Terrible- The vet was only to trim my dog's nails while sedated. When I got him back there was blood dripping on the exam table. They didn't tell me they deeply cut his pad. When I asked what happened they said they tried to remove matted fur. They were not authorized to cut any fur. The cut was so bad they sold me antibiotics to prevent an infection. When we got home, I noticed matted fur removed and 2 shaved and bleeding spots inside his legs! A dew claw and another nail were still long. My dog was sedated- how unprofessional and careless to cut a dog that is not even moving? They also tried to authorize me to pay for a blood draw saying one should be done every year, however they did a blood draw 4 months earlier and said they didn't record it in the records. Then I got an email on how to care for a neutered dog. The vet said they would retrim his nails at no cost and I would stay in the room. When I went for the apt. they tried to get me to sign a form to pay for the corrected nail trim. Then the vet commented that I seemed "dissatisfied" with their service. Now, they will not transfer all the vet records to our new vet. This is being directed to the State of Michigan licensing board. Do not bring your pets to this vet.

I went to this clinic for some flea medication thinking they would give me something effective, and my animals still have fleas. They up-charge like crazy too and if you need an appointment, even if it’s an emergency, it’s booked out for at least three weeks. And the reason I will not bring my animals in for appointments, I brought my puppy here for his vaccines and let them know he was a little aggressive and weary of people, and as the vet was about to give him his shot grabbed him by the neck hard, and my puppy started yelping and peeing everywhere. I was in complete shock by the blatant disregard for my puppies personal safety and lack of empathy and awareness towards him knowing how he had issues trusting people. I have never went back and I will look for another vet to treat my animals flea problem.

We have been taking our dog here recently because our prior practice had since closed. We came because of the reviews… but happily leaving after being shown their true ethics. Multiple conversations about what’s being done, the price and various other conversations. Terrible front desk etiquette, poor attitudes for veterinary staff, and blatant lack of effective communication. After making appointments, and then being asked about more “services” at the time of a procedure as a form of trying to “up sale”…. Just not my idea of taking care of someone’s loved one and fur family!! Good luck and good ridden! Happy to leave.

I've had a few pets over my life and when you've had many pets, it usually means you have to take them to a vet. Sparta animal clinic is filled with educated, friendly, understanding, and compassionate people. I wish I had found this place years ago.
