Understanding the environment and services offered by a veterinary clinic is crucial for pet owners seeking the best care for their animals. While specific details about the clinic's physical environment are not explicitly provided in the given information, it's reasonable to expect a standard veterinary clinic setup. This typically includes examination rooms for consultations, treatment areas for administering medications and performing minor procedures, and potentially surgical suites for more complex interventions. A reception area for client interaction and administrative tasks is also a common feature. The cleanliness and organization of these areas are important indicators of the clinic's commitment to hygiene and patient well-being.
Based on the limited information, we can infer that Stevelt's Veterinary Clinic offers a range of veterinary services. The positive review mentions "through and affordable" care, suggesting that they conduct thorough examinations and provide treatments at a reasonable cost. The negative review details specific services such as feline leukemia testing, prescription medication dispensing, and the recommendation of prescription diets. The mention of "refilling the cat's prescription via Chewy" implies that they do handle prescription refills, although the clinic's policy on using external pharmacies like Chewy seems to be a point of contention for at least one customer.
Features of Stevelt's Veterinary Clinic, as perceived through the customer reviews, present a mixed picture. On one hand, the clinic is described as "friendly" and "thorough" by a satisfied customer. The negative review also mentions an instance where they offered to take a cat in between patients without a scheduled appointment, which could be seen as a feature of flexibility or willingness to accommodate urgent needs. However, this same review raises concerns about communication, as the customer states that they primarily interacted with the receptionist rather than the veterinarian.
The negative review highlights several critical points that potential local users should be aware of. The requirement of a deposit for new patients is mentioned as an unusual practice. Furthermore, the reviewer expresses concern about being "forced" to undergo a repeat feline leukemia test despite providing prior negative results. This raises questions about the clinic's protocols and whether they always consider prior veterinary history. The refusal to allow prescription refills through external pharmacies like Chewy and the alleged lack of offering a written prescription are also significant points to consider, as this can impact the cost and convenience of obtaining necessary medications.
Another serious concern raised in the negative feedback is the lack of direct communication with the veterinarian. The reviewer states that they primarily interacted with the receptionist, even regarding treatment plans and medication refills. This lack of direct consultation with the vet could be a significant drawback for pet owners who prefer a more personal and direct relationship with their animal's healthcare provider.
The negative review also advises potential customers to "always ask for an itemized receipt," as the reviewer believes they were overcharged and were not provided with a detailed breakdown of the costs. This suggests a potential lack of transparency in billing practices, which is a crucial aspect for pet owners to be mindful of.
Promotional information for Stevelt's Veterinary Clinic is not explicitly provided in the given data. Therefore, we cannot comment on any specific offers, discounts, or special services they might be promoting to attract local users. Potential customers are advised to contact the clinic directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about any current promotions or introductory offers for new patients, keeping in mind the deposit requirement mentioned in one of the reviews.
In conclusion, Stevelt's Veterinary Clinic, operating as a Pet Hospital in Logan, OH, appears to offer standard veterinary services. While one customer review praises their friendliness, thoroughness, and affordability, another review raises significant concerns regarding their practices, communication, and billing transparency. Potential local users are strongly encouraged to consider both positive and negative feedback and to make their own informed decisions. It would be prudent to inquire about their policies on new patient deposits, required testing, prescription refills, communication protocols with the veterinarian, and billing practices before committing to their services. Visiting the clinic in person, if possible, might also provide valuable insights into their environment and overall approach to pet care. As with any service provider, direct communication and clear understanding of policies are essential for a positive experience.

May 11, 2025 · Laura HurdWarning stay away from this vet! You have to give them a deposit over the phone if you want to be a new patient, that should’ve been by first indication that something was wrong with the place. I had a sick cat so I reluctantly made an appointment. I was forced to do another feline leukemia test, even though I provided proof of a negative test to them from my original vet. And I do mean forced because I was told that they would not be able to treat her without that test for $60. No surprise it turned out negative. All the while speaking to a receptionist, not the doctor. After putting my cat on prescriptions and a prescription diet (very expensive) When refilling the cats prescription via Chewy I was told by the receptionist that they would not allow me to use Chewy to fill. I had to call another vet and was told “they should’ve offered to write me a prescription so that way I could go get the food elsewhere”. My other “It is their obligation to provide service to the pets that they serve” I question their practices and their integrity after reading some of these reviews. If you are desperate and can provide the deposit to be become a patient, I would advise you it’s not worth it. I thought it was great that they offered to take my cat with in between patients without scheduling an appointment, but what I realized is, they still collect their fees and the vet never speaks to you just the receptionist. They’ll just call you on the day of your appointment to tell you that you’re no longer a patient because you asked for a prescription. PS always ask for an itemized receipt, I was not provided one and believe that I was overcharged for services and medication’s. Refer to some other reviews…

May 09, 2024 · Hailey KidwellThis clinic has taken great care of my pets since moving to the area. Including being able to make my Belgian Malinois, Charlie, comfortable enough to get her nails clipped without sedation. She had always been difficult about her nails and the staff here treated her with incredible care.
