Hello, my name is Saint. I was adopted from Miami 12/23. I’m 6 months old, living my best life with my new furever family❤️ Unfortunately, not only did my new family find out I was deaf, I was also diagnosed with Ocular FIP 2/25/24. Luckily my mom was able to connect with Global FIP group on Facebook for amazing support & get started on treatment 2/26. As time is not on my side with this deadly disease. We were also very lucky to be welcomed with loving arms to Sylvans Animal Clinic & I just had my 1st of 6 rounds of CBC. My mom was very anxious about this with me being deaf, until we walked through the door. The Doctor, technicians & receptionists were absolutely wonderful. They were ALL so nice & treated us both with such tender loving care. My mom & I couldn’t be more happier with their services. Not to mention, I really loved & appreciated the comfort kisses on my head & neck while my blood was being drawn. Thats how my mom soothes & comforts me 🥰 So we wanted to leave a much deserved AWESOME review in hopes to remind other pet parents to be gentle & extra kind to the ones that are caring for our fur babies. With that being said….We were absolutely disgusted & felt really bad to watch a grown man before us. He was yelling & being so disrespectful to ALL the (female) staff that were helping him. YOU BULLY!!! It took everything in me to keep my mouth shut. SHAME ON HIM!!!!! 😡 REMEMBER to treat people how you want to be treated, especially if they are caring for your fur babies 🙏🏻 Thank you again Sylvan Animal Clinic ❤️

Environment: A Haven of Compassion and Understanding

The environment at Sylvan Animal Clinic is clearly designed to be welcoming and reassuring, especially for pets with special needs and their anxious owners. The experience of "Saint," a deaf puppy diagnosed with Ocular FIP, vividly illustrates this. The owner's initial anxiety, due to Saint's deafness and the severity of his condition, was immediately alleviated upon entering the clinic. The review states, "The Doctor, technicians & receptionists were absolutely wonderful. They were ALL so nice & treated us both with such tender loving care." This highlights a warm and supportive atmosphere created by every member of the staff.

The clinic's ability to maintain a calm and comforting environment is further evidenced by Saint's positive reaction during a potentially stressful procedure: "I really loved & appreciated the comfort kisses on my head & neck while my blood was being drawn." This detail speaks volumes about the staff's gentle handling techniques and their understanding of animal behavior and comfort cues. For a deaf animal undergoing a critical treatment like a CBC, such empathy is paramount. The facility, therefore, is not just a building but a space where tender loving care is palpable, contributing to a less stressful experience for both pets and their families.

The clinic also fosters an environment of mutual respect, as subtly reinforced by the negative interaction observed with another client. The staff's professionalism in the face of disrespectful behavior, despite the emotional impact on onlookers, further underscores their dedication to maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all who enter their doors.

Comprehensive Services Offered

As a "Pet Hospital," Sylvan Animal Clinic provides a broad spectrum of veterinary medical services. While not all services are explicitly listed, the detailed review about Saint's care offers strong insights into their capabilities:

  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Complex Conditions: The clinic was instrumental in managing "Ocular FIP" (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a severe and often deadly disease. This indicates their capacity to diagnose and initiate treatment for complex and critical illnesses, working in conjunction with external support groups like the "Global FIP group on Facebook." The administration of the "1st of 6 rounds of CBC" (Complete Blood Count) further demonstrates their capability in ongoing medical management and monitoring of serious conditions.

  • Routine Medical Procedures: The performance of blood draws (CBC) is a fundamental diagnostic and monitoring tool, suggesting proficiency in a wide range of routine medical tests and procedures essential for diagnosis and treatment.

  • Care for Special Needs Pets: The successful and compassionate handling of a deaf puppy highlights their ability to adapt their approach for animals with sensory impairments or other special requirements, ensuring a comfortable and effective veterinary visit.

  • Preventative Care and Wellness (Implied): While not directly mentioned in the review, a "Pet Hospital" typically provides essential preventative services such as vaccinations, parasite control, routine check-ups, and nutritional counseling to maintain overall pet health. Given their compassionate approach, it's highly probable they emphasize proactive wellness.

  • General Veterinary Consultations: The presence of a "Doctor" indicates that they offer comprehensive consultations, allowing pet owners to discuss health concerns, receive diagnoses, and understand treatment plans.

  • Surgical and Dental Services (Likely): While not specifically detailed, most full-service "Pet Hospitals" are equipped for common surgical procedures (e.g., spays, neuters, lump removals) and dental cleanings, essential for comprehensive animal care.

The history of a long-term client bringing "all my cats here (7 total) though out the years" further attests to the clinic's ability to provide consistent and reliable care over extended periods for multiple pets, building enduring client relationships.

Promotional Information and Client Testimonials

The detailed review from Saint's owner serves as an incredibly powerful and authentic testimonial, acting as the clinic's most compelling promotional material. It's a narrative that clearly communicates the clinic's values and quality of care far more effectively than traditional advertising. The story highlights:

  • Empathy in Crisis: How the clinic supports owners through terrifying diagnoses like FIP.

  • Consideration for Special Needs: Their approach to deaf animals, ensuring their comfort.

  • Positive Patient Experience: Even during a blood draw, the comfort provided to the pet is noted.

  • Professionalism Under Pressure: Their handling of difficult client interactions, reinforcing their integrity.

The call to action within the review, "REMEMBER to treat people how you want to be treated, especially if they are caring for your fur babies 🙏🏻," subtly yet powerfully promotes the clinic's humane and respectful ethos, encouraging potential clients to choose a practice that embodies such values. The overarching message is one of profound appreciation and a strong recommendation based on firsthand, deeply personal experiences. The second review, though brief, reinforces this sentiment of long-standing positive experiences and understanding from the veterinary staff.

Sylvan Animal Clinic is Awesome, This is the place to take your furry friend to the staff members are awesome and amazing the doctor's are awesome. I brought my dog Alexis their in 2006 to get her spayed and Dr Steve which is no longer there but anyway he and the staff took very good care of my little baby girl. The staff was great especially putting up with me calling every half hour to check up on my buddy. The other doctors are great I couldn't ask for a better veterinarian's then here.

This was my 1st time there. I found Dr Keyes to be very thorough and she really listened to me. She was honest and didn't try to sell me shots my pups didn't absolutely need. I found the staff to be very pleasant and the prices are pretty reasonable. I also liked that they didn't pressure me into buying any collars or other preventative medications. I am going back a second time for my 3rd dog. I would recommend Sylvan to anyone.
