Jami is so knowledgeable and comes with high praise from the neurologist. I’m so impressed with her professionalism and kindness toward our injured dog. She took her time to understand our dog’s needs, was patient with the “getting to know you” phase, explained the injury, her methods, explained how we could work with our dog at home, and is completely dedicated to getting our dogs healed and well enough to graduate from her program. I would recommend her to anyone whose dogs need physical therapy.

This would typically include specialized equipment areas, such as an underwater treadmill for hydrotherapy, mat areas for therapeutic exercises, and possibly designated spaces for massage and cold laser therapy. The atmosphere is likely geared towards patience and encouragement, recognizing that animals in rehabilitation may be in pain or recovering from injury. The welcoming front courtyard mentioned in property listings for the address suggests a pleasant exterior that could contribute to a positive initial impression for visitors. The personalized nature of their services implies a setting where individual attention is prioritized, creating a comfortable and focused environment for each pet's unique needs.
Therapaws offers a comprehensive range of specialized services centered on physical rehabilitation, fitness, and overall pet wellness. Their core offerings include:
- Animal Physical Rehabilitation: This is their primary service, catering to pets recovering from injuries, surgeries (such as spinal surgery), or managing chronic conditions like arthritis and dysplasia.
- Hydrotherapy: A key component often highlighted is the underwater treadmill, which allows pets to exercise with reduced weight-bearing stress, promoting muscle strengthening and improved mobility.
- Massage and Bodywork: Extensive massage therapies, including techniques like Tellington Touch, Swedish strokes, Tuina Chinese meridian strokes, myofascial release, and stress point/trigger point massage, are offered to relieve muscle tension and improve flexibility.
- Therapeutic Exercises: Customized exercise programs on land are designed to build strength, balance, and coordination.
- Advanced Modalities: They utilize various therapeutic technologies such as cold laser therapy (also known as acupoint laser), vibrational platforms, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy, and T.E.N.S. therapy (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), and Microcurrent.
- Stance Analyzer: This tool helps assess weight distribution and balance, aiding in precise rehabilitation planning.
- Senior Enrichment Program: Dedicated activities for senior pets focusing on mental, physical, emotional, and environmental enrichment, including massage, exercise, and mentally stimulating games.
- Waist Watchers and Weight Maintenance Programs: Tailored plans to help pets achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
- Home Exercise Plans: Personalized at-home programs with instructions, videos, pictures, and a supporting app and daily checklists, empowering owners to continue therapy at home.
- Consultations: Initial consultations are thorough, lasting 30 minutes to an hour, to determine the best and safest methods for each pet’s health and fitness goals.
- Online Zoom Sessions: Offering guided instruction for massage and stretching remotely.
- Large Animal and Equine Therapy: While specializing in small animals, they also offer equine massage and bodywork, sometimes including barn visits.
The defining features of Therapaws are its highly specialized expertise and deeply personalized approach to animal care. The owner, Jami Waldrop, is repeatedly praised for her extensive knowledge and professionalism. Her credentials are a significant feature, including being a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) from the University of Tennessee, a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP), a Certified Canine Massage Therapist (CCMT), and certified in various other modalities like acupressure and nutrition case management. This high level of specialization and certification ensures that pets receive care based on evidence-based practices in animal physical rehabilitation.
The personalized nature of their programs is another key feature. Clients consistently highlight how Jami takes her time to understand each dog's specific needs, patiently navigating the "getting to know you" phase, and thoroughly explaining the injury, therapy methods, and how owners can continue work at home. This collaborative approach empowers owners and significantly contributes to the pet's recovery process. The dedication to getting dogs "healed and well enough to graduate from her program" speaks to a goal-oriented and results-driven methodology, emphasizing the ultimate well-being and mobility of the animal.
From a promotional standpoint, Therapaws heavily relies on referrals from veterinarians and word-of-mouth testimonials from highly satisfied clients. The fact that Jami comes "with high praise from the neurologist" indicates strong professional relationships within the veterinary community, which is crucial for a specialized referral service. The glowing reviews are invaluable promotional assets, showcasing remarkable progress in pets with severe injuries, such as Slinky's recovery after spinal surgery. These emotional testimonials resonate deeply with pet owners facing similar challenges, effectively communicating the potential for significant improvement through their programs.
While explicit advertising campaigns are not detailed, the service pricing is transparently listed for initial consultations and therapy sessions, which implicitly promotes their value. The offering of at-home plans with an app and activity pedometers (for the Waist Watchers program) also serves as a modern promotional tool, providing continuous support and engagement beyond in-clinic visits. The emphasis on pets "having so much fun watching the recovery process" and the joy of seeing their pets recover is a powerful emotional appeal. Therapaws essentially promotes itself by delivering tangible, life-changing results for pets and peace of mind for their owners, fostering a strong sense of community and trust.
In conclusion, Therapaws in Upland, CA, is a unique and highly specialized "Pet Hospital" focusing on animal physical rehabilitation and wellness. Led by the highly credentialed Jami Waldrop, the facility distinguishes itself through its expert knowledge, state-of-the-art equipment (like the underwater treadmill and cold laser therapy), and a deeply personalized approach to each pet's recovery journey. Aug 03, 2024 · Beth WahbaI found Therapaws with the help of a clinic out in the desert. The owner, Jamie, is amazing. My dog had a 3 hour spinal surgery by an excellent Neurosurgeon, but it was four days after the incident and the odds were not great he would recover. I didn’t know anything about Therapaws, but called. My dog Slinky has been in PT for just a couple of weeks and his progress continues to be remarkable!! He adores the underwater treadmill, the exercises on the mat, his massages and cold laser therapy and more. And each activity is just for him and his particular needs. Nothing is generic. I hate writing reviews, but I truly want other owners who love their pets and have had hard challenges too, to know this is out there!!!! And this is an amazing way to show them how much you love them❤️❤️and I promise you will have so much fun watching the recovery process if you give it a try.
Dec 07, 2023 · Catherine WilmotBest pet therapy by far!! The water treadmill has done wonders for my fur baby who was temporarily paralyzed due to a ruptured disc. Jami gives thorough care and customized exercise plans to give pets the best shot possible at a full recovery. In just a few short weeks my fur baby has made massive strides in her recovery. I’ve tried others in the area, and they just don’t compare!

Sep 10, 2023 · Shelena JohnsonI am overwhelmed at how nice Jami was with all the dogs. I hired her for my puppies 1st birthday party and she gave massages to all the dogs that came. They looked so relaxed afterwards. All the dog owners were appreciative to have her services. Therapaws is a must have in your canines life.
