Highly recommend looking else where for your American Shorthaired kitten!! Met Cheryl at the CFA cat show in Del Mar and purchased a female kitten from her who had recently been spayed. Pointed out to her before buying that the area looked infected but was told it was normal, and having never had a young kitten before i assumed the breeder would know. Brought home my American Short haired kitten and started doing research on the breed. First red flag was that my kitten is LONG HAIRED which i realized is very bad after reaching out to many american shorthaired breeders. From all the other breeders i am told this means she isn't purebred but mixed with something to get her long coat. Not a HUGE deal because we still love our kitten but would have been nice to know before spending over $900 on a kitten! The real issue came in a few days after we brought her home. Her spay stitches started to leak puss!!! We rushed her to the vet and contacted the breeder why the kitten was in the back having her stitches removed, the area cleaned up, and restitched together. My kitten had to wear a cone and be on medication for the infection for 10 days there after. When i was finally leaving the vet i heard back from Cheryl asking if i could bring the kitten to her vet which is a 3-4 hour drive away from me. I am quite lucky i didn't wait to bring my kitten in to a vet because when she got there she had a crazy high fever and i was told if i had waiting much longer the infection could have spread and she would need even more surgery, The next day i asked the breeder, Cheryl, if she could give me a refund for the the amount of the vet bill(which was less than what we paid for the kitten) because I had pointed out the stitches being infected before buying the kitten and her saying it looked fine. THE BREEDER AGREED TO THE REFUND which she has still yet to send me(been 2 months now) and i have not heard from the breeder again!!!!! Moral of the story, look else where for an American Short haired kitten and get everything in writing before you send any form of payment.

Welcome to Schooner Cats

This introduction focuses on Schooner Cats, located at 33633 Valley Terrace, Wildomar, CA 92595, USA. Based on the provided information, Schooner Cats appears to operate within the sphere of cat breeding and sales, potentially aligning with the broader category of a 'Pet Hospital' in the sense that they deal with the health and sale of animals. You can reach them at phone number (951) 674-4840 or mobile phone +1 951-674-4840.

Information regarding the environment of Schooner Cats is limited. One review mentions meeting Cheryl, presumably associated with Schooner Cats, at a CFA cat show in Del Mar, suggesting they participate in such events. Another review mentions purchasing a kitten and bringing it home, implying a facility where cats are bred and housed. Without further details, it's challenging to describe the physical environment of their cattery or any potential associated facilities.

The primary service offered by Schooner Cats, based on the reviews, seems to be the breeding and selling of cats, specifically American Shorthairs. One customer details the purchase of what was believed to be an American Shorthair kitten. Additionally, there's a mention of a "three year old Schooner cat, silver tabby," indicating they may also have older cats or cats of different breeds or descriptions available at times. The negative review highlights issues encountered post-purchase, including a possibly misidentified breed (long-haired instead of shorthaired) and a post-surgical infection that required veterinary intervention. This suggests that while their primary activity is breeding and selling, the health and post-sale support aspects have received mixed feedback.

Features of Schooner Cats, based on the limited and somewhat contradictory customer feedback, include:

  • Breeding of Cats: Specifically mentioned in relation to American Shorthairs.
  • Sales of Kittens and Adult Cats: Evidenced by the purchase of a kitten and the mention of a three-year-old cat.
  • Participation in Cat Shows: As indicated by meeting at a CFA show.

However, it's crucial to also note the negative aspects highlighted in one review, which include:

  • Potential for Breed Misidentification: A customer received a long-haired kitten represented as an American Shorthair.
  • Concerns Regarding Post-Surgical Care Assessment: An infected spay incision was allegedly dismissed as normal prior to purchase.
  • Issues with Post-Sale Support and Refunds: A promised refund for veterinary bills was reportedly not received after two months, and communication ceased.

The second review offers a contrasting positive note, mentioning a "beautiful, smart, friendly three year old Schooner cat, silver tabby." This suggests that some customers have had positive experiences with cats from Schooner Cats. However, given the significant issues raised in the first review, potential local users should approach with caution and consider the advice given by that customer: "look else where for an American Short haired kitten and get everything in writing before you send any form of payment."

As Schooner Cats appears to be primarily a breeder rather than a traditional 'Pet Hospital' offering a wide range of veterinary services, their offerings would likely center around the availability of cats for purchase. They might provide initial health checks or vaccinations for kittens before sale, but the negative review points to potential shortcomings in this area. It is important for prospective buyers to inquire thoroughly about the health history, breed verification, and any guarantees or post-sale support offered.

Promotional information is not explicitly provided. The mention of meeting at a cat show could be seen as a way to promote their cats to potential buyers. However, the conflicting customer experiences make it difficult to present a straightforward positive promotion. Instead, it is essential to objectively present the information available, including both the positive mention of a beautiful cat and the detailed negative experience regarding a kitten purchase.

For local users in Wildomar, CA, who are considering acquiring a cat, particularly an American Shorthair, Schooner Cats is a local entity to be aware of. However, the detailed negative review serves as a significant caution. Potential buyers should exercise due diligence, including verifying the breed of any cat they are interested in, thoroughly inspecting the animal's health, and ensuring all agreements, especially regarding health issues and financial transactions, are clearly documented in writing before any purchase. The positive mention of a specific cat suggests that Schooner Cats may indeed have well-tempered and beautiful cats, but the inconsistencies in customer experience warrant careful consideration.

In conclusion, Schooner Cats in Wildomar, CA, appears to be involved in breeding and selling cats. While one customer had a positive experience with a three-year-old cat, another detailed significant issues with the purchase of a kitten, including potential breed misidentification, concerns about the assessment of a post-surgical infection, and unresolved issues with a promised refund. For local users considering Schooner Cats, it is strongly advised to proceed with caution, conduct thorough due diligence, and ensure all aspects of a potential purchase are clearly documented.
