I dreaded the day I would lose my first pet, my 19yo cat, who I’d had since he was 6 weeks old. I thank GOD every day for the blessing of being surrounded by the team at Sunshine when it came to sending “Tom Furry” to Heaven. They were SO kind and professional. In addition, they were wonderful throughout Tom’s life- with the most reasonable rates near us & outstanding service. LOVE this team!

In February of 2024, I took my pet, Bandit, to Sunshine. I took him in on a Thursday evening. He was not doing well and needed a blood test done. The Vet didn't seem to have much compassion for my pet, which was surprising. The following day, my dog had gotten a lot worse and we ended up taking him to Columbia Pike emergency. Sunshine decided to shut down early due to the incoming snowy conditions. Before they had closed, I had emailed them and called them multiple times that day to get the blood test information. Columbia Pike was in dire need of that blood test to continue saving my pet. I directly reached out to Sunshine and my vet and did not hear back all weekend. The ER vets were spamming phone calls to Sunshine and couldn't get through either. Sunshine would go onto send a mass forwarded email and ignore me. On Monday evening, my pets last day, I sent one last email to Sunshine to see if they would send me the blood test results. They did not. To say i'm disappointed with Sunshine is an understatement. I was met with an uncompassionate vet, charged $700, purposely ignored in an emergency situation, and have NEVER received my dogs blood test results. Had Sunshine been more diligent and responded to any calls made by Columbia Pike or myself, my dog might've had a better shot of living. To make things worse, Sunshine will NOT stop sending me mail telling me that my dog is late on his checkup. I cannot and will not recommend this place to anyone. They care more about the profits and do not have your pets best interests like they claim.

Sunshine Animal Hospital is absolutely the most wonderful place to bring your pets! My cat hadn't been to a veterinarian in a long, long time and I was so nervous about how it would play out but it went so well and the staff deserves all the credit. From Dr. Cavadel who was just THE BEST and who explained everything so thoroughly to the kind and gentle young male assistant's care, to the nice front office staff, everyone was just amazing and it meant a lot. Everything just went so smoothly and was very fairly priced too! My cat didn't cry out once shockingly, not even a hiss because he really felt safe here! Now I don't have to worry about taking him to the vet and this is the only place we'll be bringing him. Thanks again!

We bring all our cats and dogs to this practice. All the staff is friendly, caring and compassionate. The vets are top notch, and they take plenty of time with the animals - we never feel rushed. We're glad we switched from the large vet practice in town. We get much more personalized service here.

I've been taking my special needs cats and foster cats to Sunshine Animal Hospital for over 5 years now. They have always taken the time to talk with me about the pet and explain in detail their thoughts on different avenues of care. They are sensitive to the costs of care and understand this when recommending procedures and specialists. I appreciate their openness to listen to my thoughts about what might be going on with a sick pet. The staff are friendly, caring, knowledgeable and professional. I recommend them often to friends, family and rescue adopters. You cannot find a better place to take your loved, furry, family members!
