I’ve been going to this vet for years now. First with my dog before he passed and now my cat. They are very kind and knowledgeable here. I’ve been to a lot of vets throughout the years around Sherman oaks/studio city and this has been the only one I feel comfortable at. Would recommend to others looking for a vet that cares about your pet.

VCA Animal Medical Center Introduce

Hello to our pet-loving community in Singapore! When selecting a "Pet Hospital" for your animal companions, it's essential to consider various aspects of their service and the experiences of other pet owners. Today, we will explore VCA Animal Medical Center, located at 14931 Oxnard St, Van Nuys, CA 91411, USA. Their contact number is (818) 786-1651, with a mobile contact also at +1 818-786-1651. By examining the available customer reviews, we aim to provide an objective introduction to this veterinary center, which can help you identify important factors when choosing a local "Pet Hospital" in Singapore.

VCA Animal Medical Center operates within the "Pet Hospital" category, offering veterinary services for pets. The provided feedback presents two distinct experiences, one positive and one highlighting areas of concern.

Environment: Comfort and Knowledge Contrasted with Potential Financial and Service Issues

One long-term customer expressed a strong sense of comfort with VCA Animal Medical Center, stating, "I’ve been going to this vet for years now... this has been the only one I feel comfortable at." They also described the staff as "very kind and knowledgeable" and would recommend them to others seeking a vet who cares about their pet. This suggests an environment where at least some pet owners feel well-cared for and trust the expertise of the staff. For those in Singapore looking for a "Pet Hospital," a welcoming and knowledgeable environment is often a top priority.

However, another review presents a contrasting experience regarding financial practices and the quality of service received during a complimentary exam. This customer reported being charged a "holding deposit for a complimentary exam" and only receiving a refund after a formal request. Furthermore, they felt the doctor's interest in addressing their concerns diminished once it was clear the visit was free. The reviewer noted that despite mentioning upcoming insurance coverage with preventative care, the doctor did not offer any guidance on necessary tests or preventative measures, advising them to return later. This experience left the reviewer feeling it was a "waste of time" and without a clear plan for their pet's preventative care, even with insurance about to commence. This account raises concerns about transparency regarding financial charges and the level of care provided, particularly during a promotional or free service. When choosing a "Pet Hospital" in Singapore, clarity in billing and consistent quality of care, regardless of the nature of the visit, are important considerations.

Services: General Veterinary Care with Potential Inconsistencies

The positive review indicates that VCA Animal Medical Center provides general veterinary care, having served the reviewer's dog (before passing) and currently their cat. Services such as routine check-ups, and potentially more, are implied. The negative review also involved a "complimentary exam," suggesting that this is a service offered by the center, possibly as a way to attract new clients. However, the discrepancy in the perceived quality of this service compared to the experience of a long-term customer suggests potential inconsistencies in how services are delivered. When selecting a "Pet Hospital" in Singapore, it's important to ascertain the range of services they offer and seek feedback on the consistency and quality of these services across different types of visits.

Features: Kindness and Knowledge Versus Financial and Service Concerns

A key feature highlighted by the positive review is the kindness and knowledge of the staff, leading to a feeling of comfort and trust. This is a significant aspect many pet owners look for in a "Pet Hospital." However, the negative review brings attention to potential drawbacks, such as the unexpected holding deposit for a free service and a perceived lack of engagement from the doctor during a complimentary exam. These issues raise questions about the clinic's financial practices and their commitment to providing thorough care even when the visit is complimentary. For users in Singapore, it's crucial to find a "Pet Hospital" where transparency in financial dealings and consistent, attentive care are prioritized.

Promotional Information: Balancing Positive Endorsements with Service Concerns

Based on the feedback, promotional information for VCA Animal Medical Center could highlight the kindness and knowledge of their team, as well as the comfort level experienced by long-term clients. Testimonials like the positive one could be used to showcase their caring approach. However, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the concerns raised in the other review regarding the holding deposit for a complimentary exam and the perceived lack of thoroughness during that visit. A balanced approach might involve emphasizing the positive aspects while also ensuring transparency about their policies and striving for consistent service quality across all interactions.

For "Pet Hospitals" in Singapore, promotional efforts often focus on their experienced veterinarians, comprehensive services, state-of-the-art facilities, and positive patient outcomes. In the case of VCA Animal Medical Center, any promotional messaging should ideally reflect both the positive experiences some clients have had and an awareness of areas where improvements might be needed to ensure consistent client satisfaction.

