If you love your fur baby, this is the vet office for you. I have a special needs french bulldog and have been coming to this vet office for over 3 years now. The medical care, and emotional care, is superb. I wish I could list every staff person’s name to thank them, because I’m sure they’ve all interacted with us at some point! From the vets, to the techs, and the front desk. They’re great. Yes, you’ll need an appointment, and yes they charge slightly more than the average office. But the care is unmatched. I don’t even ask for a specific vet - I trust them all. And every time I bring my dog in, they all remember him and read up on his chart notes before walking into our room. They even read the notes from ER’s I’ve had him at, eye doctor appointments, etc. I wish my doctors treated me this well! They answer all of my questions, they give me multiple care options, and are honest with me. I really couldn’t ask for better.

We started taking our pup Maple to the upper east veterinary center since he was 12 weeks. As a first time dog and puppy parent, we had many uncertainties whenever something felt off for Maple. When Maple’s diarrhea seemed severe, I called the office and was seen the same day. When he had an ear infection, or a bad episode of vomiting, he was seen either the same day or next. We’ve seen different doctors at the office but every doctor and technician we interacted with was professional, informative and reassuring. Maple also had his neutering procedure done in the office and he recovered super smoothly as well. As we moved out of the city, I cannot thank enough the staff at the office for taking care of Maple who’s grown to be a healthy and confident pup (or more so of me and my husband as first time dog owners).

Dr. Goldberg, Dr. Pressler, Dr. Morris, the vet techs, and the rest of the Upper East Vet Center team are all wonderful! They’re all thorough and caring. They’ve taken care of my dog since she was a puppy- I couldn’t recommend this vet more if you live on the UES.

I echo a lot of the one-star ratings. The staff needs to get organized or Dr. Goldberg is going to lose her best clientele. We moved to the city a year ago with our three French bulldogs. Things have been great. The doctors did a great job getting them up-to-speed in the city and they were AMAZING when my middle guy had an ulcer on a day we were leaving the country. The doctor rushed to get him in same-morning at the best dog ophthalmologist in the city. They had him in for surgery immediately and he was well taken care of, making a full recovery. A lingering issue I am leaving this office over despite all of the major wins is lack of organization. I have worked in client-facing capacities for my entire career: CHEAP, FAST, GOOD- service providers should aim to provide 2/3. That being said, this office is extremely expensive, which is absolutely fine. But then you have to be fast, and you have to be good. All year, my youngest needs a 1x/6-8wk Cytopoint shot for allergies. Despite asking every visit for a reminder, 4x now, he gets itchy- almost always on a Friday- the vet is open and will tell me they can't get him in same-day between other appointments. For a single shot. Today, I was told on a Friday the soonest he could get in for a Cytopoint shot is next Tuesday. I have been to vet offices (in four states throughout just this dog's life) that were much worse than this one and they could always fit in a last-minute vaccination same-day. If you can't, you have to organize the schedule better. My dogs have the same ailments we get 2-3 email reminders for months in advance. I do my due diligence by scheduling them and being as good a dog parent as possible, getting them to the office on time, etc. For the money, the annoyance of dealing with this while my dog can't sleep through the night because he's itchy (when we found out he had an allergy and an out-of-state vet wouldn't see him for a week, he ended up with an infection on his skin and needed rounds of antibiotics in addition to being uncomfortable despite over-the-counter remedies) is something I'm willing to leave the office for. I especially don't appreciate how the CUSTOMER has been told in email correspondence the office is busy and can't keep up with the volume of pets (and that service will be affected if you don't fill out the same paperwork each time that asks for information in the vet's records)... When you charge above market rate, you cannot and should not share this with your customers. Hire some people, get a better CRM program. But don't put your shortcomings and disorganization on your customers. While I wrote this, my husband was able to get our dog in for Cytopoint at 3pm today (it's currently after 11am) at another vet.

Honestly one of the greatest around. Dr. Goldberg and her entire staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, skilled and kind. They handled my delicate little lemon of a cat with such love. My boy was in such pain, had to have 10 teeth extracted, and now he’s finally back to himself now! Worth every penny.
