Shirlington Animal Hospital

Thought I had already written this review, but maybe I left it on Yelp! we have been coming to Shirlington Animal Hospital, at least for five years. I’ve been bringing all of my animals to Shirlington and they continue to be extremely caring, thorough and attentive! Request requests for appointments, sir always fulfilled quickly as our medicine callbacks. Some other requests I have seen all three of their vets interacted with all of their vet, techs, and staff and it is always a pleasure to go there just ask my dog. !❤️!

Shirlington Animal Hospital will always and forever be my go-to place for my pups' veterinary care. Each member of the staff that I've encountered have gone above and beyond to make sure my shy and anxious girl, Maya, feels comfortable and our appointments have always gone smoothly. Shout out especially to Maddie for her compassion and affection that she shows the animals. Thank you, SAH, for everything you do for our pets. My sweet girl Maya, my late boy, Zane the husky, and I appreciate you.

very thorough, and very thoughtful throughout the whole process. I took my dog there because he was sick, and I will absolutely be taking him there any time we need to see a vet in the future. the staff are all very kind and will take whatever time needed to calm your nerves and take care of your pet, and they loved on my boy so so much. there is a $105 new patient fee when you book the first appointment, but it is a credit towards the cost of the first appointment (just a note for new people looking to book). they took great care of my boy and i know they’d take great care of every fur baby!!!

I am giving them 2 stars for the following reasons. This is a fine animal hospital to take your pet to have basic care and annual checkups. Staff is friendly because they care about their clients who bring them repeat business. But when we notified them that our cat passed away they did not reach out to us to say they were sorry for our loss. No note; nothing. But the emergency place that saw our cat for 30 minutes were compassionate and sympathetic. They sent me a sympathy card expressing their sadness for our loss. Even after 6 years of wellness checks and for the numerous times we had to bring her in the last 6 months for her diabetes. I guess I was wrong to expect more from them since we were long-standing clients. If you are considering using them, just know it is all about their profits. I guess I expected more compassion from them.

We've been taking our cats to Shirlington Animal Hospital for the past four years and have always had great experiences. Intake on our last visit was almost immediate and the tech and vet made sure to reduce stress on our cats as much as possible. The vet also spent a lot of time with us talking through each cat's health and answering our questions. Great experience all around!
