Took my 8 week old puppy in today, expecting to wait a bit past my appointment time, we did but it wasn’t too crazy of a wait for us until pup started to anxiously fart bean farts lmao. The lady who set my appointment came in and spent time explaining everything to me, which shots were essential and which were recommended, etc. I appreciated it. I do think they were pretty busy in the back area though since it took more time to wait in the room once we left the waiting area. My puppy seemed nervous but then relaxed. I thought it was interesting that different pet species like cats, birds, and dogs are in the same area, but none of the patients seemed aggro or extra anxious at all. I noticed that that they did offer pet grooming and boarding, too, and every one seemed interested in letting me know what could be best for the health of my puppy. I liked that everyone understood a certain amount of Spanish (bilingual practice) and came up to me to ask about my pup’s visit. Some people came in for a pet grooming and it seems like their appointment may have gotten mixed up; but if you notice the stacks of manila folders from A-Z and how tired these people are yet still can keep their professionalism and energy in with their own personality, it seems like a pretty decent place to take your companions. I saw the vet for less than 5 minutes, he administered the shots in the same room. One lady’s cat had a broken leg, so it seems like they cover a good amount of services overall. I just came in for my puppy’s essentials which came out to 180. With my bad foot and torn shoulder and needing to come in asap- and only on the weekend, I couldn’t skip going. I liked the energy and how friendly clients were with each other and with the staff.

Welcome to Riverside Veterinary Clinic
Riverside Veterinary Clinic, located at 4151 Broadway in New York, NY 10033, serves the local community as a Pet Hospital offering various services for animal companions. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the clinic based on the available customer reviews, shedding light on its environment, services, features, and any potential promotional aspects mentioned by patrons.
Based on the customer feedback, the environment at Riverside Veterinary Clinic appears to be a bustling and potentially diverse space. One reviewer noted the presence of different pet species, including cats, birds, and dogs, in the same area. Interestingly, this reviewer observed that despite the variety of animals, none seemed aggressive or overly anxious, suggesting a potentially well-managed environment in terms of patient interaction. The clinic also seems to have a bilingual staff capable of communicating in Spanish, which can be a significant advantage for Spanish-speaking pet owners in the area. The reviewer also mentioned a generally friendly atmosphere among both clients and staff, contributing to a positive energy within the clinic.
Riverside Veterinary Clinic appears to offer a range of services beyond basic veterinary care. One customer explicitly mentioned the availability of pet grooming and boarding services, indicating a more comprehensive approach to pet care under one roof. Regarding medical services, the clinic handles routine care such as puppy vaccinations and appears equipped to address more acute issues, as evidenced by a client mentioning a cat with a broken leg receiving treatment. However, one particularly critical review detailed a negative experience involving a misdiagnosis and a perceived attempt at unnecessary and costly treatments, which raises concerns about the consistency and quality of diagnostic services. Another observation was that the veterinary consultation during a routine vaccination appointment was brief, lasting less than five minutes, with the shots administered in the same room. Based on the positive and negative feedback, the services potentially offered include:
- Routine check-ups and vaccinations: As experienced by the puppy owner.
- Treatment for injuries: Such as the care provided for a cat with a broken leg.
- Pet grooming: A service explicitly mentioned by a customer.
- Pet boarding: Also explicitly noted as an available service.
- Diagnostic services: Including assessments for skin conditions, although the accuracy of these has been questioned in one review.
It is crucial for potential clients to consider the contrasting experiences shared in the reviews when evaluating the services at Riverside Veterinary Clinic.
Several features of Riverside Veterinary Clinic can be identified from the customer reviews. The walk-in nature of appointments, implied by one reviewer's expectation of a wait, suggests a potentially flexible but also busy practice. The bilingual capability of the staff is a notable feature that can enhance accessibility for a broader segment of the local community. The availability of grooming and boarding alongside medical services offers convenience for pet owners seeking integrated care. However, the negative review highlights a potential lack of thoroughness in consultations and concerns about diagnostic accuracy and treatment recommendations. The reviewer also pointed out the staff's unusual way of referring to animals ("it" instead of "she/he"), which they found unprofessional and indicative of a lack of genuine care.
Currently, there is no explicit mention of any promotional information or special offers from Riverside Veterinary Clinic in the provided reviews. The puppy owner mentioned a cost of $180 for essential vaccinations, but this appears to be a standard charge rather than a promotion. Local users interested in learning about any potential discounts for new clients, package deals for routine services, or other promotional offers should contact the clinic directly at (212) 923-1991 or mobile phone at +1 212-923-1991.
The customer reviews for Riverside Veterinary Clinic present a mixed picture. On one hand, there are positive experiences highlighting friendly staff, a seemingly well-managed environment with diverse animal patients, and the convenience of on-site grooming and boarding. The bilingual staff is also a notable asset for the local community. On the other hand, a significant negative review raises serious concerns about diagnostic accuracy, potential for unnecessary treatments, rushed consultations, and a perceived lack of empathy towards animals. This stark contrast in experiences suggests that the quality of care and service may vary. Potential local users should carefully consider these differing perspectives when making a decision about their pet's veterinary care.
In conclusion, Riverside Veterinary Clinic in New York City offers a range of services as a Pet Hospital, including medical care, grooming, and boarding. Features include a potentially diverse animal patient environment, bilingual staff, and a walk-in appointment system. However, customer reviews present both positive and significant negative experiences, particularly concerning diagnostic accuracy and the approach to treatment recommendations. As there is no promotional information available in the provided text, local users are encouraged to contact the clinic directly for more details about their services and policies, and to weigh the available customer feedback carefully to make an informed decision about their pet's healthcare needs.

