AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. My cat took a vaccine with them in March and she has a record (from previous vet's) with their signature stating that she took her vaccines. They also write when the next one is due. They said she took the vaccine and just gave a receipt to prove and didn't write down when is her next one is due. We're flying to Europe next month and SHE NEEDS the signature of the vet that gave her the FVRV -FCV - FPV Vaccine. The receptionist said that the vet will not sign (WHYYY??? Did my cat actually take it cause I didn't see it). I'm going to a vet to do a EU healthy certificate for traveling, who already told me she needs on her record the signature of the vets she went and VCA was the only one that didn't do it. First time I booked with them they were also late and just when I got there I had the news I have to go another day, because they were busy. Making me and others waste our time. If I could give ZERO I would. Follow the photo where they said they did the last vaccination but didn't want to sign. I was the one who had to ask for the sticker as well. Ridiculous!!!! Other vets also let you stay with your cat for a simple vaccine and I had to wait outside. You can never know if she really got it or not.

Welcome to VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital
Welcome to VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital, located at 20805 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, USA. You can contact them at (310) 371-2474 or their mobile number +1 310-371-2474. As a local Pet Hospital, VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary services for the health and well-being of your animal companions. To help you make an informed decision about your pet's care, we have compiled some recent feedback from their customers.
One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their experience. They recounted an incident where their cat received a vaccine in March, for which the hospital had a record (with a previous vet's signature indicating prior vaccinations). However, VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital allegedly provided only a receipt without noting the due date for the next vaccination. This became problematic when the owner needed the signature of the administering vet for an EU health certificate for travel. The receptionist reportedly stated that the vet would not sign, raising concerns for the owner about whether the vaccine was actually administered, as they were not allowed to be present during the vaccination. The owner also mentioned a prior issue with a delayed first appointment that resulted in them having to reschedule, leading to wasted time. This customer's overall experience led them to strongly advise others to "AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS," and they expressed a desire to give a zero-star rating if possible. They also noted that they had to request the vaccination sticker and that other vets allow owners to be present for simple vaccinations.
In contrast, there is an update from another customer who had previously voiced concerns about the VCA Care Club. This update, dated September 12th, indicates that they spoke with the manager who clarified costs and offered a reduction in payments due. The customer noted that it didn't make sense to pay for six more months when three months of payments covered the services and vaccines their dog had used before passing away. While this update shows a resolution regarding the financial aspect of the Care Club, the customer remained "slightly annoyed that the staff have 0 clue about what they are talking about," citing the need for multiple calls to reach this point. They suggested a review of the Care Club policy to avoid leaving a "sour taste" in customers' mouths.
The original review from this customer detailed their negative experience with the VCA Care Club, stating that VCA "only cares about money and shows no sympathy towards your pets at all." They strongly advised reading the contract before signing up, highlighting that it's a non-pro-rated one-year contract without a monthly option. In their specific case, having to euthanize their dog due to declining health, they were allegedly told they would still need to pay the balance of the plan, which amounted to $1200 or a balance of $900, for a pet they no longer had. They mentioned an initial mention of a $50 cancellation fee that was later retracted. This experience led them to deem the plan "money greedy" and not recommend it.
Based on this information, it's challenging to provide a detailed overview of the environment, services, features, and promotional information in a positive light. The reviews primarily focus on negative aspects of customer service, billing practices related to the VCA Care Club, and issues with vaccination records and communication. However, we can infer some general aspects of a Pet Hospital like VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital.
As a Pet Hospital, VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital likely offers a range of veterinary services, which typically include:
- Routine check-ups and vaccinations.
- Diagnostic services, such as laboratory work and imaging.
- Medical treatment for illnesses and injuries.
- Surgical procedures.
- Dental care.
They likely have examination rooms, a surgical suite, and possibly boarding facilities. The presence of a "Care Club" suggests they offer some form of packaged services or a wellness plan.
Features of VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital would include their location in Torrance, CA, availability via phone, and being part of the VCA (Veterinary Centers of America) network, which is a large group of animal hospitals. This affiliation might suggest certain standards of care and access to resources.
Regarding promotional information, none is explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. The discussion around the VCA Care Club implies a subscription-based service, but the feedback regarding its cancellation policy is negative.
In summary, the customer reviews for VCA Clarmar Animal Hospital present a mixed picture, with significant concerns raised about customer service, communication, and the policies of the VCA Care Club. While they operate as a Pet Hospital offering veterinary services, potential local users should consider these recent experiences when making decisions about their pet's care. It may be beneficial to contact them directly for more information about their services, environment, and any current promotions, while also keeping in mind the feedback shared by other pet owners.

Apr 17, 2025 · Lanna LUPDATED 9/12 Midday Spoke to the manager who was able to clarify the costs and offer a reduction in payments due. It doesn’t make sense to pay 6 more months when 3 months of payments covers the services and vaccines I used during my dog’s time. Still slightly annoyed that the staff have 0 clue about what they are talking about. A lot of back and forth to get to this point (4 calls to this place and Care Club). They should consider a refresh of this policy or lose customers by leaving a sour taste in their mouth. ORIGINAL: Like others have stated VCA only cares about money and shows no sympathy towards your pets at all. READ the contract before signing for VCA Care Club. They force you into a one year contract that isn’t pro-rated or given a monthly option. In my case having to put my dog down due to declining health, they said I would have to pay the balance of the dues on the plan even when I have no dog left to care for.. They said there’s a $50 cancellation fee but then they retracted that statement and said I would have to pay $1200 plus or the balance of $900 for a dog I NO LONGER have. They are money greedy and I cannot recommend this plan.
Sep 12, 2024 · JasonI took my pitbull Sweet Pea because she was having difficulty delivering her pups and they were going to charge me $8,694 to give her a C Section and she died before they did and they still charged me 2,469. My pitbull had one pup alive and I attempted to take care of her but she started thriving less and less. They charged me $400 just to see her and then charged me another $192 for antibiotics instead of telling me that the pup would die before I got her home. They could've just told me that she had no chance to survive. Instead they over charged me to even see her and then charged me another $192 just for antibiotics. And the puppy died less than 20 minutes after I took her away from the hospital. And on top of that, she was bleeding out of her mouth and nose. I didn't bring her bleeding. Shame on VCA. All you guys really care about is money. You don't really care about the animals. I'll never go back. I'm better off keeping my sick animals at home. They have a better chance with me. Smh.😠😡🤬. I guess they believe that only wealthier people should have animals but they can't keep them all. Nor would they. Doctors that don't really care!!!!!
