Welcome to Tropicana Animal Hospital
Welcome to the online introduction of Tropicana Animal Hospital, located at 2385 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119, USA. Operating under the platform category of "Pet Hospital," Tropicana Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary services to the local Las Vegas community. As a pet hospital, they are expected to offer a range of medical and wellness services for animal companions, potentially including boarding facilities. However, the publicly available information consists of two contrasting customer reviews that highlight significantly different experiences with the hospital's policies and medical care.
As a "Pet Hospital," Tropicana Animal Hospital's intended scope of services likely includes routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, diagnostic procedures, medical treatments, and potentially surgical services. The fact that they offer boarding is explicitly mentioned in one of the reviews. Boarding services typically involve providing temporary housing and care for pets when their owners are away. However, the review also raises serious concerns about the policies and communication related to boarding, particularly concerning payment issues and the handling of pets whose owners are unable to make timely payments.
One customer review paints a very negative picture of Tropicana Animal Hospital, focusing on their experience with the boarding of three cats. This reviewer alleges that the hospital caused significant mental distress by preventing visits due to payment issues and subsequently putting the cats up for adoption, claiming abandonment despite the owner's regular calls and previous visits. The review further mentions unprofessional conduct, including a doctor allegedly stating over the phone that the owner would never get their cats back. This account raises serious concerns about the hospital's communication practices, payment policies related to boarding, and the emotional impact on pet owners.
In stark contrast, the second customer review expresses immense gratitude towards Tropicana Animal Hospital, specifically highlighting the life-saving care provided by Dr. Gomez and the staff for their dog. This reviewer was initially hesitant due to a modest 3.9-star rating but decided to seek a second opinion after three other animal hospitals recommended euthanasia for their dog's bladder stones. According to this review, Dr. Gomez and the team treated their dog with great care, leading to a successful surgery and a healthy recovery. The reviewer explicitly states their intention to continue using Tropicana Animal Hospital for future services and expresses profound gratitude for the positive outcome.
Given these two highly contrasting reviews, it is challenging to provide a definitive overview of the environment, services, and features of Tropicana Animal Hospital. The negative review suggests potential issues with communication, boarding policies, and perhaps a lack of empathy in certain situations. The positive review, however, strongly indicates the presence of skilled and caring medical professionals, particularly Dr. Gomez, capable of handling complex medical cases and providing life-saving treatment.
Regarding the environment, a typical pet hospital should offer a clean and safe space for examinations, treatments, and boarding if that service is provided. Examination rooms should be equipped for consultations and minor procedures, and boarding areas should be secure and comfortable for the animals. The positive review's focus on the successful treatment of a serious condition suggests that the medical facilities are adequate for surgical procedures and postoperative care. However, the negative review provides no insight into the physical environment of the hospital.
The services offered by Tropicana Animal Hospital likely include general veterinary care such as wellness exams, vaccinations, and routine medical treatments. The positive review highlights their ability to diagnose and treat a severe condition like bladder stones in dogs, which may involve surgical intervention. The mention of boarding in the negative review confirms that this is also a service they provide. However, the specifics of their diagnostic capabilities, surgical expertise beyond the described case, and other potential services (like dental care or specialized treatments) are not detailed in the provided information.
Features of Tropicana Animal Hospital, based on the reviews, are mixed. A potential positive feature is the presence of skilled veterinarians like Dr. Gomez, who are described as life-saving and caring. The willingness to treat a condition deemed hopeless by other clinics suggests a determined and capable medical team. However, a significant negative feature, based on the other review, could be the hospital's policies and communication regarding boarding, particularly in situations of payment difficulties.
Promotional information is absent from the provided text. There are no mentions of special offers, discounts, or unique programs that Tropicana Animal Hospital might use to attract local users.
In conclusion, the available customer reviews for Tropicana Animal Hospital present a dichotomy of experiences. One review raises serious concerns about their boarding policies and communication, alleging unprofessional conduct and emotional distress. The other review offers high praise for Dr. Gomez and the staff, crediting them with saving a dog's life after other hospitals recommended euthanasia. Local users should carefully consider these contrasting accounts. While the positive review indicates the potential for excellent medical care, the negative review highlights potential issues with other aspects of their services. Further research or seeking additional testimonials might be advisable before making a decision about entrusting the care of a pet to Tropicana Animal Hospital.

Jan 31, 2025 · Monique LealI was hesitant to go all the way across town to this place especially because it only had a 3.9 rating. Despite my reservations I went hoping to find a vet that could help my dog. I’m glad I did. Dr Gomez and the rest of their amazing staff saved my dog’s life! I had 3 other animal hospitals tell me euthanize my 3 year old dog because of bladder stones. This place treated my fur baby like he mattered. We are a month postoperative and my little guy is happy and healthy! I’m forever grateful and will continue to using them for his future services!
Jan 10, 2025 · ashley HunterI've been waiting for the next snow, I came in with my pup Black Bear. He had contracted parvo from a local dog pound for eating someone's Uber Eats. The price to monitor in-house was very expensive and the Vet was very straight up. She gave us the option to take him home and learned me all the knowledge I needed to tend to my boy. He was 2 months at the time. He is now 1 years old. And the sweetest little lad, thank you to all the animal caring staff there.

Dec 04, 2024 · Rodney GriffinFirst, mahalo/thank you to Tropicana Animal Hospital for their array of professional services, outstanding work ethic, & LOVE towards our fur babies! We want to recognize our UNBELIEBLE AMAZING Veterinarian, Dr. Sandra Gomez, who truly cares & loves animals! Our American Bully, Midnight, had Pyometra & Dr. Gomez did her surgery, which was a life-threatening condition. The Pyometra surgery was done over three (3) years ago with no side effects. Currently, Midnight is in quarantine for something she did not do. But with Dr. Gomez there, we are beyond blessed to know that Midnight will be fine with the whole team @ Tropicana Animal Hospital. MAHALO THANK YOU, Dr. Sandra Gomez, for all you do, especially for our Midnight. Love, Gil Sammi
