VCA Creekside Animal Hospital

I have two senior cats and a dog that all use VCA for their annual checkups and for any health concerns. I specifically use Dr Kinard as all my animals adore him and he is fantastic at what he does. Dr Kinard always goes above and beyond to help my pets by calling to check in, reaching out to other vets for a second opinion, and more. One thing I love that they do is they always let my cats out of the carrier to explore the room and get comfortable before exams (even if my cat gets nosey and tries to go through their cabinets), and do all vaccines in the room. The techs and receptionists are also all so friendly and welcoming. I never feel pressured to do extra or “unnecessary” testing/vaccinations, and the team always works with you to help figure out what is going to best benefit you and your pets. I can’t say enough great things about this place and am so grateful to have such an amazing team working on my pets’ health.

Well, I was a little afraid to come in! I'm new to having dogs, getting their vaccinations and insurance! But they're adorable! They treated my dog, Lulu Margarita, with so much love, respect, and affection! The secretaries, the assistant, and the doctor are all adorable! I love people who love their jobs because they do it with love! Thank you.

Apparently my review was removed? However, I'm posting again because people should be aware of the danger. I brought 14 year old cat here several times because I knew she was sick. Each time I was dismissed and told she was just exhibiting "bad behavior" in her old age. That there was "nothing wrong with her." For a year and at least 3-4 vet appointments this is what they told me. Then one day I came home from work to my cat collapsed on the floor unable to breathe. I rushed her to a 24 hr emergency vet and with ONE XRAY they told me she had lymphoma and her lungs were filling with fluid. She passed that night in a horrible way and I couldn't even say good bye to her. She suffered MONTHS longer than she had to, I was robbed of final moments with her and now terrified anytime my other cat does anything out of the ordinary. They do not listen when there are actual concerns, they do not offer any extra testing and they will manipulate you into believing you're over reacting or that things are no big deal. Trust your gut and if they tell you nothing is wrong, get a second opinion. They only care about the hundreds of dollars they can get from you if you keep coming back.

I'm sure many have had a good experience at Creekside VCA otherwise they wouldn't have such a high rating on here. However, our experience has been terrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. Our cat Macy has been dealing with severe anxiety since April. Early on, the vets convinced themselves it was an allergy issue. We knew it wasn't an allergy based on the totality of the situation. After we ran the gauntlet of convincing them it was not allergies, they prescribed an anti-anxiety medication. It worked but only because it rendered her unconscious. We have now been trying to convince them that she needs something that curbs her anxiety but also allows her to be conscious. The vet said that we should try a different dose. I shared with him that we've tried that all the way down to a quarter pill and there are really only two results on this medication - unconscious or scratching herself to the point of severe bleeding. He then proceeds to say, we should try a different dose. I said no. He said, "you just said that with the lower dose she doesn't scratch." This is literally the opposite of what I said. I am not one to fall into the sunk cost fallacy trap normally so I said, this is not working out, we are going to find another vet and I hung up (which is a natural conclusion if the vet cannot remember what they are told not only from appointment to appointment but minute to minute). Then, my wife receives the voicemail below. For the record, as stated above, I quickly explained that we are going to end the call right here because it's going nowhere and immediately began researching other animal hospitals. I did not hang up on them. Long story short, if you like VCA and have had a good experience, that is great. Our experience over the past six months has been very different. I am sure they would like to frame it as an argument about course of treatment but it's really about basic skills like listening, follow-up, etc. It's clear from the transcript that bedside manner isn't top on the priority list.

Welcoming and wonderful office setting and space. All staff members are super friendly and welcoming to pet parents and pets. Overall amazing services each time I visited. I am thankful to have my pup getting the best services and support he needs. Thank you also to Dr. Higgins whose an amazing Vet, super attentive and wonderful overall!
