needed to perform surgery to see what was inside the inflamed paw, but the cost would be between $4,000 and $10,000. I declined, and they told me I needed to pick him up immediately or be charged for an overnight stay. But they were the ones who kept the dog for such a long time. Today, I'm still so happy that we rushed to VCA, and they helped us in such a professional manner. I'm a dog mom too—I have three pups of my own—and I'll be going back to VCA for general check-ups and vaccinations! Highly recommended! And I almost forgot, all the staff there are so sweet and gentle!

I was recommended to come to their oncology department after learning my dog had cancer. I’ve never experienced a dog with cancer before and I wanted to give him the best treatment possible. I was under the impression their oncologist specialist could be trusted to not cause further harm. It was never disclosed to me that taking a cytology sample or biopsy sample would dramatically increase the spread of the cancer. The cytology report was inconclusive ultimately. So we drove four hours out of town, got no definitive answers and drastically worsened my dogs condition. His tumor went from the size of a golf ball to fully encompassing his neck in two days. They wanted to cut the tumor out and do radiation with no idea of the outcome. I’m glad I didn’t spend the 30k to promote more suffering in my dog, and I greatly regret trusting this facility. I highly recommend a holistic vet over this corporate monster.

I have had such an amazing experience with the VCA. Staff have not only been patient with my dog, but with me to answer any and all questions. The vets there have continuously followed up with me to ensure my dog is feeling better and all his needs are met. I am really impressed by their level of care and follow up and highly recommend them, Milo also agrees. Also Dr. Hall is amazing!

I brought my sick dog there for y rays! He ate a ball! The told me that there was no obstruction! I took him home but then took him to his veterinarian hospital were to clearly saw the obstruction and were baffled that this well known hospital overlooked it! Never again it is overpriced and a very cold loveless hospital for my beloved pet
