Here to update my review from 3 years ago: Dr. Anderson truly cares for my cat, Dexter. She has gone above and beyond for him on many occasions. The vet office usually gets you in a room fairly quickly (with appointment), so animals don't stress as much. Dexter hates car rides but loves every staff member at Shelbyville Animal Hospital. He usually doesn't like strangers, but he's never met a stranger here. I am picky about my cats care and they do an amazing job every time!!! KUDOS!!!!

Well let's just let the public know that this hospital doesn't have any professional integrity nor do they (CARE) about animals. Sadly I took my 5 week old puppy to them due to him having a severe infection from a wound. I walked in the door with my lifeless fur baby and let the a hole at the front desk ( who I'm assuming is the veterinarian) know we needed help immediately due to my babies failing health on 10/7/2024 I pleaded with them saying I did not want my baby to die and they basically said they could care less cause we didn't have an appointment!!! I'm beyond upset to say the least and I think they should be reported and lose there license. What kind of veterinary clinic can see a puppy that's dying and refuse to help. Obviously only them cause I went to cascade animal hospital and I was welcomed with open arms. They were the most kind and amazing people that truly care about animals. I was not turned away instead 5 minutes later I was in the radiology room meeting the vet who is beyond fantastic. Within minutes my baby was shaved and I was signing a form for anesthesia. My pups better now but had it been up to them he'd be dead. I'm contacting the BBB in the morning and if I have to I will petition the state because any doctor that would refuse a puppy needs to lose his business. I just think it's beyond terrible and they should lock there doors. How can u in your right mind refuse a sick border doodle that is beyond cute. Please take her to these words and let's shut there doors for good!!!!!!!

My 9 week old puppy had eaten a stone and was having SERIOUS issues ! Dr Anderson got my puppy in immediately and the whole staff worked together on the process from x rays to care for a perfect outcome. I can not thank them enough or recommend SAH enough . If you are considering a veterinarian this is your place !

I never leave reviews, but I had to for this place.... They have been very good to our dog Ollie & have even called/text just to check in on him when he's been sick. Their entire staff has been very loving & genuinely cared for our boy & I couldn't ask for more from them.
