I recently moved barns and my old vet does not service my new area… So of course I had mild emergencies back to back. The receptionists were kind and patient when I was frazzled and Dr. Mallory was exceptional with both of my horses (one lameness issue and one eye scratch). I found their pricing to be more than fair and they were even able to medically board one of my horses over the weekend, so I could keep a planned trip. Reagan has my business hands down.

Welcome to Reagan Equine
Reagan Equine, situated at 2404 N Kerr Ave, Wilmington, NC 28405, USA, distinguishes itself as a premier "Pet Hospital" exclusively dedicated to the health and well-being of horses. In the realm of veterinary care, specializing in equines requires a unique blend of expertise, specialized equipment, and a deep understanding of these magnificent animals. Reagan Equine has successfully carved out a niche as a trusted and highly recommended provider of such specialized services in the Wilmington area and beyond. Their commitment to exceptional care, coupled with a professional and compassionate team, makes them a vital resource for horse owners facing routine health needs or unexpected emergencies.
The environment at Reagan Equine is tailored to accommodate the specific needs of horses and their owners. While general veterinary clinics might have smaller, more contained spaces, an equine facility requires ample room for horses to be moved, examined, and treated comfortably and safely. From the reviews, it's clear that the clinic is equipped to handle both ambulatory services (where the vet travels to the horse's location) and possibly haul-in services for more intensive care or procedures that require specialized equipment. The mention of "medically board one of my horses over the weekend" indicates that Reagan Equine possesses on-site facilities for extended care and recovery, akin to a specialized hospital setting. This implies well-maintained stalls, monitoring equipment, and a dedicated team to oversee hospitalized patients. The professionalism and calmness of the receptionists, even when clients are "frazzled," point to a well-organized front office that contributes to a smooth and reassuring experience for owners. This type of environment is critical for equine care, as the sheer size and sensitivity of horses demand a calm, spacious, and highly functional setting for examinations and treatments.
Reagan Equine provides a comprehensive suite of veterinary services tailored specifically for horses. As a specialized "Pet Hospital" for equines, their offerings go far beyond general animal care. Core services include diagnostics and treatment for various conditions, as highlighted by a client's experience with a "lameness issue" and an "eye scratch." Lameness diagnostics are a cornerstone of equine practice, involving thorough examinations to pinpoint the source of discomfort or reduced performance. Eye care is also critical, given the delicate nature of equine eyes and their susceptibility to injury. Beyond these specific examples, it's highly probable that Reagan Equine offers a full spectrum of equine veterinary services, which typically encompass routine wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, and nutritional counseling crucial for preventative care. They likely provide advanced dental care, a vital aspect of horse health often requiring specialized tools and techniques. Surgical procedures, both elective and emergency, would also fall under their purview, especially for issues like severe lameness or complex injuries. The capability to "medically board" horses implies facilities for intensive care, post-operative recovery, and ongoing monitoring for more severe conditions or injuries. Furthermore, based on common equine practices, they would likely offer pre-purchase examinations, reproductive services, and sports medicine to cater to performance horses. The presence of multiple highly skilled veterinarians suggests a collaborative approach to complex cases, ensuring that horses receive the most informed and effective treatment plans.
The distinguishing features of Reagan Equine, as illuminated by customer testimonials, are deeply rooted in the expertise and compassionate approach of its veterinary team. Dr. Mallory is lauded for being "exceptional with both of my horses," demonstrating both skill in addressing specific issues like lameness and eye injuries, and a gentle demeanor. Dr. Kish, along with technician Kyle, is described as "professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring," ensuring horses were "comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire visit." This level of individualized care and attention is a hallmark of Reagan Equine, creating a strong sense of confidence and trust among owners. The proactive communication, with Dr. Kish taking "the time to answer all of my questions," ensures that owners feel "valued and informed." This commitment to client education and engagement is a significant differentiator. Another highly valued feature is the "more than fair" pricing mentioned by a client, suggesting that despite specializing in a field that can be costly, Reagan Equine strives to provide excellent value. The ability to "medically board" a horse over a weekend for a planned trip is a unique and incredibly convenient service, showcasing their flexibility and dedication to supporting their clients' needs. The collective sentiment of clients finding Reagan Equine to be "Exceptional Equine Care" and recommending them for "unparalleled equine veterinary care" speaks volumes about their consistent high standards and the profound positive impact they have on the equine community. The clinic’s ability to attract and retain clients, even those who have moved barns or traveled long distances, underscores their exceptional reputation.
