After relocating to Olney a few years ago, we chose Town & Country as our go-to veterinarian based on its proximity and community presence. Initially, our experiences were average—nothing particularly negative, but nothing outstanding either. A pivotal change occurred following the departure of Dr. Moran, who had been a standout at the practice. During a recent visit with our pet, who had been experiencing some health issues, the care seemed rushed and impersonal. Our pet yelped in either pain or fear during a part of the very brief examination when her hind legs were checked. The exam lasted like 30 seconds, giving the impression that the veterinarian was in a hurry, perhaps overly busy. Afterward, we requested our pet’s records be transferred to our previous veterinarian, only to find that the notes from Town & Country were minimal and somewhat unclear. This experience has been disheartening, as we had hoped to rely on our local clinic for compassionate and thorough care. Our pets are more than just animals; they are family members who deserve to be treated with respect and kindness. Unfortunately, I felt this was not our experience with Town & Country, and we have since decided to take our pet’s care elsewhere. Disappointed but hopeful for better experiences in the future.

2/24/25 I am editing my 5 star review under Dr. Sarah Moran to a 2 star review. I brought my cat in one month ago for a wellness visit to see about treating her for worms. The doctor suggested a basic bloodwork panel to check kidneys and heartworm test that totaled $300. I am a FT unpaid caregiver, so that was a huge expense. The exam was cursory at best. It’s now been a month - no follow up from office with test results. I called and left a message. The vet called back and I missed her call. She didn’t leave any results. I called back and she was at lunch. I was told she’s call back. Nope, no call all afternoon. I called near closing time. Was told she was finishing up with a patient and would call me back. Nope. It’s now Monday and 2pm and still no call back. I phoned frustrated and the receptionist cut me off and put me on hold without saying a word. She phoned back to lie and say the phone got disconnected. So how did I hear the hold music then? She also told me maybe they weren’t the right fit for my pets. Yes, no longer. I share this only if it will help another pet owner whose funds are very tight not to waste their money on the lack of care, concern and follow through since Dr. Sarah Moran retired. She was legendary and all you could ever want in a vet. I drove out from DC because she knew her stuff, had a sense of humor, and truly cared about kitties and understood that caring for the pet parent was as important as her patients at times. Dr. Moran always kept my costs as low as possible and she’d call me with results at night long after the clinic closed and even on the weekend when the clinic was closed. I was never afraid to keep up wellness checks because I trusted her to keep it affordable though give me options. It’s not the same place by a long shot without Dr. Moran. The End of Edit Town & Country is a cut above the rest whether you need advice, a referral, choosing an affordable treatment plan or your newly adopted shelter cat needs to be fit in to their already full schedule that day. Dr. Moran is my favorite vet ever for her expertise, kindness and willingness to help clients choose the best course of care for their budget. I recently saw Dr. Spera for a same day appt. Coming from DC, I decided to wait at the nearby strip mall for Nellie Bly to be seen as a drop-in. Dr. Spera was professional, efficient and willing to answer all of my questions. She gave me progress reports before and after Nellie Bly's treatment, was sensitive to my not having to wait too long and phoned the next day to check on her. Whether you live in Olney or elsewhere, their hours are generous and so is their time when you need it most! I would not hesitate to recommend Town & Country to be your partner in providing quality vet care for all of your fur babies!

My wife and I have been clients of Town & Country Animal Clinic in Olney for a few years and are so pleased with their excellent care and service. Yesterday, after much agonizing, we took our beloved Teddy (Wheaten Terrier - 14 years) for a consultation with Dr. Wilmot before having him put down. I called for an appointment yesterday morning and they were completely booked for the week but the very competent and caring lady on the phone (Christina, I believe) said she would check with the vets on duty and call me back, which she did a few minutes later. I arrived at 11:45 and put in a room with my dog until the vet came in and spent a lot of time speaking with me and my son before we collectively arrived at the decision to put him down. I am so grateful and appreciative for their caring service, from start to finish. Thank you!

My Chihuahua mix was neutured recently. Sarah Moran, DVM did an excellent neuter surgery on him. My small dog healed in a week and was back to his normal self the next day.
