The service at this facility is good, and the staff provides thorough care. However, the prices are extremely high and seem to be primarily catered to higher-income clients. Dr. Janel Hawkes is my favorite vet here.

Welcome to VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital

Welcome to VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital, a Pet Hospital located at 245 W Duarte Rd, Monrovia, CA 91016, USA. As part of the VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network, this facility aims to provide a range of veterinary services to the Monrovia community and surrounding areas. Based on the available customer reviews, the hospital is recognized for its thorough care and professional staff, although pricing has been a point of discussion among clients.

One customer noted that the service at VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital is "good" and that the staff provides "thorough care." This suggests a commitment to a comprehensive approach in addressing the health needs of pets. Within the team, Dr. Janel Hawkes was specifically mentioned as a "favorite vet" by this reviewer, indicating that some veterinarians at the hospital are highly regarded by their clients. This positive feedback underscores the potential for excellent medical attention and a skilled veterinary team at this location.

However, the same reviewer also raised a significant point regarding the cost of services, stating that "the prices are extremely high and seem to be primarily catered to higher-income clients." This is an important consideration for local users, suggesting that while the quality of care may be high, the affordability might be a concern for some pet owners.

In contrast, another customer shared a less favorable experience with one of the veterinarians, identified as P. Pau. This reviewer expressed disappointment, describing the veterinarian as "very dismissive and uncompassionate" during their visit. They felt that their questions were not adequately answered and perceived a sense of rushing through the appointment. As a result, this customer stated they "wouldn’t recommend her," highlighting the variability in individual experiences with different members of the veterinary team.

Considering these reviews, VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital, as a Pet Hospital, appears to offer a standard of care that is perceived as thorough by at least one client. The presence of well-regarded veterinarians like Dr. Janel Hawkes suggests a knowledgeable and capable medical team. However, potential drawbacks mentioned include higher pricing compared to other options and the possibility of encountering veterinarians who may not meet all clients' expectations in terms of compassion and communication.

Specific details about the environment of VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital are not provided in these brief reviews. Typically, VCA hospitals aim to offer clean, modern, and well-equipped facilities to provide a wide range of veterinary services. Features of VCA Santa Anita Animal Hospital would generally include being part of a larger network known for its standards of care, access to a wide range of resources and expertise within the VCA system, and potentially extended hours or specialized departments depending on the size and scope of the facility. The positive mention of a specific veterinarian suggests that the expertise and bedside manner of individual doctors are notable features for some clients.

Very disappointed in one of their veterinarians (P.Pau) today. She was very dismissive and uncompassionate during today’s visit, didn’t care to really answer questions. Seems like she just want to rush the visit and be done. Wouldn’t recommend her.

I want to say special thanks to Dr.Najarian. He is very informative and helpful for my FeLV cat. After the first visit, he is still answering my questions thru text for weeks and seeking resource to help my cat. This place will definitely be the palace for your ill pets.

The best animal hospital in San Gabriel valley. Our dog comes here for regular check ups and medical needs. The people here are very kind and they love our dog. When we leave our dog here, we feel safe and peaceful. When our dog had an injury on his leg a few months ago, the vet doctor did a great job on the surgery and the nurses performed flawless and professionally to take care our dog in post surgery recovery. The cost is reasonable for dog care. We bought insurance from VCA for our dog and the cost for each visit is economical. The most important thing is that this place takes care our dog so he can live a healthy live. During Covid-19, you can just park your car in the parking lot and then call in with the parking spot number. A nurse will come out and take the dog for the appointment. This is a fantastic service, keeps everyone safe.

I always appreciate the care and kindness of Dr. Shaw at VCA Santa Anita. The entire staff clearly loves animals and do their best to make them feel special. I do feel like the organization does take vet care to the extreme with the “just to be sure” tests. I do appreciate the care club and feel that it was beneficial for the kittens that we adopted. They were well cared for and are now solid, healthy cats.
