I had a great experience here. I have a puppy who did not have an established vet yet at the time. She got very ill pretty suddenly and I needed to find someone to get her in same day. After calling several different places who could not get her in that day either because she was not established there, or they had no openings, we were referred here and were able to get her in within a few hours. It was the day before Thanksgiving, so I was incredibly thankful to find anyone to be able to get her in under these circumstances. It turned out she had pyometra, a stomach infection, and hook worms. The small animal vet/staff spent that day, Thanksgiving day, and the entire following weekend diagnosing, treating, giving her an emergency surgery, and follow up care. They did an amazing job, she has had a full recovery. And they didn't take advantage and overcharge anything. Everything was fair. Everyone I dealt with was very kind and caring. I highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you Smith Equine and Veterinary Services from me and a very happy 10 year old! Ms. Abby is still doing fabulous!!

The environment at Smith Equine and Veterinary Services LLC is characterized by a profound sense of kindness, caring, and professionalism. While specific architectural details are not provided, the operational ethos described by clients suggests a well-managed and deeply empathetic setting. The ability to accommodate an emergency "same day," even for a puppy without an established vet, speaks to an efficient and flexible intake process designed to prioritize urgent medical needs. The staff, including "Dr. Smith, Dr. Price and the entire staff," are consistently praised for being "very caring" and treating "your fur babies like their own." This indicates a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere where both pets and their owners feel supported during what can often be stressful times. For equine services, the facility would be equipped with appropriate infrastructure for handling large animals, such as stalls, examination areas, and possibly specialized diagnostic or treatment zones, ensuring a safe and effective environment for horses as well. The overall impression is one of a professional, yet warmly compassionate, clinic.

Smith Equine and Veterinary Services LLC offers a wide and robust array of veterinary services, fitting its description as a versatile "Pet Hospital" for both small and large animals:

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: This is a standout service, explicitly praised for their responsiveness. The clinic's ability to "get her in within a few hours" on the day before Thanksgiving for an unestablished patient facing a severe, sudden illness (pyometra) demonstrates an exceptional commitment to emergency care. They provide prompt diagnosis, treatment, and even emergency surgery when needed, regardless of existing client status, which is a rare and invaluable feature.

  • Comprehensive Small Animal Medicine: For dogs and cats, services extend from diagnosing and treating acute infections (like the puppy's stomach infection and hookworms) to managing chronic conditions (such as Bella's chronic ear infection). This includes thorough physical examinations, vaccinations, parasite control, and general wellness care.

  • Small Animal Surgery: The successful emergency surgery for pyometra, leading to a "full recovery," highlights their capability in performing complex soft tissue surgeries with excellent outcomes. This indicates a well-equipped surgical suite and skilled veterinary surgeons.

  • Diagnostic Services: While not explicitly listed, the rapid diagnosis of pyometra, stomach infection, and hookworms points to efficient in-house laboratory capabilities (blood tests, fecal exams) and potentially imaging services (X-rays, ultrasound) to accurately identify conditions.

  • Chronic Disease Management: The experience with Bella's chronic ear infection and later cancer diagnosis shows their dedication to long-term care, providing ongoing support, answering questions, and helping owners navigate difficult health journeys for their pets.

  • Equine Veterinary Services: As indicated by their name, "Equine and Veterinary Services LLC," they provide care for horses. While specific equine services are not detailed in the reviews, a clinic of this type would typically offer ambulatory services (farm calls), wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, dental care (floating), lameness evaluations, basic field surgery, and potentially reproductive services for horses. Their dual focus makes them a valuable resource for owners of both small and large animals in the agricultural community.

  • Client Education and Communication: Clients consistently note that the staff "answer all your questions with knowledge" and are willing to "find out the answer for you" if they don't know it immediately. This commitment to transparent and thorough communication is crucial for building trust and empowering pet owners.

The key features that make Smith Equine and Veterinary Services LLC highly commendable are:

  • Outstanding Responsiveness in Emergencies: Their willingness and ability to "get in same day" for a severe, unestablished emergency (pyometra on the day before Thanksgiving) is an exceptional and life-saving service that sets them apart from many clinics.

  • Comprehensive Dual Practice: The ability to expertly serve both small companion animals and large animals like horses provides a unique and convenient offering for clients with diverse pet portfolios.

  • Profound Compassion and Care: The recurring theme across reviews is the staff's genuine care, treating "fur babies like their own" and being "very kind and caring." This empathy creates a comforting and trustworthy environment.

  • Expertise and Knowledge: Dr. Smith, Dr. Price, and the entire team are consistently praised for their knowledge, thoroughness in diagnosis, and effective treatment plans, leading to full recoveries and improved quality of life.

  • Fair and Transparent Pricing: The explicit mention that "they didn't take advantage and overcharge anything. Everything was fair" is a significant advantage, particularly in emergency situations where costs can escalate rapidly. This builds immense trust with clients.

  • Excellent Communication: Their dedication to answering all questions thoroughly, even researching when needed, ensures pet owners are fully informed and involved in their pets' care decisions.

Regarding promotional information, Smith Equine and Veterinary Services LLC's most powerful advertisement comes from the highly compelling and emotionally resonant client testimonials. These personal stories of life-saving care and compassionate support are far more impactful than traditional marketing. While no specific ongoing promotional campaigns are listed, their effective promotional strategies would include:

  • Leveraging Testimonials: Prominently featuring these glowing, detailed reviews on their website and social media would be incredibly effective, especially the emergency success story which acts as a strong proof point for their urgent care capabilities.

  • Highlighting Emergency Responsiveness: Clearly communicating their capacity to handle same-day urgent and emergency cases, including for new patients, is a vital service that should be explicitly promoted.

  • Emphasizing Dual-Species Care: Advertising their expertise in both small animal and equine veterinary medicine would appeal to a broader client base, particularly in agricultural communities.

  • Showcasing Their Team: Featuring Dr. Smith, Dr. Price, and other key staff members on their website and in promotional materials can personalize the clinic and reinforce the message of compassionate care.

  • Community Engagement: Participating in local pet fairs, equestrian events, or offering educational seminars on preventative care for both small and large animals can build their reputation and attract new clients.

  • Transparency in Pricing and Policies: Maintaining fair pricing and being transparent about their services and capabilities (as noted by the satisfied client) fosters trust and positive word-of-mouth.

Dr. Smith, Dr. Price and the entire staff are wonderful. They are very caring and treat your fur babies like their own. They answer all your questions with knowledge and if they don't know, they find out the answer for you. My Bella had a chronic ear infection and they helped us make it go away. They helped us when she was diagnosed with cancer; they answered all questions.

From small animals to livestock, they give the best care! We had very sick cats, and they helped me figure out the cause. When our goat had a retained placenta, Dr. Smith was able to get us the medications quickly so it could pass.

I go here for all my animals. He has saved my horse more than once and helped me with other ones. He's also good with my goats and dogs.
