Her 1st visit here, needed to choose a new place bc of relocation, original Vet was TOO far for drive. So super convenient location. Appt making was easy. Nice, clean and spacious lobby. Staff seemed personal & friendly to their 'regulars'. In the exam rm the lady was very nice and gentle with her. The Dr was amazing! Loved that she was patient (not rushing), knowledgeable & took time to explain info to us in an understandable way, she broke down the costs & timeline of upcoming procedures & she listened to our concerns genuinely. The cost of visit vs our regular place was $100 more (for same routine care) BUT SO worth not making the drive in distress to a rushed visit!

For pet owners in Evansville, Indiana, discovering a veterinary practice that combines advanced medical care with a deeply compassionate approach is essential. Village East Animal Hospital, conveniently located at 1305 S Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47715, USA, stands as a well-established "Pet Hospital" renowned for its comprehensive services and exceptional client and patient care. While the specific name "Smith Max DVM" refers to one of the esteemed veterinarians on their team, the practice operates under the broader and well-recognized name of Village East Animal Hospital. Pet owners can easily connect with the hospital at (812) 477-2131 or via mobile at +1 812-477-2131 for appointments, inquiries, and ongoing support for their beloved animals.
The environment at Village East Animal Hospital is consistently described by clients as "nice, clean and spacious." The lobby, as noted by a first-time visitor, is welcoming and well-maintained, creating a comfortable initial impression. Beyond the physical space, the atmosphere is defined by the staff's friendly and personal demeanor. The consistent warmth and attentiveness from the moment a pet arrives, even for new patients, contribute significantly to a reassuring environment. This is evident in the positive feedback about the staff being "personal & friendly to their 'regulars'" and the gentle handling provided by the examination room staff. This attention to creating a low-stress and positive experience extends to the overall clinic culture, which is crucial for reducing anxiety in pets during their visits. A clean, spacious, and well-organized facility suggests a commitment to high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency, vital for a comprehensive pet hospital that handles various medical procedures.
As a full-service "Pet Hospital," Village East Animal Hospital offers a wide array of veterinary services designed to cater to the diverse health needs of pets throughout their lives. Their core offerings include comprehensive routine wellness exams, which are fundamental for preventative care, early detection of diseases, and establishing a baseline for ongoing health. Vaccinations, crucial for protecting pets from various infectious diseases, are a standard part of their preventative care protocols. They provide thorough dental care, recognizing its importance to overall pet health, which can range from routine cleanings to more complex dental procedures. The hospital is equipped to perform various surgical procedures, from routine spaying and neutering to soft tissue surgeries, ensuring safe and effective outcomes. Their diagnostic capabilities are robust, encompassing in-house laboratory testing (for blood work, urinalysis, fecal analysis, etc.) and advanced imaging services like digital X-rays to aid in accurate diagnoses. Reviews mention their ability to diagnose issues and provide appropriate medication, indicating strong general medical and pharmaceutical services. Beyond these, Village East Animal Hospital also offers nutritional counseling, pain management, and microchip identification. The fact that clients have been bringing their pets there for decades, including Dr. Jill Kemp caring for a cat for nearly 19 years, underscores their capacity for long-term chronic disease management and senior pet care. While one reviewer mentioned wishing for a local eye surgeon, this simply indicates a specialized referral may be needed for highly specific procedures, which is common even for excellent general practices.
The distinguishing features of Village East Animal Hospital, frequently highlighted by their loyal clientele, revolve around the exceptional qualities of their veterinary team and their commitment to client education and communication. Veterinarians like Dr. Max Smith and Dr. Jill Kemp are praised for their patience, knowledge, and genuine care. Reviewers consistently note that doctors take the time to "explain info... in an understandable way," break down "costs & timeline of upcoming procedures," and genuinely "listen to our concerns." This level of transparent and empathetic communication is a significant differentiator, making pet owners feel fully involved and informed in their pet's healthcare decisions. The personalized follow-up care, where the team "follow up and check on our furry babies if they are sick or hurt or trying new meds," demonstrates a deep commitment to patient well-being beyond the clinic visit. The overall "super" staff, from the front desk to the technicians, contributes to a consistently positive experience, fostering strong, long-term relationships with clients. This dedication to both the "four-legged" and "two-legged" clients creates a sense of trust and belonging, making the hospital a preferred choice despite potential cost differences compared to other clinics, as noted by one client who found the value "SO worth" it.
In terms of promotional information, Village East Animal Hospital's strongest asset is its decades-long reputation for excellence and the overwhelming positive word-of-mouth referrals from its dedicated client base. The reviews themselves act as powerful testimonials, emphasizing the compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough care provided. Their commitment to client convenience is subtly promoted through "easy" appointment making and a "super convenient location" on Green River Road, a busy area in Evansville. While not explicitly detailed, a well-established practice of this caliber would undoubtedly maintain a strong online presence, including a professional website that details their comprehensive services, team bios (including Dr. Max Smith and Dr. Jill Kemp), contact information, and hours of operation. They likely utilize social media to engage with the community, share pet health tips, and celebrate patient success stories. The mention of accepting pet insurance and offering wellness plans on some online listings indicates their focus on making pet care accessible and manageable for owners. The consistent positive feedback regarding their approachability, patience, and willingness to explain procedures and costs clearly also serves as a strong promotional message, attracting new clients seeking transparent and empathetic veterinary care in Evansville.

Jun 02, 2019 · Sharon “Shay” BarnesGreat people work at Village East. They follow up and check on our furry babies if they are sick or hurt or trying new meds. I do wish they could have a local surgeon for eye problems, but that's not a complaint. Dr. Jill really cares about clients, both four and two-legged. The whole staff is super.
Aug 11, 2018 · Todd HowardBest vet in town Dr. Jill Kemp. She's a cat expert. I have been going to her for 16 years. She takes time to get to know the pet and the family. She is a great asset to Village East.
