About 5 weeks ago my 13 year old White Shepherd, Akeela, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. She had her right front leg removed in an effort to manage her pain that was being caused by the cancer. It was the hardest decision of my life. Around 3 weeks post-op her recovery took a turn for the worse. She began incessantly pacing, panting, whining, and would even let out painful yelps throughout the day. She was clearly in agony and was not healing the way she was supposed to. I had taken her to several Oncologists over a two week period and after extensive testing, they still could not tell me *what* was causing her pain. One clinic even recommended that I consider 'humane euthanasia.' We tried a variety of medications (Gabapentin, Hydrocodone, Fetanyl, Prednisone, Trazadone, etc etc.) but nothing seemed to work. I was losing hope quickly. When Akeela first went through surgery I began extensive research on 'tripawd' dogs and their recovery. I stumbled upon tripwads.com who advertise themselves as a knowledgeable community that help people adapt to tripawd life. I jumped on chat and after learning of my location, they almost instantly recommended Dr. Downing. The clinic was a little far away, but I was running out of options, so I made an appointment for the following Monday. I can honestly say Dr. Downing saved Akeela's life. And my sanity. She is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in detail. For the first time I actually had ANSWERS. Her explanation (which the Oncologists could never provide) actually made sense. It has been roughly 36 hours since our appointment and Akeela has not let out a single yelp. Nor has she started pacing, panting, or whining. I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in 11 days. And now for the first time in weeks, I finally have hope. Based on what I've seen so far, the explanation that Dr. Downing provided, and the game plan that we have in place - I genuinely believe that we are finally on the uphill side of things. We were in absolute torment for almost two weeks, but Dr. Downing is helping me to see and understand that dogs who suffer from Osteosarcoma - and have a difficult time recovering from surgery- can still go on to live happy, pain-free lives. Thank you for saving us!!!

I have two dogs that have some medical challenges. Dr. Downing has been patient and caring throughout all care procedures. She is honestly the best Veterinarian I've ever taken my pets to and she is very reasonably priced. I don't see myself going anywhere else in the future because no other Veterinarian will be able to provide for my dogs the way Dr. Downing has.

Dr. Robin has done wonders for my dog. He was suffering through diarrhea after his surgery and she helped turn it around. He’s doing very well with the water treadmill and Dr. Robin is helping him heal and get better. Definitely recommend if you want someone to do what’s best for your pups.
