We have been very satisfied clients of SPAH for a very long time, 20+ years. When our cat became sick recently, Dr. Sophie took care of him ( and me, the concerned pet parent). I am happy to report that everyone is fine! We also have a special place in our heart for Dr. Long and Dr. Mercer! Thanks y’all… you’re great!!

Dec 17, 2024 · Diana JohnsonWe have been taking our fur babies to Southpark Animal Clinic for almost twenty years. Dr. Lisa Long and Dr.Wayne Mercer have walked us through the trials and tribulations of bringing home three new puppies and a rescue kitty, and have cried with us when we had to say good bye to all four of our previous cats. They are professional, brilliant, and loving. The vet techs and staff members provide excellent customer service and always show kindness to our animals. We love Southpark Animal Clinic and recommend this practice without reservation.
Jun 08, 2024 · Kelly HughesIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. Not proficient. Not caring. Not professional. Not respectful. NEVER take your pet here. You will be left told everything is okay when they are too lazy to do their jobs and you are left unaware that things are NOT okay. I've never seen such lack of care in my life for our babies, our everything. I am not typically one to leave reviews, but I'd rather do what they do not clearly do and have respect for people looking for a genuine veterinarian.
Dec 17, 2024 · Calli WalkerI am very dissatisfied. I called about my dog choking and she’s always chewing on things and I think she’s got something stuck in her throat and they immediately jumped to worst case scenario saying my dog may have an infection and she needs to be treated as a extremely high risk of contaminating the whole place and wanted us to sit out back behind the building in my car in the back parking waiting to be called like shes some kind of highly contagious victim that will infect everything and she cant breath in the same place as other dogs. And then the lady, I spoke to said she doesn’t know why I have such a problem. I feel that was extremely unprofessional and i canceled our appt and called long hospital and they said no such thing. Most of the time they are good but I've been going here for a very long time and they keep having these conditions of falling short. Like one time I brought my male shepherd (different dog) in to have his teeth clean and some other work done too. They had to sedate him and he woke up in the middle of it and he secreted his anal glands they gave him back to me, smelling foul as ever. My truck stunk of awful butt smells for months and they didn’t even have the audacity to give him a bath or clean his backside. I had never been so upset. Givin my dog, he’s aggressive, but all animals hospitals need the same healthcare and attention to detail and bedside matter as any other sick animal. They need to know how to handle all animals not just the easy paychecks. And that doesn’t mean to sedate every animal that’s aggressive. I used to work at animal hospital and we had to handle the dogs that were aggressive, we would muzzle they up with a short leash and put a blanket over their head so they couldn't see which really comb them down. Sometime it took the whole staff. But its not safe to always sedate an animal it puts them under extreme amount of stress to come out of it and it makes it ever worst if they are already stresses out. Anyway, we almost had to sell the car it was that bad. My wife wouldn't get in the car. After 6 moths of cleaning etc the smell as far as i can tell is gone.