Reagan Equine’s promotional efforts are likely grounded in their strong reputation and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from their clientele. The direct phone numbers, (910) 792-6001 and +1 910-792-6001, serve as the primary points of contact for scheduling appointments, addressing emergencies, or making general inquiries. While specific marketing campaigns are not detailed, the robust testimonials from satisfied customers act as powerful endorsements. The statement "Reagan has my business hands down" from a new client who experienced back-to-back emergencies is a strong indicator of their ability to convert urgent situations into loyal relationships through exceptional service. The emphasis on being a "hidden treasure" for those seeking caring and professional service, even if it means a significant drive, highlights their word-of-mouth appeal. Their commitment to "fair pricing" also serves as an attractive promotional point, addressing a common concern for pet owners. They likely emphasize their comprehensive range of services, particularly their expertise in lameness and specialized treatments, to attract owners with specific equine health needs. Showcasing the compassionate and knowledgeable nature of their veterinarians, such as Dr. Mallory and Dr. Kish, is also a key promotional strategy, as veterinary care is fundamentally built on trust and personal connection. Furthermore, their capacity for medical boarding and ability to handle various types of equine emergencies would be significant selling points for horse owners needing reliable and immediate support. The sheer volume of positive experiences and enthusiastic recommendations from current clients forms the most compelling promotional narrative for Reagan Equine, drawing in new clients seeking similar levels of dedicated and expert care for their horses.
In conclusion, Reagan Equine stands as an exemplary "Pet Hospital" dedicated to the highly specialized field of equine veterinary medicine in Wilmington, NC. Jan 13, 2025 · Kelley BarronThank you Dr Grace. You really showed up (literally!) and were available and very communicative when my guy had an accident early last week. I really appreciate you sticking with us through the whole ordeal, even with the change of shifts and the change of his care plan. It means so much to know you cared enough to answer many questions and guide me through his recovery. Thank you!
Oct 01, 2024 · Nicole KDr. Reagan is skilled with routine horse care and common ailments. When it comes to something less common, good luck. I wonder how many other clients had leg injuries or dealt with proud flesh (also known as granulation tissue) to find themselves spending an abhorrent amount of money with zero results and maybe even had to put their horse down because of her lack of knowledge or care to consult with other vets. While under her care, I didn't know any better and she seemed so helpful and responsive to updates via text, etc. I trusted her. Thank goodness I had to relocate mid-care and therefore sought a new vet who actually educated me and saved my horse's life. My new vet educated me on just how WRONG Dr. Reagan was on literally every decision related to my horse's care. The last visit I had with her before the move she said (with 4 witnesses present) that "no, his wound is not infected" and treated his unsoundness as if it was related to his hoof without doing a proper evaluation because she left her test kit at the clinic, even though she was sent a video prior to her arrival. I reached out to Dr. Reagan in hopes to receive a refund on the services rendered, as she clearly did not know what she was doing, and instead she ignored me and decided customer service satisfaction wasn't important, I guess because I moved. I post this because I hope anyone else dealing with a more complex ailment or less common one does NOT take their horse to Dr. Reagan. I spent thousands of dollars under her care with ZERO results while my new vet healed my horse, received in a worse condition because of the infection she ignored, for less than $400 and in half the time. Had she been willing to actually have a conversation with me and discuss refund options with me, I would never post this as it would show she can recognize error and grow from mistakes (everyone makes them!) But she clearly was not interested in making things right. I wonder how many others she's made thousands of dollars off of purely due to lack of knowledge and client's not knowing any better like me. Don't use her for convenience in the Wilmington area, go elsewhere.