In conclusion, VCA Animal Medical Center in Van Nuys is a "Pet Hospital" that has garnered both positive feedback regarding the kindness and knowledge of its staff and concerns about financial practices and the quality of service received during a complimentary exam. For pet owners in Singapore seeking a "Pet Hospital," these contrasting experiences underscore the importance of considering various aspects, including the clinic's reputation for compassionate care, transparency in billing, and consistency in service quality across all types of consultations. It is advisable to look for a pattern of consistently positive reviews that address these key areas when making a decision about your pet's healthcare provider.

When choosing a "Pet Hospital" in Singapore, consider looking for clinics that demonstrate:

  • A consistently caring and knowledgeable staff.
  • Transparent and fair financial practices.
  • A commitment to providing thorough and attentive care regardless of the nature of the visit.
  • Positive feedback across a range of customer experiences.

By evaluating these factors, you can make a more informed decision when selecting a "Pet Hospital" in Singapore that will best serve the needs of your beloved pets.

I was charged a holding deposit for a complimentary exam and didn’t receive a refund until I submitted a formal request. Unfortunately, the doctor seemed to lose interest in addressing my concerns once he realized it was a free visit. I mentioned that we’d have insurance starting the following month, and he told us to return later - but didn’t provide any guidance on what preventative care or tests we should plan for. Overall, it felt like a waste of time, and I still have no idea what steps to take now even though we have full insurance with preventative care included.

Great experience all around. First off, I was able to make an appt within the week (maybe I got lucky) and they have parking in the front. Since my dog is reactive they fully organized the office to accommodate her and got her right into a room. I only waited like 1 minute and then the doctor was in and talking to me. She was also very thorough and informative. I was so impressed.

I love Dr. Viete. She is the reason I keep returning even though I live almost an hour away. She is so gentle and kind. My animals LOVE her. I’ve been bringing my pets to her for over 10 years.

This place is more interested in money than actually caring about your pet Their care club puppy plan consist of : Puppy Plan Unlimited Exams' Visit us for as many exams as you need to keep your pppy happy and healthy. On-Demand Access Manage your membership through the myVCA app and stay connected with 24/7 Live Chat. 2 Early Disease Detection and Diagnostic Testing? 2 fecal exams to detect parasites (including Giardia). Vaccines? Rabies, distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, Bordetella and canine influenza. Deworming • Up to 3 deworming treatments • Includes medication for positive fecal results Microchipping and Annual Membership Get piece of mind knowing you have the best chance of finding your puppy if they ever get lost They wasted me and my puppy’s time on 4 occasions due to telling me they accepted cash and then telling me they accepted only a debit or credit card. When I told them I had a visa debit they changed the care club plan from $50.99 to $58.99 out of thin air I said you can’t just change the price when the initiated price is on all your flyers promoting the Puppy Care Club for $50.88 a month. I am so appalled on how they treated my puppy. It was like her health (she desperately needs her shots) and being chipped was completely ignored on why we were there to begin with. They told us my Visa Debit wasn’t good enough for payment so my puppy could be apart of their ‘Care Club’. After 4! Visits and NO ACTIONS WERE TAKEN into giving my pup her booster shots and being chipped. So discrimination was definitely apart of my puppy and my families experience. Dr. D & the supposed supervisor Gisell were the worst. Very cold towards my pup & thats a number #1 sign of keep your animals well being and health issues away from this cold hearted VCA! I’m going to be taking further steps on the way they treated my beautiful Siberian husky pup and my family. My money and visa debit is just as green as anyones else’s money. So why wasn’t mine good enough?!¿ They basically said I all of a sudden needed a credit card when my 3 previous visits YES 3 and no shots given or chipping done to my puppy. When they kept saying cash was accepted as well. Well they wasted our time and in their eyes if you don’t have a credit card you’re not good enough to own a pet and that your pets health doesn’t matter. All animal clinics/hospitals should obviously make the animals welfare #1. But at this location money talks & bs walks. I hope this place loses it license to stay open and the Veterinarians who work here all realize why they became vets and work at a place that truly care more about the animal that comes in through their doors. Shame on this VCA on Oxnard!
