Charlie has faced many health challenges, and from the time he was just eight weeks old, they have cared for him as if he were their own. The moment I walk in I am greeted with a warm hello and they immediately ask, ‘How’s Charlie?’—a true testament to their dedication and compassion. Dr. Carson and the entire staff go above and beyond to make us feel at home, and I’m beyond grateful for their kindness and expertise. Thank you for always taking such great care of Charlie! As a vital part of the Pet Hospital category, The Vets Animal Hospital aims to be a trusted partner in ensuring the health and well-being of your pets. Understanding that pets are integral members of the family, the clinic strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for both owners and their animals. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the positive feedback regarding the staff suggests a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Based on the available information, The Vets Animal Hospital offers a range of veterinary services to address various pet health needs. One customer, The Smiths, highlights the long-term care provided to their pet Charlie, indicating that the hospital is equipped to handle ongoing health challenges from a young age. This suggests that The Vets Animal Hospital provides services beyond routine check-ups and vaccinations, potentially including diagnostics, treatment for illnesses, and possibly surgical procedures. The mention of addressing an ear/eye infection further supports this, showcasing their ability to manage common pet ailments.
A significant feature emphasized in a positive review is the dedication and compassion of the staff. The reviewer notes the personalized attention, with staff remembering their pet's name and showing genuine concern for his well-being. This level of care and attentiveness can be a crucial factor for pet owners seeking a veterinary practice where they feel heard and their pets are treated with kindness. The praise for Dr. Carson and the entire staff for making clients feel at home underscores the importance they place on client relations and a supportive environment.
However, it is essential to present a balanced perspective based on all available information. One detailed review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the practices of the clinic owner, Dr. Carson. This customer raises concerns about potentially unnecessary procedures leading to high bills and a lack of transparent communication regarding added expenses. The specific instance of a costly ear/eye infection treatment and a subsequent expensive vaccine appointment are cited as examples.
Furthermore, this reviewer describes an incident involving their anxious and somewhat aggressive dog where a disagreement arose regarding the best course of action for administering necessary care. The reviewer felt that the owner, Dr. Carson, intervened and pushed for procedures to be done on the same day, even after a plan was made with another veterinarian to administer anxiety medication and return on a different day. This intervention allegedly led to the dog being injured during muzzling and the owner continuing to pressure for additional costly procedures. This account raises concerns about the clinic owner's approach to patient care, communication, and financial transparency.
The negative review also mentions a past incident where the clinic owner allegedly "berated" the reviewer's husband regarding their choice of dog training. This suggests a potential issue with professional boundaries and unsolicited opinions on pet care decisions made by the owners.
Despite the serious concerns raised in the negative review, the customer acknowledges positive experiences with other veterinarians and technicians at the clinic. This indicates that while there may be issues with the clinic's ownership or certain practices, some members of the staff are still providing satisfactory care. However, the overall experience for this customer was negative enough to warrant seeking veterinary care elsewhere.
Considering the information available, potential local users should be aware of both the positive feedback regarding the caring staff and the negative experiences related to the clinic owner's approach to billing and treatment decisions. It is advisable for pet owners to have open and clear communication with their chosen veterinary care provider regarding treatment plans, associated costs, and any concerns they may have.
While no specific promotional information is provided in the reviews, the positive testimonials, particularly the one from The Smiths, can be seen as an indication of the potential for dedicated and compassionate care at The Vets Animal Hospital. The fact that they have cared for a pet with multiple health challenges from a young age suggests a commitment to long-term patient well-being. However, the negative review serves as a crucial reminder for potential clients to exercise due diligence and potentially seek further information or clarification regarding the clinic's practices and policies.
In conclusion, The Vets Animal Hospital in Windsor, CO, operates within the Pet Hospital category and offers veterinary services for pets. While some customers have reported positive experiences with the caring staff and comprehensive care, others have raised significant concerns about billing practices, treatment decisions made by the clinic owner, and communication. Local users are encouraged to consider all available information and perhaps seek direct communication with the clinic to address any specific questions or concerns before entrusting their pet's care to The Vets Animal Hospital.

Feb 19, 2025 · chemicals poolI’m very disappointed in the practices of the clinic owner Dr. Carson. I feel as though her main objective is to make your bill as high as possible. Previously I took my dog in for an ear/eye infection that ended up costing almost $400 dollars. There were things done that I believe were completely unnecessary and were not discussed as an added expense. A week later I went back for his vaccines and yearly exam that was over $200. Today, I was with a different doctor who I was very impressed with. When my dog was showing way too much anxiety (and some aggression) we made a choice together that it would be best to come back a different day with some anxiety medication. I was content with her treatment plan in the meantime and agreed my dog was under too much stress. That’s when the clinic owner stepped in and had me do things all over again with my dog, just outside. When she had me muzzle him, he of course fought against it and it ended up cutting his nose. My dog was less stressed outside, but still not in a good position to continue. It would’ve been so much better for him to come back with anxiety meds a different day like I was going to do in the first place. She was then very pushy about do more things for him today after all this. I let her know I would rather wait, and have my husband come along. She still pushed to add an extra $300+ procedure to do today. I again had to refuse. My total today was almost $300 today with the expectation that I will bring him back within a couple weeks to have $400 worth of stuff done then. My husband has also had trouble with Dr. Carson in the past about the training we chose for our dog. She berated him about it. Our rescue dog desperately needed training. We spent good money, at reputable facility, to do it so that he could have a forever home with us. The fact that she thought it was her place at all to lecture my husband is crazy. We have tried to see past all these things, because we do love the technicians and the other veterinarians, but today was the final straw. We will be taking our business to a place where the owner cares about our dogs and not how much money they can get out of us
Feb 06, 2025 · Mariah SammonsDr. Carson and her team are all amazing! After 3 years of working with them, I have nothing but positive things to say. I’ve taken all our fur babies here and they’ve handled all of them with such love and care, it made me feel so comfortable. I recently lost one of my kitties unexpectedly and it was very difficult. The staff were all so incredibly supportive and helpful with the grieving process, even went above and beyond to take my calls so I could ask questions about my surviving kitty to make sure she was okay. I truly feel this facility genuinely cares about you and your fur babies, and that’s priceless. Would highly recommend!
Dec 27, 2023 · Ali BurtrawMy mom was a vet for many years, so I am a tad picky about who my dog sees. These folks get it right. My first visit with Madison (border collie) was wonderful. They took their time to get to know her first, kept her nice and calm while they did her wellness exam and drew blood work for her spay. Madison left feeling just has happy as she always is. They made sure this wasn't a traumatizing experience for either of us. Love them.
Dec 22, 2023 · Apryl LagutarisIt's okay. The technicians are polite and helpful, but my main issue is with the veterinarian. I don't think I had a single appointment where she was less than 15 minutes late. One time I had to wait about 45 minutes after the scheduled time for her to show up, which sucks when you have an animal that doesn't want to be waiting in an exam room for an extended period of time. I also feel like the vet has more of a desire for money than she does to help people. Of course, you have to make money somehow, but it's much more pleasant to go to a vet where you feel like the doctor actually cares about you and your pet. Edit: The owner's response is talking about someone other than me.
