We moved to the area from downtown Austin in October and decided to change vets from the one our dog had been seeing for a decade. I am SO glad we did! They take great care of our pup, thorough but reasonable, and very responsive on the big and the little things. Having an older dog with a few ongoing issues, I appreciate them so much! They are making all of our lives easier. (A huge improvement from the, at best, mediocre service we had gotten used to in town.) THANKS!

The rescue I fostered through set up an appt for me here. I told them I had wipes already used for treating bacterial infections, and realized when I got home that they prescribed me the same wipes. I called asap to ask if I could return them since they were unopened and the rescue had limited funds, which I did not want to waste. I was told after waiting on hold for 15 minutes that she wasn’t sure and she would have to get back to me Monday. Monday evening comes, no call, so I call. I was told she was meaning to call me, but I could not bring them back. I’m not writing this review because I wasn’t able to return the unopened wipes, it’s that every time I called their tone was rude, I was left on hold for forever, and they weren’t accommodating. I just noticed a night and day difference from Lake Travis Animal Hospital down the street. I am giving two stars because I did have a have positive experience with the vet and vet tech, but overall their desk/customer service did not leave me with a positive impression.

The VCA Terrell team took care of my sweet Bella for years - they were always so compassionate and kind even though bella tended to be on the spicier side. Dr. Sanchez was always so kind and patient with my girl, and I’m extremely grateful for his efforts with Bella. Bella fell ill recently and I had to make the hard decision to put her down. I was extremely heartbroken as Bella was my childhood cat - The whole process was made as easy as possible for me by the entire VCA team. Bella and I were met with respect and compassion, the front desk staff was exceptional and respectful - I really needed their support and they went above and beyond. The room was comfortable, safe and truly a love letter to Bellas life - she had a kind note given by the whole team. I’m very grateful. Dr. Fortin and I believe Andrea came in with an immense amount of support and kindness. Andrea worked above and beyond to help me as much as possible and Dr. Fortin provided us the kindest treatment. The whole team was extremely kind, respectful and honest with the whole process - they made sure to answer all my questions and were extremely patient with me. Bella left the world with dignity and a whole lot of love - not just from myself, from the whole team. The team has also sent personal messages extending their support during this hard time - I could not thank this whole team enough. Losing Bella was a true heartbreak for me - but without the VCA Terell team, I wouldn’t be as at peace with Bellas passing as I am. Thank you to the whole team - I am forever grateful.

The entire staff here are so caring, compassionate and empathic. Our family pup grew ill and declined very quickly. It was one of the most difficult times for our family and everyone here made all of the difference in helping us through. I would like to specifically mention Dr. Fortin and Shalinda. They truly went above and beyond. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for our beloved Bailey and our family.

I have been using Terrell for my dogs for over 12 years. I have always loved the staff. Always, friendly, thoughtful, cheery and helpful. I have not ever had a bad experience until last week. My allergy ridden, and sick dog had reached a point where he had had enough and his quality of life was absolutely not at all enjoyable, I wanted to do the right thing and get him euthanized. He was in a lot of pain and wouldn't leave his kennel for days and was struggling. When I brought him in for the appointment, the tech was not one I was familiar with. I had not ever used Dr. Sanchez and had not dealt with her. She came into the room with no compassion what so ever. I was clearly, crying and very upset. She began to ask me questions about my dog and her reaction to my answers took me off guard. She was judgmental rolling her eyes and scoffed at my answers. I was immediately, taken back by her and became defensive. I explained that I wasn't here to be grilled that I was trying to release my dog from pain. She grabbed my dog and took him back to be examined. She came back with such an attitude and then then the Dr. came in. He seemed already alarmed. I assumed because of what the tech had told him from her perspective. I was not able to effectively communicate my dogs or my situation because I was so bothered by the tech's combative disposition. Look, I understand that they are looking out for the pet's best interest yet, how can they know what is really going on in a few minute look over? I was told he could be put on higher dosed flea meds, continue filling his allergy meds and begin pain meds to help manage his pain and life better. And as he is lecturing me, I am seeing the tech smugly, smiling in agreement with him. Like I was an idiot. I literally love my dog so much. This was not in any way a convenient euthanasia. There was much love and thought in this decision. Not to mention my dog is in physical pain at this point. Dr. Sanchez refused to euthanize. And, fine! In that moment, I can only respect his decision. What I don't respect is being treated as if I am a dog killer. As if I haven't exhausted all the things within reason for my dog to have a good quality of life. I even tried to take the high road and apologize for my defensiveness as I was leaving. Explaining that was very upset and feeling vulnerable. She in turn, said, nothing. She just felt it necessary to give me the same smug, fake, irritated grin, opened the door and gestured me to exit. It was humiliating! I just can't understand how unprofessional she was. I understand having compassion for pets as a tech, and yet, it's also important to have some compassion for the pet owner as well. Thank goodness my sweet, dog is in a better place. Resting in peace. I'm actually glad that he didn't get put to rest there after all the bad energy and negative feelings gong both ways. He deserved a more peaceful exit. It was a very negative experience and one I won't forget any time soon.
