Mar 08, 2025 · Eric MacchiaroliOur dog came down with a cough while we were traveling from Chicago to visit my parents in Buffalo. We figured we would have to take him to the emergency vet as we live out of state, however, VCA Sheridan Animal Hospital told us we could bring in our pup for a same day appointment! Dr. Christy was thorough in her exam, and the Vet Tech, Carrie was so kind, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend this practice!
Nov 27, 2024 · Sarah HartyI really liked this place until my dog passed away 2 months ago and it was more affordable for us to have her put down at the SPCA instead of here. Throughout the years, I've taken my dog here for treatment. They always made sure they sent us post cards, informing us of when her shots and/or physicals were do. I called this vet to tell them my girl died, right after she was put down, they said aww sorry. Still, no post card, no nothing to give condolences. No acknowledgement at all. It was like she was never a patient here. This was unexpected and distasteful, I feel. Not to mention, they have her a 750 milligram prescription, that specified to contact them if my girls appetite decreased. Well, it did and before I could get her back to the vet, she wasn't walking, wasn't herself and didn't much life left in her. Always wonder if it was the prescription I was given. I see they only send cards to keep money rolling in but no acknowledgement if you put your dog down somewhere else. She was still your patient and I've spent plenty of money here over the years. Sad to say, if I ever get another pet, I won't be taking it to this vet. My heart is broken....
Dec 19, 2024 · Never KnowJust want to share how wonderful this Hospital has been to us with special consideration to the atypical visits we’ve had. We have been going to them since this past July of 2023 after unexpectedly taking in a dog with some health and behavior issues. I am not an experienced foster and was not planning on taking in what makes our 4th dog. His name is Rex, he is a 3 year old, 130 lb Mastiff and can be very intimidating for an anxious and untrained dog with stranger fear. They got us in for a new patient visit very quickly and were extremely accommodating and understanding of his issues. They looked up old records and took extra time and extra staff to make sure he was cared for. Upon leaving one of his first appointments, he was mildly sedated, not listening to any commands and growling at any attempt to get him in the car. Being a dog of his size, I was unable to move him on my own. The staff all came out, helped me get him back into the office, got him on a stretcher where we then slid him into the backseat of my car. This was incredibly stressful and heartbreaking for me but the staff made it bareable and eased so much of my anxiety. Since then, he has decompressed well, been neutered and has been in behavior training classes that has significantly helped his fear and anxiety however, he has also now developed a seizure disorder that landed us in the ER vet a few weeks ago. I had a follow up appointment with VCA Sheridan however I became very sick myself and called to reschedule his visit. However, after doing so, he had another seizure. The staff was once again wonderful and agreed to fit him in for a sick visit and examen him while I waited in the car. He has since been on seizure medications and starting to do better but is still having some neurological concerns. Without an appointment, his doctor agreed to meet with me in person and we discussed some next possible steps in his care plan. Thanks to them, we feel more at ease with everything going on and know that whatever is to come, we are in good hands !! Despite him being a foster, we feel that he won’t be going anywhere any time soon
Jan 16, 2024 · Jacquelyn DannaAmazing staff. My pet and I felt extremely cared about during our visit. They took the time to explain everything during the visit. Discussed options and cost. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Thank you so much for all you do for our fur babies. We appreciate you more than you will ever know! Lots of love from RJ
