The first time I went to this clinic they saw my cat. Dr. Tinsley was very kind and caring It was a wonderful experience. Took care of us and was helpful. However, I came back again, this time with my little dog and got seen by a different veterinarian and older lady. She was extremely rude and judgmental to the point of borderline discrimination(I'm not someone who throws that term around lightly) She was extremely unprofessional!! Completely driven by money and didn't care about my animals. She definitely wasn't there to help anyone! We ended up being charged more than their original quote for just an office visit and due to the way we were treated, that's all I was willing to pay. It's very unfortunate too because I really liked Dr. Tinsley and wish she was at a different office. Protect your pets and your well-being... Choose a different office, this office only cares about how much money they can milk out of you. Not about actually taking care of their patients. Such a shame...

Welcome to Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital

Welcome to the local introduction of Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital, located at 13323 SE Misty Dr, Happy Valley, OR 97086, USA. This Pet Hospital has received a mix of feedback from pet owners, which we will explore to provide a balanced overview. You can contact them at (503) 658-8165 or their mobile number +1 503-658-8165.

Based on the available reviews, the environment of Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital appears to have some positive aspects. One reviewer mentioned loving the "big openness of the waiting area," suggesting a spacious and perhaps more comfortable setting for pet owners and their animals. However, no other details about the clinic's environment, such as examination rooms or other facilities, are provided in these reviews.

The services offered at Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital include general veterinary care, as indicated by the visits for a cat and a small dog. One positive experience highlights Dr. Tinsley, who was described as "very kind and caring" and helpful. This suggests that some of the veterinarians at the hospital provide excellent and compassionate care. The hospital also handles standard office visits. However, one negative review details an experience with a different, older female veterinarian who was perceived as rude, judgmental, and unprofessional, allegedly driven by money rather than the well-being of the animals. This reviewer also stated they were charged more than the original quote for just an office visit. In contrast, another recent mover to the area had a "Very happy" first experience, finding the staff and a Dr. to be "super cool." This suggests variability in the quality of care or the client experience depending on the specific veterinarian or interaction.

The features of Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital, as gleaned from the reviews, present a mixed picture:

  • Kind and Caring Veterinarians (e.g., Dr. Tinsley): Some veterinarians are reported to be very compassionate and helpful.
  • Spacious Waiting Area: One reviewer appreciated the "big openness" of this space.
  • Potentially Reasonable Pricing: One new client was "happily surprised" that the cost didn't seem high for the neighborhood.
  • Friendly Staff (in some interactions): At least one reviewer described the staff as "Awesome" and "super cool."

However, the reviews also indicate potential negative features:

  • Rude and Judgmental Staff (specific instance): One reviewer had a very negative experience with an older female veterinarian they found unprofessional and money-driven.
  • Unexpected Charges: One client reported being charged more than the initial quote for an office visit.
  • Inconsistent Experiences: The stark contrast between positive and negative reviews suggests that the quality of care and client interaction might vary.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided. However, the positive reviews, particularly the one from the recent mover who intends to travel across town to continue bringing their pet there due to the "Awesome staff," could be seen as a form of positive endorsement. Conversely, the highly negative review serves as a strong caution for potential clients.

For local users in Happy Valley, OR, considering Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital, it is important to weigh the contrasting experiences shared by other pet owners. While some have had wonderful experiences with kind and caring staff, particularly mentioning Dr. Tinsley, others have reported very negative interactions with other veterinarians, citing rudeness, unprofessionalism, and concerns about prioritizing financial gain over patient care. The discrepancy in these reviews suggests that the quality of your experience might depend on the specific veterinarian you see and your interactions with the staff.

If you are considering Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital, you might want to inquire about the availability of specific veterinarians mentioned positively in the reviews, such as Dr. Tinsley. It would also be prudent to clarify the costs of services upfront to avoid unexpected charges, as reported by one dissatisfied customer. The mention of a spacious waiting area could be a positive factor for those who prefer more open environments.

In conclusion, Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital in Happy Valley, OR, presents a mixed profile based on recent customer reviews. While some clients have experienced kindness, care, and a pleasant environment with certain staff members, others have reported negative encounters characterized by rudeness, unprofessionalism, and financial concerns. Potential clients should consider these varying perspectives when making a decision about their pet's care at this facility.

I recently moved to Portland this past year so had to find a new Dr. for my furbaby so I just picked randomly from the "phone book" and have been Very happy with my 1st choice at Sunnyside vet hospital! I was concerned they may be a little more expensive because it's 1 of the nicer neighborhoods but I was happily surprised that didn't seem to be case馃ぉ Now that I've moved already again a little farther from my initial move up here last summer I'm still going to make the trek across town to take my princess to the Awesome staff at Sunnyside Vet Hospital鉂o笍. Love the big openness of the waiting area and the staff and Dr. we're super cool馃挅

I am so thankful for Sunnyside Vet Hospital. After my cat Remi had been seeing a chain vet for 2 years due to a wound on her chin that would not go away, I looked for a second opinion at Sunnyside Vet Hospital. I worked with Dr. Hill, who thought Remi may have cancer. They got me in super quick and got going on a biopsy, as well as stitching the area up- both things the chain vet told me they couldn't do! Sadly, the biopsy came back indicating that Remi had cancer. The news was devastating, but Dr. Hill was very knowledgable on next steps and answered all of my questions. Sunnyside recommended me out to OREV in Portland, which was also an excellent choice. Remi fought her cancer from October 2024 to this month, February 2025. Sunnyside was amazing with getting us in for anything that came up - pain management, infections, regular bloodwork. I am so grateful that I had them alongside OREV throughout Remi's treatment process. Sadly, Remi's treatment did not work and we had to say goodbye to her this month, but I am so grateful for the incredible people working in this field that made this time a little easier.

Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital provided care for our cat for over 12 years. From her first visit she received care from an experienced staff. From simple exams and vaccinations to more complicated issues, the doctors and technicians made her feel comfortable and safe. There are not enough words to state our appreciation for the care our cat received throughout her life. We highly recommend them for any pet needs without hesitation.

Took my dogs in to DVM Tinsley for their annual exam today. I was given the wrong dosage (too high) for one of my dogs prescriptions, provided with a receipt that reflected inaccurate information as to my dogs, and then I charged $11 dollars without being told, for tossing a poop bag in the garbage outside. Not only did I use my own bag and not one of theirs but had I known I was going to be charged to use an outdoor garbage I would have tossed it somewhere else. It鈥檚 details like this: missing accurate dosages and adding additional charges without informing the patron that makes an establishment present as slimy and more interested in monetary gain then the health of your pet. This will be our last visit.
