Valparaiso Animal Hospital has truly impressed us! From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. We arrived for our appointment and were immediately taken to an examination room, which was a huge plus. My cat, who is typically very anxious during vet visits, was understandably terrified, but the staff were patient and genuinely tried to soothe her. The veterinarian was wonderful, providing thorough care and addressing all our concerns with compassion. What really stood out was the cleanliness of the facility and the pleasant, fresh scent. Our previous vet's office always had an unpleasant odor, but Valparaiso Animal Hospital is impeccably clean and inviting. We are so happy to have found such a caring and professional vet.

This morning, my baby Gus (male cat) needed to get neutered, and I was super stressed about it. Seeing how energetic and loveable he is, it breaks my heart to have him hate me after this. Prior outside waiting for the clinic to open a train went by... and I've never seen Gus so afraid it broke my heart. It just stressed me out even more... I'm so happy the staff was positive the entire time I was there. Brandy was very comforting about the process and how exactly everything would go. Picking my baby up, I was so pleased to be informed that the surgery went well and that he got lots of cuddles/pets from the staff. I was so stressed out that he would be tramatized. Thankfully, with the heartwarming staff to comfort him, he wasn't. I believe all the staff go above and beyond to make sure our pets are being taken care of. I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone!

They poisoned my cat. Last week we brought our sweet kitten because he had been licking at his side and had ripped some hair out leaving scabs from over grooming. Dr Jill Butler was dismissive and very reluctant to perform any tests on him and suggested it was probably because of stress, and offered to sell us some wall diffusers to calm him down. A few days later, it got worse and the spots were red again. We booked another appointment and got in yesterday. We had to insist on testing because they were hesitant again and it came back with no issues but they offered an oral steroid and a mousse to soothe the itching that he might've been experiencing. My husband specifically asked Dr Butler if there were any side effects if our cats accidentally licked some after application and if it was safe to try before the onesie came in. She said "it won't do anything" and not to worry about it. We gave him the mousse, we played with him for 15 minutes or so to distract him while it dries as the directions on the bottle says to not rinse, everything seemed fine. Around 1 am several hours later, I hear him gargling from the cat tower. He doesn't purr loudly so I thought it was a hairball at first, but it sounded very different. (It's usually higher pitched and sounds more like sneezes) For hours he was struggling to breathe. Sounded like he had fluid in his lungs. I tried to look up the steroid side effects, no one has mentioned an issue like this with them. I then go to look up this mousse and reviews are filled with people having the same problem. This product gives cats severe reactions and respiratory issues, many cases of cats straight up passing away because of this product. It's a wonder that it hasn't been recalled, but that is capitalism for you. With so many vets just trying to meet a quota of pushing products, I urge you to find another care center for your pets. Ones that care to stay updated on bad products and reports from other vets. Most importantly, keep this product far, far away from your cats. maybe it's fine for your horses or dogs, but it is absolutely toxic to cats. Almost 24 hours later and my poor boy still isn't breathing normally.

The Vet was able to see Chipper the same day I called and we decided to put him on Hills Science diet Biome canned dog food and probiotic powder for a few days. Overnight his stool looked normal. I’m so pleased.
