Shady Road Vet Clinic Inc

I have been using Shady Road Vet Clinic since I moved to Ocala over 3 years ago. I come from the Melbourne, FL area and before that Palm Beach, FL area. I did not realize how much my other vets were taking advantage of me until I came to Shady Road Vet Clinic and noticed the difference in my vet bills. Dr. Vance was the only one who gave me an honest answer that was in the best interest of my dog. Every other vet tried to persuade me to do an expensive surgery that would have caused more discomfort for my dog and thousands of dollars out of pocket. Dr. Vance gave it to me straight… my dog was 14 years old at the time, had cancer, didn’t have much of a quality of life and had a large mass growing in a terrible location. Dr. Vance could have made $$$ and suggested I did the surgery to remove the mass but, instead was the only vet that had my dog’s best interest at heart. I have not used another vet since, nor will I. I now bring my 3 month old chocolate lab to her and my 14 year old cat. I feel safe that my animals are in the care of Dr. Vance and that is what is important.

New to Florida and called about spaying my female V. The receptionist was very helpful but stated I needed a referral from another client. Sounds like a great practice, but no referral. So my search continues.

Great staff, helped me scan for a chip for a found pup. Super sweet, gave me advice on getting him home amd gave a nexgaurd for his fleas

It was just ok! The front desk secretary was super, super friendly and helpful. The vet tech was not very friendly at all and the vet was nice but just didn't seem to have much sympathy for someone who was asking questions about their dogs quality of life and euthanization as this is a very difficult process for animal owners.

We have been using Dr. Vance for the 3 years we have lived here and she and the staff have been great. Dr. Vance is caring and professional and the staff is always helpful, kind and caring. We have been to many Veterinarians over the years because of moving and Shady Road is one of the best. Thank you !!