Feb 02, 2025 · C CI visited this vet quite some time ago, however I had such a poor experience, it has lingered in my mind and I've been intending to leave a review to hopefully warn others not to waste their time and money here. I feel especially justified after reading some recent reviews. I brought my cat here after it appeared she was having some skin irritation. Our usual vet was booked out for weeks, so I brought my kitty here. She had itchy little red bumps on her skin, which to me appeared to be an allergic reaction. The vets here insisted it was fleas. I had considered that, but since there are no other pets in my home and my cat doesn't go outside, it seemed unlikely. Still, they insisted. But wouldn't I be able to see the fleas? I googled some pictures of cats with fleas-- yes, you can see them. They insisted these fleas are sooo microscopic, they are invisible to the human eye. I guess they thought I was too simple to do a quick Google search. Their solution? They insisted was necessary to shave all of my cat's fur off and do a flea dip, also it would be necessary to essentially fumigate my home, all to the tune of $700. The visit was really rushed, too; the entire appointment was maybe fifteen minutes, and they barely touched my cat. They also repeatedly called my cat "it" not "she/he." Never, ever have I heard a vet do this! For a vet, they really don't seem to be animal people. I promptly thanked them for their time and paid for the visit, but no way in hell was I letting them do this! I got an emergency appt at our usual place- Harlem Animal Hospital - and they fixed her right up! And yes, it was an allergic reaction, smh! No shaving necessary. They have some shameful and shady business practices going on here- go elsewhere!!! ---------------- Edited post their reply: Hi, it's nice of you to reply, however your reply doesn't address your incorrect treatment assessment, nor the rushed appointment, nor the...unorthodox way your staff refers to animals. About that ointment I did purchase: I brought it to my usual vet and they ascertained that my cat did not have any ear issues and the medication was an utterly pointless upsell. If it were my business, instead of constantly defending your honor against your many negative reviews, I would be more focused on improving your service and facility.
Mar 06, 2025 · Seneca PetersBeen coming to this vet for years now for my pups. They’re very upfront when it comes to pricing & compared to other vets in the city they are more affordable. The staff has always been very diligent & professional. The vet is also great & charismatic. A few experiences include: One of my dogs, a pitbull, eating something they shouldn’t have. They gave me an estimate for everything they recommended and then helped me reduce it to only what was absolutely necessary to do in that moment such as meds and x-ray. My pit got better within a few days since the item wasn’t lodged anywhere & it passed naturally. Another one of my dogs, a chihuahua, unfortunately passed away recently due to old age. They were extremely gracious and handled my pup (and me) with so much care even though I was a mess. They gave me time to say my goodbye privately & did not rush me at all. I would highly recommend their service & will continue coming here ❤️
Dec 20, 2024 · Rossy BDr. Ramos Rosado and his team provide understanding and compassionate care to all pets and owners who go there. My Keanu felt so comfortable with everyone there. We had previously been to two other vets and he wanted nothing to do with those places. Dr. Ramos Rosado has an invaluable amount of experience that helps him make appropriate decisions for patient care. His team is very communicative with patients and parents. I loved the experience so much that he is going to become our family vet. Thank you.
Feb 03, 2025 · Marcia CamposTHE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! 1. We walk in and a "nurse" (?) takes his weight and temperature using an ear therometer-- the only way to take a dog temp is rectally. 2. A "guy" walks in wearing a winter cap did not introduce himself and just shoved $500 worth of vaccinations he claimed my puppy needed. When I told him he is from a breeder and had all his shots he THEN reviewed the paperwork and said "oh" and insisted on other shots. At this point he is still the "guy in the winter cap" he did not introduce himself or tell us his title. After he came in and out the room several times did he give us his name and title as "vet tech". As we finally asked who are you and what do you do here? 3. No one even looked at or aknowledge the puppy. They were just interested in his age and the "list of vaccinations" 4. Please Note at this point WE STILL HAVE NOT SEEN THE VET?? 5. THE PLACE IS DISGUSTING -- PAINT MISSING FROM WALL, FLOOR IS DIRTY, PLACE IS SMELLY AND THE EXAM TABLE IN OUR ROOM WAS BALANCED BY CARDBORD (REALLY) WE LEFT THIS PLACE IN DISGUST AND STILL DID NOT SEE THE VET?? How can treatment be rendered without an exam. And what was suggested was not even necessary by the "vet tech" own admission. ========================= ========================== We went to ****ANOTHER ANIMAL CLINIC** the place was clean, smelled good. the staff was amazing and AFTER the vet exam she gave us education on doggie dental care, dog food choices and tips on house training. ******AFTER THIS VET EXAMINED OUR PUPPY AND REVIEWED THE PAPER WORK SHE SAID HE HAD ALL HIS SHOTS AND DO NOT NEED ANY VACCINATIONS. THIS OTHER VET SAID WE SHOULD WAIT ANOTHER WEEK OR TWO BEFORE THE OTHER BOOSTERS AS HE JUST HAD HIS SHOTS ABOUT A WEEK AGO AT THE BREEDER I am horrified by the condition of this clinic and the careless care give. This is my experience-- I would not RECOMMEND this place "to a dog" (pun intened)
