Stonewall Vet caused the premature death of our cat. 11/7 we brought our cat into Stonewall Vet because she had been vomiting for about 2 days. On 11/11 we were having our 6 year old cat euthanized due to complications from kidney disease. Our cat has been seen by Stonewall Vet since we found her as a kitten in January of 2019 for her annual checkups, vaccinations and any other issues that occurred. We were NEVER informed that she had kidney stones and possibly kidney disease. We were never consulted about a care plan, change in diet, medications, nothing. As far as we were concerned she was a healthy cat that very occasionally had problems coughing up hairballs. The Dr. who saw Kiki referenced a prior visit from 12/19/23 stating that Kiki had Kidney stones, and that she had been diagnosed with kidney stones on 7/24/23. Upon reviewing her records, we found no entry for a visit on 7/24/23. It appears her records are incomplete and most entries are unreadable. We will be removing our other pets from this practice as we no longer have confidence in their ability to care for them.

Nov 17, 2024 · Tom MillerI recently had to let my beloved shih tzu Bubba cross that rainbow bridge. The care and kindness expressed by Dr. Kelly went above and beyond and brought us peace during this most difficult time. The staff was also exceptional.
May 27, 2024 · M VThis is by far the worst veterinary clinic I’ve experienced. My husband had been bringing his dog there for 18 years (this was prior to our marriage and unfortunately Buster passed away before my time). We brought our Frenchie in on Friday and they didn’t even know my husband even though it’s the same staff. Imagine doing business with any entity for 18 years and they don’t even recognize you. The veterinarian was very cold and rude. She misdiagnosed our Frenchie and charged us nearly $300 for spending roughly 10 minutes with him - no bloodwork, no urinalysis, not a thorough exam by any means. She was very adamant that we go directly to an emergency vet. She diagnosed him as having a neck injury or issue that is common in this breed. It was just guesswork. We had to spend another $600 at the emergency vet. We called Stonewall back today as his condition had worsened and they could not have been more rude on the phone - bringing up a bill that was owed for my husbands previous dog and only focusing on the money, saying we’d have to give a $300 deposit for our Frenchie to be seen again (we were there just 3 days prior). Thankfully we found New Baltimore Veterinarian Clinic - a place where everyone at the front desk, back office, and the veterinarian were empathetic and compassionate. They did a thorough examination and figured out the correct diagnosis so our dog is now getting the proper medications and treatment. I highly recommend New Baltimore Veterinarian clinic and would give Stonewall less than one star if I could. Their fees are significantly higher and they lack in empathy and compassion. All they care about is money
Sep 04, 2024 · Catherine CooperMy Parents recently moved to the area and had just established their senior pets with Stonewall Vet. This past Friday one of them had a health emergency so my Mom called to have her seen. She was met with no compassion and told there was no availability at all, no she couldn’t make an appt for the following day, and no she could drive to the office on the following day to see if they would be able to see her dog that morning when they opened. Very upset and confused, my Mom called back a while late as her dog was not improving to see if there wasn’t any way at all to have her seen and was met, again, with no compassion and was just shut down by the staff member- telling her to call the emergency vet (in a new area that she is unfamiliar with). I called another vet in the Gainesville area and was told to bring my Mom’s dog right in. She was seen and we determined that her illness was too serious so the decision was to let her go. This vet was amazing at how they handled the situation. One of my Mom’s other dogs had an upcoming dental cleaning with Stonewall but because she felt so unimportant or cared for by the staff, she called to cancel the dental appt. When asked for the reason, she told them how she she was made to feel by staff about the situation the day before. The response was just “ok”, and then she was hung up on. While we all understand that sometimes it’s difficult to get appointments, when someone who has just established themselves with a provider needs to be helped, it’s important to do your best to HELP them- not make them feel hopeless in a very sad and stressful situation. There needs to be some serious discussion with staff on how to speak their fur baby’s family in person and over the phone. This vet practice needs to work harder at not showing that you’re desensitized to patient’s stressful, URGENT, and sad pet needs. Be better or choose a different profession!!!
Sep 01, 2024 · Michelle GoughStonewall Vet is a wonderful clinic with some of the kindest people. My dog was diagnosed with kidney disease in July, and Dr. Fauss supported us and fought it all with me. She answered every question with patience and knowledge. When I ultimately had to let Bear go, everyone there was extremely supportive and helpful.
