Sunset Coast Veterinary Clinic

Person answering phone was RUDE -- I called to see if they would euthanize my 18-year-old cat who had a stroke overnight (I'm a hospice nurse and can tell he's in respiratory distress, cool to touch, drooling and he is mostly unconscious but struggling to breathe/ has agonal respirations). Our normal vet office has one of their 2 vets out of town today and said they could not euthanize our cat today to ease his discomfort. (Which is why I am having to call random vets to help my cat). I have called multiple vet clinics nearby to try to get him in and relieve his suffering and of the 8 other vets I've called today, every single person answering the phone -- EXCEPT THIS LADY --have been kind and sympathetic, even when telling me no. This lady answering the phone was rude, cut me off mid sentence and said it's a service they don't offer non clients. And then HUNG UP ON ME! While I'm crying and trying to finish a sentence. Fine. I have no problem with that policy of not euthanizing NON- client pets. BUT maybe, just maybe be NICE /compassionate or HIRE people who have some mild empathy even for a stranger or AT LEAST for said stranger's DYING PET!!! Or at at the minimum someone who can PRETEND to care on the phone! ( Just FYI for those needing euthanasia for a beloved pet: Normally the animal control Berrien County WILL euthanize pets if they are at end of life. Since it appears many vets will not do that if you're not a client. And yes, we have a vet but they were unable to fit us in today. Unfortunately for our cat -- the person who does it is on vacation this week. ) I will be looking for a new veterinarian clinic for our other animals since the one we've been using for 4 and 1/2 years can't help us in a time of emergency. It will not under any circumstances be sunset Coast veterinary clinic! First impressions matter. A lot.

The staff here is super friendly and actively helpful they truly care to make sure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible. The doctor is very hands-on and willing to explain everything no matter how questions you may have. If I could give more stars I would

I LOVE the entire staff at Sunset Coast. Ours dogs (3) are healthy and happy fur babies! We'd be sad without them! 🐾

Very professional and caring vet. It didn't take long to get an initial visit.
