Surgical Services: Should your pet require surgery, our experienced veterinarians are skilled in performing a variety of surgical procedures. This can range from routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries. Jan 16, 2025 · Megan PriebeAfter 2 trips to wyandotte animal hospital VCA saved the day with our tiny tinker baby! Thank you so much for not being afraid of our kitty. Very friendly calm and caring staff from the desk to the doctor. Couldn't be happier.
Apr 08, 2025 · Virginia Johnson Family Benefits AgencyWe’ve always felt welcomed when bringing Auzi in for her appointments, but today was an extremely disappointing and disrespectful experience. We came in for her routine vaccines, which are typically quick and straightforward. However, Dr. Wheat apparently believed we were there to discuss nutrition. I mentioned that Auzi eats a raw diet. Since we don’t regularly see Dr. Wheat, I didn’t go into full detail about her meals. Instead of a respectful discussion, I was met with harsh criticism about the diet being “unsafe” for both me and my dog. Auzi is almost 5 years old and has thrived on this diet with no health issues. When I mentioned giving her cottage cheese, Dr. Wheat dismissed me abruptly, stating, “Well, don’t give her cottage cheese because dogs are lactose intolerant,” in a condescending tone—as if I hadn’t done my research. The interaction ended with her slamming the door, and I felt so uncomfortable that I had to reschedule with our usual veterinarian. That vet reassured me that Auzi is healthy, happy, and clearly well cared for, and told me to keep doing what I’m doing. Based on this experience, I would never recommend Dr. Wheat. Her approach was unprofessional, dismissive, and lacked the compassion you expect from a veterinary professional.
May 10, 2025 · Amyree WashingtonAll the Vet Tech's are really great, they are friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Wheat initially saw my pet last year for her first visit and was extremely nice and gentle. I would not recommend seeing Dr. Hans who recently saw my cat for her annual, she is aggressive and cold. I plan on continuing to take my pet to VCA, but my cat will not be seeing Dr. Hans again.
Jan 20, 2025 · BethI found a lost Schitzu Maltese Mix in Detroit who had been in a fire and was missing for 4 days. I called VCA for help. VCA happily scanned for a microchip, weighed, examined, dressed the dogs' wounds, and helped reunite the dog with the proper owner. The owner came in with proof of a match and paid for bloodwork to address that there was no internal bleeding.
